Hockey fan Kate jumps for joy as British team beat New Zealand to bronze in 3-1 win and take home their first medal in 20 years
Britain won its first women's Olympic field hockey medal in 20 years today with a 3-1 victory over New Zealand, and the Duchess of Cambridge could not have looked more excited as she cheered Team GB on at the Riverbank Arena. Kate had dressed for the heat wearing a tennis inspired all white outfit, swapping her skinny jeans and favourite Smythe blazer for a ladylike A-line skirt and sleeveless shirt. Dame Kelly Holmes joined the Duchess in the crowd, and their group spent most of the match clapping and cheering as the British team played their hearts out on the turf below.

Yes that is really the cherry on the cake, Carl Gustav got so excited and shouted so loud that he became disturbing for the lady sitting on next row, who just closed her hears!! She had not recognised him... she is reported to have said.

The Olympics are coming to a close and Kate has one more appearance to go. She'll be at the Men's 10 M diving tomorrow. And of course on Sunday she and Harry will be at the closing ceremony.

Great pictures, as usual. Catherine's facial expressions in some of those pictures are priceless. She really got into the match (probably brought back memories of her own time playing field hockey in her secondary school).

Probably because the badge is under her name and not her title. HM Queen Sofia of Spain is her title, Sofia de Grecia is her name.

You get what you ask for. I guess when the Spanish saw the line that said name they took it literally and entered their names and not their titles.

It depends on the browser you are using. If you use Firefox, the pictures won't open, although you shouldn't have problems with Chrome or Opera.

Letizia badge says 'Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano', she probably got it before becoming a princess as the picture itself is old

I've re-posted the pictures from Newscom via a third party here: you should be able to view them without problems. :)
Chrome opens the pictures for me, but if it doesn't work for you, try Opera. Sometimes, refreshing the page a couple of times also does the trick.
 
If like royals are attending like team events and cp frederik and king Carl xvi are in the stands and Denmark wins I wonder if it's awkard to know their team didn't win.
