Oh Mills, I do love your fashion choices sometimes! They do provide quite an amusing image to look at.

Lovely images of Charles and Camilla being welcomed. :D I know they likely travel first class/business class on these trips, but I look awful even after a short flight home to Ireland yet they look fine. Of course they are could be exhausted and are just very good at hiding it.

They usually travel by private plane when they are doing a trip like this, but I guess they recognise how important it is to get right the first pictures on arrival in a new country.

Does anyone know if there will be a dinner reception for the royals? & whether Sheikha Mozah will be attending or not?

Prince Charles has just been given a very cute Williams F1 babygro for his future grandchild in Doha #letshopeitsaboy

There are news reports from this tour that Prince Charles is learning Arabic - as if this is new information.

I remember that last year on a TV programme (might have been about the Queen and in the context of the royal collection...not sure; same programme where they showed home video clips) that he said he was trying to learn it but it was difficult.

Can anyone else remember - hopefully more clearly than I can

I don't remember it on a TV programme but when he and Camilla visited Northern Ireland last year he mentioned he was learning Arabic and that it was difficult when someone suggested he learn Irish. I think they were visiting an Irish language centre at the time.

:previous: thank you VictoriaB. I'm not sure if that's the same Tv event but I'm glad that someone else remembers and that I hadn't imagined it. :flowers:

It has been reported a number of times that he is learning Arabic going back many years.

The difference with these reports are that he is now having a private tutor.

Prince Charles learning Arabic
THE Prince of Wales has revealed he is taking Arabic lessons.
Charles told guests at a reception in Qatar that the language “goes in one ear and out the other”, but an aide disclosed that he has been having private tuition for more than six months.

Prince of Wales launches Qatar-UK alumni network
HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation’s Board of Directors, yesterday met with Prince Charles of Wales in her QF office. At the outset of the meeting, HH Sheikha Moza welcomed Prince Charles to QF and briefed him on the existing partnerships between the foundation and a number of British universities, research institutes and technology firms. She hailed the efforts by Prince Charles to promote dialogue among religions and his charity work that seeks to enhance local social development. The meeting also reviewed means of co-operation so as to create programmes that promote dialogue and deepen understanding between religions and cultures. The two sides also agreed to meet again to discuss future plans of these programmes, along the lines of the festival: “Qatar-UK 2013: Year of Culture.” PICTURE: Aisha Al Musallam / HHOPL
