Congratulations
Thanks for sharing the information, I expect something fairytale-beautiful-princessy for Madeleine´s wedding, because she has a good taste in fashion and likes glamourous robes:-)

I am very happy to hear that she has chosen a Swedish designer, great idea!
Also, it is nice that she chose a name that is yet not so well known like Valentino or Versace-this way she can support a local designer who is about to get more good press & success when everyone sees Madeleine´s beautiful wedding gown!

It isn't confirmed that Madeleine has chosen a swedish designer, this is just a rumour in the swedish fashion industry, which Expressen writes about. And IMO many of Madeleine's last dresses haven't been so beautiful at all.
These are the Nobel dresses Linda Nurk has designed

Well, obviously my selective memory only kept the images of Princess Madeleine´s beautiful gala gowns and deleted all her fashion faux pas ;-)

So the information who makes the dress will only be released on her wedding day?

I think so, because the designer of Victoria's dress was released to the press after she had arrived to the Stockholm Cathedral to her wedding.

Expressen's royal expert Johan T Lindwall said just at Expressen's live-chat with it's readers, that there will be a third priest at the wedding and of course a good guess is that it is a catholic one. According to him Chris has the honeymoon planned already. He has own friends with private planes, so they don't need Hult's plane. Lindwall said that he has heard that Ivana Trump is coming to the wedding (this isn't official information), she is such a good friend of Eva O'Neill. And the king and queen met Eva O'Neill after Madeleine and Chris had been a couple just a couple of months at Silvia's friend Lena Kaplan's home in Manhattan. As a contrast Lindwall points out that the first time the king and queen met Eva and Olle Westling was at the engagement dinner at the Royal Palace, when Victoria and Daniel had been a couple for almost eight years.

Yes, but if there a personal common friend involved, links are always made more easily. The information of Mr Lindwall can be correct, is he aware of everything about their private lifes ? If it is correct, it is disappointing since the King & Queen had met Olle Westling (possibly also Eva) on their official visit to Ockelbo some time in the late 80's. He made a presentation for them on the work of his social services department.
Fortunately Victoria had a good relationship with them.
Can someone refresh my memory, when did Daniel meet the King & Queen for the 1st time? Daniel mentioned that in a pre-wedding interview.

Yes, of course Lindwall knows that the king and the queen met the Westlings at the 80's, but he meant that the king and queen met Olle and Ewa because Victoria and Daniel were a couple for the first time at the engagement dinner. He has written about this before, and the court has never informed that this is a wrong information.
At those pre-wedding interviews I have seen and read, Daniel never said when he met the king and the queen for the first time. He just said that he had been able to develop a good relationship with the king and queen, they had had many nice Sunday dinners.
The first and almost only photo of Daniel Westling with the king and queen (before the engagement) was taken when Victoria and Daniel were with them at a concert in Borgholm on 17th July 2003.

According to Expressen, Peter Jöback sings at the wedding. He has taken some days off from his role as Phantom at the Phantom of the Opera in Broadway.
Jöback's press contact Marie Dimberg didn't want to confirm this but said "I can't confirm that, it is their wedding, the court has to confirm it".

About the title for Mr. Christopher O'Neill
Mr. Christopher O'Neill is and will remain a U.S. citizen, and he intends to continue his business as before after he has married HRH Princess Madeleine. According to the royal court policy a member of the Royal Court should be a swedish citizen, and not hold a position of responsibility in business.
This means that Mr. Christopher O'Neill - according to those principles - can not bear the title of HRH Prince of Sweden and Duke of Gästrikland and Hälsingland.
With reference to these demands, Mr. Christopher O'Neill has respectfully requested to remain as a private citizen and not bestowed royal dignity.

The official monogram of the couple. It is rather messy, I don't like it at all.

Does it mean that Madeleine will have to renounce her right to the throne?
If they plan to live with their future children in the USA...

If they would decide in f. e. ten years to move (back) to Sweden and he would take the swedish citizenship are then possibilities for him to get the HRH Prince of Sweden, Duke of Hälsingland and Gästrikland?

The Marshal of the Realm announced right after the engagement that Madeleine's position in the order of succession doesn't change.
Interview with Marshal of the Realm Svante Lindqvist - Sveriges Kungahus
But about their children's right to the throne, a political scientist David Ekstrand said on February that the children of Madeleine and Chris may lose their right of succession, if they live in the United States. In the order of succession are two requirements. Heir to the throne should be brought up in and belong to Protestantism. And the heir to the throne should be reared within the country. It is not specifically said that a royal who was born abroad do not get to the throne. Ekstrand doesn't believe that a minimal visit in Sweden is enough.
After The Government Bill on female succession from 1977 Supreme Court wrote in its consultation response: "No other legal consequence would not be eligible than that an overseas educated heir to the throne and all his descendants lose their right of succession."
Ekstrand said that it is therefore reasonable to assume that an heir should have been registered in Sweden for most of his childhood.
Bertil Ternert from the court press department didn't want to comment this.

That is a actual question then if they will get children. Perhaps that will not be told before that.

An article in Aftonbladet, I wish they would have chosen a better photo to it.
Bertil Ternert from the court press department says that this was Chris' own wish. He wants to continue working in USA and made this decision. It remains to be seen how he follows Madeleine when she represents at her duchys. How he will relate to that we will see later, said Ternert.
Chris får ingen kunglig titel Bröllopet Aftonbladet

Expressen's royal reporter Johan T Lindwall says that Chris chooses career before a royal title. Not surprising at all. But at the same time disturbing, because it suggests that the couple can remain away on the other side of the Atlantic for a long time.
Lindwall reminds that when Daniel married Victoria, he had to at the same moment give up all his entrepreneurial career that he had built up over so many years. For Daniel, there was no alternative. As the husband of future queen, he couldn't have a business at the same time.
For Chris, the situation is closely similar. Lindwall says that if Chris had wanted a royal title, he could have demanded it from the king and got it. Then he would have had to close his business in the U.S. By not giving up his career now Chris becomes without a prince title, and it's probably no bigger deal for him. Lindwall sees it's worrying that he wants to continue to develop his career in the United States. Madeleine has also in a short time managed to create a whole new life across there.
Lindwall says that he has always said that the couple will almost certainly move back to Sweden the day they start a family. After today's announcement he is not so sure. It's a pity, says Lindwall, Madeleine had made more good for the Royal House in Sweden than in Manhattan. She is a fantastic ambassador for the royal family in the U.S., but a princess should work in her homeland, says Lindwall.

From the Act of Succession
"In accordance with the express provision of Article 2 of the Instrument of Government of 1809 that The King shall always profess the pure evangelical faith, as adopted and explained in the unaltered Confession of Augsburg and in the Resolution of the Uppsala Meeting of the year 1593, princes and princesses of the Royal House shall be brought up in that same faith and within the Realm. Any member of the Royal Family not professing this faith shall be excluded from all rights of succession".

So if Madeleine and Chris want to keep their children in the order of succession, they must follow this.
