It looks like a normal, standard size and rather boring cake in front of a gigantic cardbord cake dummy. And even if the big thing in the background is a real cake, how do you cut eatable slices out of such a monster?
As for the Vogue spread: It's Monaco, everything is about glamour and PR. The same thing goes for all the advertisments: Lexus adversing their hybrid cars, the jewellers publishing information about the pieces they created for the princess, everybody who delivered as much as a toothpick is talking about it big deal. A lot of money involved and still some kind of cheap.

He surely wasn't there, or we would have heard about it . The press would have been head over heals if he had showed up. No way you'd have missed the headlines .

I think the cake was over the top and not very pretty, especially compared to William and Catherine's...that was one gorgeous wedding cake!
Princess Charlene looks tired and washed out at the brunch, and she looks better with her hair up rather than down because it is so fine....

Have to agree with you on this one. I think this to have been an unnecessary undertaking that serves little purpose. Considerably kitsch, which is unfortunate.

Funny, I was thinking the same Albert. It reflects poorly on him that that one decent, cheerful, French-speaking blond could not be located in all of Europe. Someone elegant and lively with charm and confidence who accepts him and loves him. Most of all, someone who loves Monaco and its people.
Charlene- a sulking dazed ice princess prone to bursting into tears- is already clearly unsuitable for this role.

no one else wanted to stand there.. , (sorry)
Charlene's vacant facial expression might be the way she always looks but she seemed less there than other royal brides on their wedding day. It might be the way she thinks a princess looks or she might have taken a tranquiliser, but again perhaps that is just the way she looks.
Someone commented on the girlfriend of Caroline's eldest son looking arrogant, I did not see it. Charlotte did I think, watched the wedding on German tv and at a certain point Stephanie is looking at her and she looks right through her, completely ignoring her aunt. Ironic since she read God is love etc.
LOVED Charlene's wedding dress and ball gown, Armani is great. She was a better dressed bride than Kate (Catherine) imo.
Caroline looked wonderfull and yes I do agree with some that Stephanie who is younger has aged strangely fast, perhaps she does not care to protect her face.

Does anybody know why the Grand Duke & Duchess of Luxumbourg are front and center with the bridal couple and their families? Surely if they were trying to fill the space they would've picked somebody of higher rank. Are photo line-ups by rank?

As beautiful as the Opera House is as photographed in the couple's first dance, the venue looks cramped and weird -- there were guests in the theater rows, and I'm wondering how conducive the place was for dancing and partying. The stage would not have been big enough to accommodate the guests for dancing and interacting. I wonder if the other royals actually went onstage and danced.

I wish they held the banquet and dance in the Sporting Club instead. We've seen how Caroline and her committee spruce it up during the Rose Ball, and it would have been much more spacious. Also, official photographers would have found it easier to take pics for us to enjoy :-)
