Will it be like in 1993 when all the foreign heads of State and other Royals walked in the procession from the Palace to the Cathedral? Or only the belgian Royal Family?

Oh my God...they are going to have music from the Faure Requiem? That one is a favorite of mine...so gorgeous!

I don't tink so. The weather in Belgium today is very bad with lots of rain and wind.

RTL has already started the broadcast, Fabiola's hairdresser is talking

Mine too!!! I've sung it many times. Sooo beautiul

VTM's steam is running now too.

Philippe and Mathilde's children are also there...they arrived with their aunt Astrid (their parents arrived a little earlier in a flagship car

I'm surprised only Queen Paola is wearing a mantilla...I like this costume for a funeral

The VRT Een is broadcasting too on television though the live links are not working yet.

One of Fabiola's favourite pictures of her husband and herself is displayed in the cathedral: Live Center

According to the VTM reporters, Fabiola felt pity for Laurent and the relations wth him greatly improved after the wedding with Pss Claire.

I did not notice if the Royals of Bulgaria, Greece or Bulgaria were at the Funeral.

Is it me or are it all blabbermouths there in Belgium? The Confessor revealing private information to the press, the hairdresser revealing the wishes of the late Queen. I am used to Dutch, German and British broadcasts and there the information is really not that futile about the coiffure a deceased person has in the coffin...

 :ermm:

I really hope that the "turbo-blabbermouth" Jan van den Berghe (self-declared royal expert) will not give comment on VRT. I will then immediately switch to NOS (Netherlands) which is still uses to shut up when someone needs to be silent.

:flowers:

At this moment I see Queen Fabiola leaving the Royal Palace. During the whole event (except the Brabançonne playing) the comment is blabbing .... I would like them to stay silent and just let he images speak for themselves...

Donna Paola is an Italian of course and honouring the Spanish roots of Doña Fabiola. It is wonderful.

A bit of an OT: in RTL they referred to Lili and Amedeo as Prince and Princess Amedeo

It is very rainy and the streets are empty. It does look a bit desolate.

rainy and extremely windy...you could see how some umbrellas were about to fly away. It adds more solemnity and intimacy to me. When I see lots of people in the streets during funerals it seems to me lots of them are there just out of curiosity...

Very strange to see people with bags and cases just walking on to their offices and not stand still when such a cortège passes. Maybe they honestly have no idea (staff from European instititions?) what happens.

Princess Léa has arrived, super-elegant as always.

I wanted to go out to look this, but it is very much raining and stormy here in Brussels..

I totally understand.

The Cathédrale des Saints Michel et Gudule (I like these names) looks splendid.

Princess Beatrix has arrived. I liked it that all raised in the church when the Princess walked down the aisle.

The weather looks terrible in Brussels today, guests arriving at the Cathedral being buffeted by the wind. I went to Brussels this time last year and in the areas between the palace and the cathedral seemed quite quiet compared to the more central areas.

Yes I spotted that, that was a nice touch for Beatrix.

Empress Michiko arrived looking as delicate and enchanting as ever, she bowed before proceeding down the aisle. I notice that the congregation are standing each time a royal walks down the aisle - all very beautifully done so far, and so respectful.
