The Diary shows The Princess Royal staying through tomorrow. I tend to trust it because, of the family, Anne tends to load in all her events well in advance of them happening.

yes, they arrive Tuesday, August 16. they will be in Rio through the 21st.

It is now on the Norwegian royal calendar, Haakon will attend the 17th through the 20th

Later today Frederik will present the medals in wrestling: Kronprinsen skal give Mark O. Madsen medaljen: Han får en krammer

This is something Frederik signed on for prior to the Olympics starting.

The various IOC members sign up for events in which they would like to present the medals. Frederik signed up for this because he believed in a Danish wrestler, Mark O Madsen, who indeed is to win either silver or gold tonight.
Frederik is pretty enthusiastic about this and declares he'll probably hug him.
Frederik also says it's a big thing for him personally to be allowed to present medals.

Last night Frederik went to a party for the Danish medal-winners. Kronprins Frederik festede med de danske medaljevindere | BILLED-BLADET

They started out with singing the national anthem with the Minister for Culture and Sport as the lead singer. Frederik also gave a speech. - The party got an extra kick when it was announced that a Dane had just won gold in swimming.
 
very excited to see maxima in rio this year too! wonder how long she will stay there? i guess she may try and have a quick pit stop in argentina to see her family whilst she is so close. (indeed, after checking the official agenda, it doesn't look like they have scheduled events in netherlands, so maybe WA, Maxima and family are planning a holiday there)

King Carl Gustaf and queen Silvia were following the Dressage Individual Grand Prix Freestyle with swedish dressage athlete Therese Nilshagen.
Queen Silvia said that they are very happy to be there, of course. The king said about dressage that it was decent. Everyone can not win a medal, but they all do the best they can. The king said that they are going to follow a lot of competitions. After dressare they went to watch Johan Eurén in wrestling, he lost. The king said that it could have been better, Eurén has won against this guy before.
Then the royal couple went on to handball arena. And although they weren't in Rio last week, they had followed Sarah Sjöström win Olympic gold in the 100 meters butterfly.

A pity that the Dutch king and queen are forced to spend time in the vicinity of Camiel Eurlings (Dutch IOC member), former 'golden boy' of the Christian Democratic party. (the man grinning above Pss Amalia on the photos).

He is currently under investigation for assaulting his ex girlfriend after she asked if he was gay -rumours that have been going around in The Hague for more than a decade. In the mean time doubts have arisen about the reliability of the ex, as she is described as a 'vindictive golddigger' in some parts of the press. Eurlings is now counter-sueing her for defamation and blackmail. He supposedly confessed to the police that he got violent during an argument.

In the past Eurlings assisted the dark forces in his party to form a coalition with the facist party. He left politics in 2012 as he claimed to want to 'start a family', after which he dumped his girlfriend and in quick succession dated several models. He became CEO of KLM -rather fishy since he used to be the minister for transportation. He was fired from this job as he was too busy going to red-carpet events, partying and lousy at his job.

As an IOC member he has not shown his face in public for months, but now he is grinning close to the RF. Why that man still dares to show his face in public is a mystery.

During the opening ceremony it was noted that Eurlings did *not* sit next to the king and the prime minister, as was announced. Apparently some newspapers have photoshopped him out of other photographs of the Olympics as much of the country gets nauseous by just looking at him. Ironically it was the king himself who pressured Eurlings to succeed him as a member of the IOC, but that was before the various scandals.

I noticed the id cards for Wiliem-Alexander and Family are listed as IOC. I believe WA is an honorary member, after his years in the IOC
