Nice-Matin has a heart-warming story about a hair salon:

Nathalie Calderini and her team have been busy during the Princely Marriage.
She feels that the last few days and weeks have been a "conte de fée" - a fairy tale. Her salon was selected to do the coiffure of the wedding guests.
The salon is very experienced in chignons and diadems, only this time they were handling real diamonds...
Her impression: "C'état magique !"

Nathalie found "her" ladies very polite
Her impression: "C'état magique !"

Thanks for this feature, Renata.

So does that mean that Prince Albert or the Government paid for the hairstyling services of the wedding guests? Sorry if the response to my question was answered in the article as my grasp of the French language is nonexistent.

YES. The Palace organized a haidressing service for what is called "coup de peigne". A last hairdo in order to put the headpieces, tiaras etc.

Very nice.

They paid a lot more than that. The Monegasque State has paid 98 million euros and got 200 000 visitors.

But from hereon, this needs to go into a different thread.

Many things have been said about the models shown in the ceremonies, so I will briefly say that, in my opinion:
-Charlotte was amazing, as never before: so magnifique! I confess that the outfit of the civil ceremony did not convince me, but later... Incredible. Very stylish.
-Princess Caroline was stunning in blue, and very chic in creamy white.

nowci will say my opinion about the guests:

i have to disagree with you, koko. charlotte was awful. at the civil wed, she looked older and pregnant with that dress. at the religious ceremony and the gala her outfits were fabulous, but her posture and that "i feel so bored" face damage the look. caroline was good in the civil, but in the religious was terrible, and that color? it's a wedding gown color. no one was supposed to wear that color or similar ones BUT THE BRIDE.

stephanie looked very aged, but, her outfits were better than caroline's(and her sicerely happy attitude, too!). beatrice, from 1 to 10, a 20. tatiana, less than 0. alexandra, camille, pauline and louis, very cute all of them.

the rest of the guests, besides beatrice borromeo, the best dressed were mary(i looooove all her outfits, but not her hairdo with the hat) and maxima, 10, 20, 30 and more they deserved!!!!

mette-marit, i only like the gala dress. and the cocktail white dress was recycled. she wore it at cp frederik's 40th b-day.

mathilde was cute. but i didn't liked the gala dress.

victoria looked at the gala like the statue of liberty, all her outfits deserves an 8.

marie of denmark, the only thing i liked about "your" marie was the hat. the rest was very simple and awful(the aireplane has gone for her. when she will get pregnant again?).

madeleine was very cute, i liked her more than vicky, but she looks older than her oldest sister.

for the men, only i have to menton this. what happened to cp frederik? i liked that "rug" that he wore, it was different. that's not my problem with him. my problem is(sorry frede, i loooove you, but it's the true) that it walks alone!!!! i'm seeing that same "thing" since 2001!!!!

that's all what really captures my attention. the rest doesn't impact me enough to comment about them.

Summary of a number of articles in Billed Bladet #27, 2011.
Written by our Monaco correspondents Ulrik Ulriksen & Trine Larsen

This summary is exclusively about members of the DRF who attended the wedding in Monaco and it's placed here in accordance with the forum rules.

Mary, Frederik, Joachim and our Marie arrived in Monaco Friday. With them was an adjutant from the airforce and Mary's hairdresser, Søren Hedegaard, and Marie's hairdresser, Dennis Knudsen. - The two gentleman incidentally went sightseeing together Saturday, when their work was done.
La belle Marie wore Christian Louboutin shoes and a panama hat, when they arrived.
They all stayed at Hotel de Paris a hundred meters from the cathedral where the wedding ceremony took place.
The article hints Mary and Marie went shopping Saturday before the wedding.
From the article I deduce Joachim and Marie strolled along the coast, while Mary and Frederik were seen leaving the back entrance of the hotel along with the CP couples from Holland and Norway. They are, according to the article presumed to have left Monte Carlo in order to go to the beach. They were away a couple of hours.

