History is my thing as well, I get what they're trying to do to tell the story of the UK etc but why? I don't get it.
I do like the Olympic rings thing though.

There was speculation that a lot of what was shown in Beijing was infact CGI, particularly the fireworks. I do, however, agree that no one will beat Beijing, especially not London.

What a thrill to have the Queen feature this way. A truly unprecedented appearance. Remarkable infact!
I also like that Buckingham Palace and it's interior were used for production, including the Queen's private drawing room.

Not the Queen then.
Can you imagine if she really arrived like that?

Bit too much for me, I get James Bond but using The Queen's image like that doesn't seem right.
Archbishop of Canterbury sat there, interesting.

The Queen and James Bond, not a good combination at all. The only good thing in it was that the Queen didn't come out of the helicopter.
This was a totally unnecessary thing at the opening ceremony and didn't suit to my image about the Queen at all.
