Welcome to the Best Gown poll for the best gala outfits worn by royals during the celebrations for the wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist, featuring evening gowns from the pre-wedding dinner and the wedding.

I voted for Princess Takamado because the gown left a great impression on me when I saw her walking through the palace courtyard.
My second choice would be Crown Princess Mary because I liked the colour and the way the gown flowed in the breeze.
Third choice for me would be jointly Queen Mathilde and Queen Maxima.

Special prize to Queen Silvia's green trouser suit because it showed off her lovely figure and was a nice change for evening wear.

There were a lot of beautiful gowns, but my favourite clearly was the one worn by Tatiana of Greece. I loved it from tip to toe, the beading, the soft colour, the off the shoulder cut with long sleeves, the accentuated waist, the skirt, the flowing material... perfect!

My Runners up are Maxima and Mary.

This was a very hard choice. I voted for Princess Tatiana because her whole look was exquisite, but others were magnificent as well. Loved Sofia's gown at the pre-wedding dinner, Victoria and Madeleine at the wedding, Queen Maxima and Queen Mathilde and Princess Takamado.

I voted for Queen Margethe. I loved that dress when she wore it at her birthday, and this time Queen Mathilde wasn't wearing her shiny pink dress to steal the vote.
Close second was Queen Maxima, but with Margethe wearing that red dress. ... Plus, I was really hoping Maxima would recycle the gown from her brother's wedding. Margethe and Maxima tied for first in my opinion. But since you can only vote for one...

I voted for Princess Madeleine pre-wedding's gown! She looked marvelous! I also liked Maxima's dress at the wedding celebrations but thye fact that Madde was pregnant and flawless was a total bonus IMO

My vote goes to Sofia. I really loved her dress at her pre wedding dinner. But a close second was Marys dress at the wedding.

I voted for Princess Takamado because, like Jacknch, I was very impressed with her gown when she was walking in the courtyard. It made me think, "Wow!". I loved the colour and the style and the embroidery. A perfect balance of everything, I thought.

My second place goes to Victoria's gown the night before the wedding. I loved the design of the detail work on the overlay. Eye-catching and something I would like to wear, myself.

I also liked Mathilde's gown for the wedding. Different, and a lovely shade and the fabric fell beautifully.

And I liked Silvia's gown for the wedding, which matched those lovely amethysts.

And an Honourable Mention to Silvia for her evening trouser suit. She has a lovely figure and can get away with such an outfit, and I love green. I would have preferred the trousers to be in the same fabric as the jacket, but there was gold detail work down the sides. And I was very excited to see a Queen wearing a trouser suit to such a fancy do. I would like to see more women wearing trouser suits and she set a splendid example, I thought.

Maxima looked very nice but that skirt/train thing was too long for my liking and can't have been easy to walk in. I don't care for the mermaid look.

I thought most of the others were predictable and bland, even if brightly coloured, and a lot of the dresses were too long, in my opinion, though I think that is the fashion. I was looking at those long hems dragging on the ground and thinking someone must have taken very great care to make sure the ground and floor was clear of dirt and dust because those dresses were dragging along the ground and could easily have been soiled.

My vote went to Queen Maxima. I thought she looked stunning. I loved the dress the first time she wore it and am so glad she repeated it so we could get a better look at it this time.

My second favourite would have to be Princess Madeleine. Her dress was very pretty. I loved the colour and she looked radiant. One of the nicest maternity formal gowns I've seen in a while. Her dress at the pre-wedding dinner was also beautiful. For once I liked her style better than Victoria's who was a bit of a let down for me. I was expecting her to wear something more impressive or theatrical like the gown she wore to Madeleine's wedding.

Mette-Marit at the wedding was another disappointment. I was expecting her to wear something frilly and ethereal like the dresses she's has worn to the previous two Swedish royal weddings. The printed skirt was okay but the top was very unflattering.

I was disappointing in Silvia and Victoria's dresses at both events. Madeleine's blue and pink gowns were stunning.

There was many stunning gowns but Maxima looked incredible. That gown is one of the best I've seen.
