I had a feeling it would be the state landau. Isn't the same carriage that Andrew and Sarah used on their wedding?

I believe so. Isn't this landau also used during the Trooping of the Colour?

From the article above:
Quote:
Come rain or shine, the palace has a plan. If heavy rain fills the London skies April 29, the couple will instead get to ride in the famous glass Coach, which was used by Princess Diana on her wedding day 30 years ago.
This is good to know :) But of course BP has a plan :) :) :)

The Queen has given a stamp of approval to New Zealand Post's tribute to Prince William's upcoming wedding.
The royal wedding stamp issue will go on sale from tomorrow.
The stamp set features Prince William and fiancee Kate Middleton in both a formal pose and a relaxed embrace. Both are $2.40, which is how much it costs to send a standard letter to the United Kingdom.
The Queen had given her feedback on the design and content of the pack.
"Her Majesty conveyed that she likes the designs very much, which is gratifying," New Zealand Post Stamps and Collectables general manager Ivor Masters said.
The last New Zealand Post stamp issue for a royal wedding was in 1981 for Prince Charles and Princess Diana's nuptials.
The Royal Wedding stamp issue includes a miniature sheet, two first day covers and a presentation pack.

Seems as if the father of the groom is going to be walking from the Abbey to the Palace.

According to this source (and stated in earlier information)
SkyNewsHack Paul Harrison
the Queen and DoE and Kate's parents travel in the 4th and 5th Semi-State Landaus from W'minster Abbey to Buck Pal
the Queen and the DoE are riding in the carriages with the Middletons.

Mr Middleton will travel with the Queen and Mrs Middleton with the Duke.

Charles, it seems will be relegated to an also ran on the day of his son's marriage.

This article says that the Queen and the Duke will be in the 4th carriage, and the Middletons, Charles, and Camilla in the 5th.

BBC News - Royal wedding: Kate to use car damaged in protests

Kate Middleton will be driven to her wedding in the same luxury car that was attacked in student protests last year.
The Rolls-Royce, which was damaged by a mob as it took the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall to a theatre, is being repaired for Kate's big day.
The newlyweds will then ride in the carriage used by Prince William's parents after their wedding in 1981.

That the Queen and Prince Philip should be in the carriage immediately behind the wedding party is no surprise. As the monarch she takes precedence over her son. However, the informatiuon that she would rudely "insert" herself into the wedding and publicly humiliate her Son and Daughter-in-Law by usurping their place as the Father and Stepmother of the groom is an absurdity.

Her Majesty is a loving mother and grandmother and the idea that she would cause a scene or incident at her grandson's wedding is both insulting and offensive!

I think these are just malicious rumours by certain sections of the Press.

It makes sense to me that the procession back to Buckingham Palace will be the same order of procession into and out of Westminster Abbey. I believe that it is protocol for the Queen to be the last to enter and be seated before the bridal procession itself. Leaving the Abbey follows the same order so it would make sense that the carriages in the procession back to BP would be the same. First, William and Kate followed by their bridal party, then the Queen and DoE with the parents of the bride and groom after them. Most weddings here in the US has the parents of the bride exiting before the parents of the groom. I imagine as Charles and Camilla are of higher rank, they would exit followed by the Middletons. It would make sense for them to all ride in the same carriage though.

I am wondering about some things though. For the bridal procession, it will be obvious that Kate will be walked to the altar by her father. At the most recent weddings I have been in (as mother of the groom in both cases), both mothers were escorted in by ushers with their spouses following. I am wondering if someone will be escorting Carole and will the POW and DoC walk together or will she also be escorted by an usher? I am thinking that perhaps here is where we'll see the two guys that have been rumored to be asked to be ushers for the wedding?

It's the press. It's what they do. Mention of Diana will no doubt always come up so it's best to just to get used to it, and ignore such sensationalised media.

Yeps... its all how the press wants to present it. On CNN this morning there was a news scroll that just said "Prince William and his bride to use historic carriage."
