The Family of Chris O'Neill

Chris inheritance from his father: 7 million

When Paul O'Neill passed away in 2004 the one who inherited most was his son Chris O'Neill. Paul O'Neill had made it clear in his will that he would have a larger share of the inheritance than his sisters.
Paul O'Neill had a will, dated 21 June 2000 in London, but it was later registered in the US and in England, to secure up with the laws of both countries.
Those who inherited are, the exchange rate then in 2005 was about it today in 2015, ten years later:
Chris O'Neill: Inherited over 7 million SEK (837000 USD, 740000 euros) and shared his father's personal belongings such as furniture and cars with his sisters.
When the father's sister Cathleen died in 2007, Chris and his three half-sisters shared further 3 million.
Annalisa O'Neill, Stefanie O'Neill and Karen O'Neill:
They got to share the remainder of the inheritance of Paul O'Neill. When Chris got nearly 7 million, she sisters got about 4 million each.
"Miss Chan Ning" got 4.4 million. Marghuerita Day received 264 000 SEK.
The friend and former colleague Hilary Goodson received 264 000 SEK.

Testament also shows that Chris's aunt Cathleen O'Neill was a nun and only the day she would haveleft the monastic life, she could have inherited his brother. Paul O'Neill therefore gave his sister a capital fund of over 3 million kronor to today's exchange rate. Cathleen O'Neill died in 2007 and that was when Chris and his three sisters shared the 3 million.
Expressen has been in contact through text messages and phone calls to Margaret Thorgren to give Chris O'Neill opportunity to comment, but they have chosen not to return.

And why would Chris or the court comment this?

And why would Chris or the court comment this?

I see no need for Chris or the court to comment on this. This happened before he met Madeleine, one assumes that any death duties/taxes were paid, and here's the big one. It's nobodies business but the O'Neil family.

I think they are bringing it up because 7 Mio SEK is not a lot of money for somebody who lives between London & NYC.

Yes, and next they remind that Madeleine inherited 5 million SEK from prince Bertil and about 10 million SEK from princess Lilian.

:previous:
IMO the intent of the article is not to infer that Chris can't support the lifestyle of his and wife lifestyle but rather to speculate about Chris's financial affairs. It's a catty article to say the least.

The article is surprised that Chris's mother is left nothing. Considering that they were divorced and she was already remarried...unless it was a part of their divorce settlement....why would anyone be surprised that she is not mentioned.

According to the article, Chris received half of the trust when he turned 25 and the remaining when he turned 30. The trust was also managed by a respected investment firm. So one would assume that the trust in fact did grow. 7 MILL SEK is approximatiely 8.3 million usd ....not Warren Buffet money but nothing to sneeze at.

I love how in the end that mention that they received no response from the Court and/or Chris. Hopefully the SRF will take a page out of the BRF handbook with the following comment. We do not comment on the personal affairs of Mr. O'Neil. And leave it at that.

The article is catty and even pointless because we dont' know if his father gave something to him in life, how the trust is administered.
Imo, it serves two purposes to speculate on his affairs and to infer that he can't afford his lyfestyle and he has to depend on Madde. About his lyfestyle, if he works and his affairs are good, he doesn't even have to rely so much on the trust.

Chris's unknown wealth in tax haven

Chris O'Neill's father Paul bequeathed officially 25 million SEK to his son and his three sisters.
Expressen's investigation reveals that an unknown family fortune was hidden in the tax haven of Liechtenstein alongside the official Testament - assets that Chris O'Neill chose to pick out just months before the royal engagement.
The family's management company was run by a notorious attorney who has been principal in an international tax tangle.

The secret companies that Paul O'Neill founded in 1973, year before Chris was born in London, are not at the testament.
The management company AEON Management Establishment was formed in the greatest secrecy in Liechtenstein and the country is known as a tax haven and basically all companies lack transparency from the outside. To have a company in Liechtenstein, one needs a lot of money. Unlike Sweden, where there is transparency in the companies it is totally contrary in Liechtenstein. This makes it difficult for an outsider to control any company and its assets.
At the testament of Paul O'Neill left behind are no details of the management company, but Chris O'Neill and his sisters must otherwise have known of his father's company in 2012 when they began picking out parts of the fortune of it - completely outside the official Testament. The assets consisted of large shareholdings in a variety of American and English companies. In 2014, they had emptied the entire company and it officially ended after 41 years on the market. Chris and his sisters became co-owners at company Benson in spring 2012.

In Germany, Paul O'Neill's ownership in Liechtenstein is today known through magazine Bunte. In the latest issue they acknowledge that "there may in recent years have been found an unknown source of income for Chris and the tracks leading to Vaduz in Liechtenstein." The newspaper also writes that Chris O'Neill now since the beginning of February, is regiestered in Sweden: "there is no evidence of any illegalities, but Chris may have to explain to the Swedish tax authorities about his connection to the company in the tax haven".
Already when Paul O'Neill founded his management company in 1973, he gave a notorious lawyer trust to take care of the company. Recent years, various lawyers at his firm have represented the company. The lawyer has a controversial name in Germany and Switzerland when he was a few years ago involved one of the largest tax scandals in modern times.

Did Expressen/Bunte provide any sources for their stories? If these bank accounts and all that were & are so secret, how do they know?

:previous: You expect credible evidence from these two erm . . . . tabloids? Good luck with that one! :flowers:

It really is an all out war and trash trawl on Chris O'Neill and his family, and all because he married a Swedish princess, how very special he must be feeling at this time. :bang:

Obviously Expressen and Bunte have some documents, since at Expressen's article it is said:
In the documents Expressen has taken note of it is clear that Chris O'Neill today in 2015 still has a number of ownership interests in the companies that were formerly under his father's company in the tax haven of Liechtenstein. Nowadays, the company dissolved and all assets in a number of companies have been divided between Chris and his sisters.

Bunte has put the story about the money in Liechtenstein to their website

While I do believe it's true, I don't think he owes anything to Sweden or the SRF at this point.
He could have used this money to buy his NY house or to start up his business. I dont really see the problem now and I really dont' think he has to explain how he used his money to the press.

Swedish press is embarassing.

Oh come on.... an article about a source of money in Liechtenstein of which the article says "nothing illegal about this" and still trying to swing it round to something juicy "but it could be...bla-bla-bla"...
And at the end they show a video of "how in love P.Madeleine was with her ex Jonas"..

Yep, the boulevard-press are having a fieldday with this...

I think Countess Natascha is the sister that Chris is closest to. He might even be godfather to one of her children.

I've been noticing this young woman in the pictures: Milana Abensperg und Traun. How is she related to Chris? Is she his niece? She is one very striking looking woman. A true beauty. :flowers:

Yes she is his niece.

Oh my... what did she wear? It doesn't look flattering... at all!

Not what I would call "age appropriate"... unfortunately as we age (myself included) the skin on some parts of our bodies just does not look good...

I don't like this look either, but it seems better that the outifit she wore few days ago...

I didn't know that Eva has a partner! Or better, I thought her partner/boydriend was the man who sat near her at Christopher and Madeleine's wedding...

The man is Henry d'Abo, the husband of Eva's daughter Tatjana. Tatjana is sitting beside Henry. Wolfgang Seybold was invited to the wedding but he didn't sat with the family.
