I guess people have an opportunity to see them now, during the carriage ride.

I didn't see a picture of countess Marianne, but countess Gunilla really looks great for her age!

ZDF seems obsessed with Jenny Alexanderson (Swedish royal reporter) btw. Why I don't know because she never said anything remotely interesting.

No excuses!! This is white tie and tiara affair. Her protocol person SHOULD have said something to her about this. I wish Princess Caroline was there instead.

HALLELUJAH!!! Sorry folks, no offense but the Cameo doesn't do anything for anyone. Nice to wear it cause it's tradition but I'm glad Madeleine didn't follow that tradition.

Yes we do and I did exactly that... AFTER the wedding ceremony. I love my engagement ring and didn't want to take it off until the last possible second. Different strokes. Some of my maids were telling me to do it that way and others told me to just do it my way. Madeleine did it her way.

All royal brides (British ones!) have myrtle that was grown from Queen Victoria's bouquet in their own bridal bouquet!. Lovely tradition!

If it truly was Madeleine's wish, I believe she should have thought again!
(But I suspect Victoria and Daniel are doting parents who wanted to bring her; there's a lot of those! And Madeleine decided not to make a fuss in the interest of family peace).
Every wedding I have ever been to had had children in it. Weddings are family events and children are family members. To me it seems odd not to have them present. Is this perhaps more of a cultural thing??

Yippie, the band is playing 'love is in the air' .

The streets were quite empty in the end, reminded me of Belgian/Dutch weddings (save the one of WA). I hope they will shorten the route for CP.

This route was 2 kilometers, Victoria's and Daniel's was 6,8 kilometers.

Just watched a summery of the carriage ride. Come on, Swedes. I've seen more enthusiastic crowds at funerals.
This is after all a festive event.

The British (as well as the Swedish and Danish) royal myrtle is not a sprig from the myrtle queen Victoria had in her bouquet, here is the true story about the royal myrtle: Osborne Myrtle in Royal Wedding Bouquet – My Isle of Wight

The Swedish royal myrtle is as far as I understand a sprig from the Osborne myrtle, it came to Sweden with crown princess Margareta, a grand-daughter of queen Victoria, and it came to Denmark with queen Ingrid.

First, as many of you have said already, I didn't like the choice of adding pop songs during the ceremony. I mean, I would get it if it was just a civil ceremony but they were in a church, I found it quite inappropriate. but still, it was their wedding day, they did what they like, and if the priest was fine with that, then ok. Second, a wedding, even a "state wedding", it's a family affair. if it was me, I'd have loved to have ALL my family with me, even the youngest member (in Italy we have children at the receptions as well...with baby sitters and entertainers for them..so for me it's quite normal). at the same time I'm sure Victoria and Daniel knew the baby girl was going to behave well, otherwise they would have never brought her with them to the service.

I was sorta wondering the same thing. And where is her husband, the Prince? And why did she not have an escort? She looked sorta lonely and I felt for her. She has a beautiful tiara and I was looking for her to wear that. Her gown was pretty but I like her in brighter and lighter colors. She still looks gorgeous.

Yeah, there wasn't as much cheering for them as there was for Victoria and Daniel. But frankly, Chris and Madeleine looked like they could care less. They are so happy and they really enjoyed the ride.

They just explained on Danish TV that the tradition with myrtles came to Sweden (and then to DK) from England. It was apparantly a Victorian fertillity symbol.