All the royals living at Hotel de Paris ended Friday evening with a cocktail party at nearby Hotel Hermitage
Mary, Frederik, Marie and Joachim strolled from the hotel to Hotel Hermitage Friday evening where they with other royals joined a cocktail party at the terrace of the hotel. The party was hosted by the Foreign Minster of Monaco and at 22.00 they enjoyed the concert by Jean Michel Jarre from here.
Mary said to the press: "It's lovely here".
When the party was over Joachim and Marie strolled back to the hotel, while Mary, Frederik and other royals waited for a car.

Saturday, the ceremony.
The red west Frederik wore, which stunned the crowd and small dogs, is more than ten years old and it is a gift from a former girlfried, Marie Montell.
Mary wore Prada on her feet. Her metallic blue, or whatever the color is (she looked good), silk dress was also from Prada.
Her clutch was adorned with turquises.
None of the articles offer any explanation as to why Mary wore a plant on her head.

La charmant Marie and her Joachim were also there. Marie with diamond earrings and a new wristband of gold with the letters M, J & H = Marie, Joachim & (bette) Henrik.
Her melon-coloured silk dress was from Rikke Gudnitz.

Saturday, the evening party.
Joachim, wearing his mess uniform from the army, escorted Crown Princess Maxima to the party.
Frederik, in his mess uniform from the navy, escorted Princess Lalla Mariem.
Marie was escorted by Prince Daniel, and she wore a champagne-coloured dress. (I just thought it was white. Oh well...).
Mary amazed everyone in her dress by David Andersen and she was escorted by Crown Prince Phillippe.

Sunday, time to leave.
Joachim and Marie were among the royals who went to a brunch at the palace before leaving. The gentleman seen bowing to Marie, is the manager of the hotel. Marie wore shoes from Christian Louboutin. - Joachim did not, he wore what we in DK call "China-shoes".

- Don't say I don't provide details, eh

Did anyone see John Lehman amongst the guests?
He chairs the Princess Grace Foundation in the US.

Not me she didn't! Rather an ordinary number, if Billed Bladet had asked me..

Louboutins & china-shoes. The latter combined with 'bermudas' are a bit laid-back IMO, however I suppose that Pr. Joachim knows what's he's doing.....

I noticed Prince Edward was wearing his Albert II Enthronement Medal that he received in 2005. I think he and the King of The Belgians may have been the only foreign royals wearing Monagasque decorations.

I just wanted to remark that I am not surprised how kind, giving, generous, and caring Albert was with his guests at his & Charlene's wedding. He has always been this way, it's just the way he is.

He's like the Elvis Presley amongst royalty.

ps: remember, girls, you can always tell how a man will treat you by the way he treats his mother & sister(s). :)

In a wedding full of fashion surprises I still can't believe that Princess Stephanie nailed the look for both the Civil and Religious weddings, even without a hat.

Princess Caroline, on the other hand, alternately looked like a middle aged mumsy on holiday at the beach and then raided her daughter's cupboard for something "fresh" from when she was 13 for the Religious ceremony.

Her gown for the reception was meh but the shoes . . . . . some 80 year old grandmother is spitting tacks about her missing favourites . . . . .

It is her particular way of "speaking". Princess Caroline has always expressed her mood through her dressing style. I am used to "decode" her messages since I was a child

Couldn't agree more. Whatever happened these last few years with her dress sense?

Don't we all express our moods through what we wear?
I thought that's what clothes are for - apart from keeping warm?

This is a very interesting question. Firstly I thought that she did theses appearances in purpose, in order not to be very glam, near the bride. But now, reading your question, I had like a flash idea.
I'll try to explain :
Princess Grace for me, out of being absolutely beautiful, she was, while actress and also while Princess, one of the most elegant ladies of the world. And talking about her "princess" years, I'm talking from her wedding till her 45 years. She was beautifull, elegant, perfectly dressed and groomed. And suddenly, something happened and she "lost" her elegance. She put weight, started to wear flashy, large ugly oldlooking dresses with a lot of "granny" bows, frou frous, etc etc. She had constantly her hair up in this uggly (false) strand in the top of the head! And this happened in her very late 40ies very early 50ies, intil her death! She was another woman!
Maybe Caroline has the same "syndrom" maybe it is like a middle age depression!
Just a thougt! I might be wrong.
