I thought all the royal ladies looked lovely today. In fact, I think Victoria looked much better today than she did at Estelle's christening.

Yes, Sofia was her usual inappropriate self. Oh, well ...

Finally, I am "so over" everyone being critical of Madeleine. Correct me, but do all those born as "spares" (e.g., Andrew, Harry, Madeleine, and Carl Philip) have some type of genetic flaw that I'm not aware of? Or, perhaps, the problem is that everyone wants them to be "royal" but not "royal" ... let's see ... they are expected to fulfill royal duties but somehow pack a lunch and take public transportation to some job! It's ridiculous!

Give it a rest people ...

To me the difference is that Andrew and Harry work for their royal title. We see photos of it, if we want to find out. They meet the common people of their country in their duties. Even Carl Philip works, although too little. But Madeleine doesn't work hardly at all, she comes to Sweden to attend at the family celebrations and "represents" like that. But she hasn't hardly any if none, normal royal solo work duties in Sweden. She wants to have all the royal glory without any boring obligations. I know that she works for the World Childhood Foundation, but she could do that as mrs Madeleine Bernadotte O'Neill. We all have our opinions and this is mine. The criticism against the royal family, how much they work and how they spend their apanage is growing all the time. As a fan of the swedish royal family I'm concerned about the future of it.
But this isn't the right thread to discuss about it, back to the christening:

At this photo on the second row are Chris's sisters Karen and Annalisa, Stefanie didn't attend at the christening.

So Leonore sleeping on the craddle is not a big deal.

We weren't talking about that sleeping at a cradle is a big deal. The point was that Madeleine and Leonore were put to a different cradle than Estelle. Estelle was put to the cradle where Carl Philip had also been, the cradle for the heirs and future regents. That was what we were talking about, that Estelle was put to the more valuable and older cradle than Leonore, because Estelle is the future queen.

According to finnish Iltasanomat, Eva O'Neill made two mistakes at the church: she curtsied to the king's sisters, and sat right after Carl Philip escorted her to the church, although all were waiting for Madeleine, Chris and Leonore.

It does seem to me as though Madeleine has got the classic younger sibling syndrome of wanting to have her cake and eat it, too. Probably due to having gotten her will and being spoiled all her life. She wants to live a life in privacy, do a minimal amount of duties for Sweden yet she also wants to be treated like her siblings who work for and live in Sweden as well as titles for her children. However, it's not something new so it doesn't quite bother me anymore.

I haven't gotten around to watching the entirety of the ceremony yet, but what I have seen from it looks lovely. What a munchkin little Leonore is! And I said it when Estelle was christened and I'll say it again: that christening gown is fabulous, it looks so great on little children. Definitely my favourite of all the royal christening gowns. It'll be interesting to see how it will look on a boy. Madeleine looked absolutely stunning and I liked Victoria's dress as well but don't care for her headgear. Little Estelle is just fantastic. I love that Madeleine seemingly insists that V&D bring her to the various things. Definitely goes to show how much she loves her little nieces.

I am slightly bummed that Christopher didn't hold his daughter. I had severely hoped that they would have made a reverted-Estelle and have Madeleine carry her into the church and Christopher carry her out. But oh well, you can't have it all.

i agree, i'm not a fan of what madeleine chose to wear. chris' sisters, on the contrary, look impeccable, just like they always do.

aw, estelle! what a cutie she is. great to see her always beaming. she has to be one of my favourite royal kids.

I thought Sophia looked great, although any number of you will complain that her skirt is too short. I thought she looked modern, and fairly sedate. On her, that non-color striped coat suit was stunning.

So she can't pose - part of her charm seems to be that she is her own free-spirited self. Most of those pictures were caught as she walked.

It is great watching the live events of Swedish Royal Family!!! They all follow the monarchy's traditions.

I really enjoyed everything, love the outfits of Queen Silvia, Madeleine and Victoria. Leonor and Estelle are the cutest girls.

PM is starting to look like a spoiled brat IMO.
As for the Order of the Seraphim all members of the royal family gets it, earlier it was at their 18th birthday, but the king changed the tradition at the baptism of Estelle, so that's why Leonore also got it at her baptism and that's how their future siblings/cousins will get the order.

As for the gifts that Leonore got, I can't say that they were that expensive. Depending on how many books she will get, the sum will probably end somewhere between 5 000 to 10 000 SEK.
The playroom furniture, my guess is that they are made by Guteform Utemöbler- Svenska trädgårdsmöbler från Guteform Design and a garden set for four adults in pine costs about 10 000 SEK, which is not considered much here in Sweden.
As for the Gotlandsruss, she's newborn and it will probably live her first years on Lojsta hajd with her mommy and the other ponies there. You can buy a trained russ for 10 000 - 15 000 SEK, a newborn wouldn't cost the Gotland county council much.

Very kind of Victoria to help her sister at the rehearsals!
There is no reason for the Swedish people to know the cost for single events. The King gets an apanage and he and his staff are responsible for carrying out the royal functions.

Lovely christening from what I could see. So nice that Silvia and mad seemed to have same dress in different colors and similar veils. Never saw much od m,s dress as gorgeous gown was in front of it most of the time. Victoria looked chic with turban like mrs one ill. Estelle adorable in mamas dress. The baby was a real angel
Is there a video somewhere?

Well, they have surely learned something. The court published official photos from Estelle's christening only three days after the christening. This time they have been awake.
