BBC just launched the new Own It app, which recognizes if a child is typing something that could be upsetting to the person receiving it and reminds them to rethink what they’re about to send. It can also identify language suggesting a child is in trouble, allowing it to offer advice and encourage them to speak with a trusted adult.

The app has been developed with input and support from many of the organizations and individuals that make up Prince William’s Cyberbullying Taskforce.

“It is fantastic the BBC has launched an app which will provide support to young people as they navigate the online world,” William, 37, said in a statement. “I am delighted to see this positive and practical outcome resulting from The Royal Foundation Taskforce on the Prevention of Cyberbullying.”

That's rather cryptic; with whom did she hold a meeting? And about what?

You’ll see the same thing above with William. It’s a meeting with the principals of the Royal Foundation.

The Duchess of Cambridge made a surprise visit to Birmingham today to launch a landmark survey on early childhood which she hopes will trigger ‘lasting change for generations to come’.

Catherine is on a 24hr national tour marking the launch, visiting Birmingham, London, Cardiff and Surrey

*Understand it's 24hr however, it's hardly a national tour.

A critical stage in a child's development that raises concerns if milestones are not met. Glad to see that the Early Year's program is going forward and that she's visiting outside the London metro area.

So proud of Duchess dedication to the early years program

I feel like this is unimpressive for two years in. Something that should have been done at the start, surely?

With that said, I hope they get quality information and data.

I would imagine too that those two years also encompassed going through giving birth to Louis and then having him as a small baby. Now that he's approaching two years old, Mom can start to leave him home with Nanny Maria and really get active again as she is now doing. ?

Obvious a lot of research and discussions have been done in the past 2 years.

This is just another stage of the program, it doesn’t mean Q&A is kicking the program. It’s to help it move forward.

I am glad she is not focusing on short term glory and rather focus on the right steps to achieve long term results.

I applaud her but the way they laying it out. Her biggest project. 8 years in the making. 2 years of work. A survey of 5 questions to help the next chapter.

Anyways I looking forward to seeing this launch.

Agreed. It's the opportunity to also review programs that are in place and see if the education for parents and their children is helping them to achieve their goals at elementary, middle and secondary levels. It will require more time to review, refine and evaluate.

I think it's great how Catherine has been involved with this - sure, it's something that might take a very, very long time, but I believe it's been very much work-in-progress this whole time. Catherine's dedication and clear interest shines through her work with the Early Years.
