I found this on the Centrepoint website regarding their patron and his interaction with the people that he meets with at their hostels.

Quote:
In the past ten years, Prince William has met many of our young people. Sometimes cameras are there, but often they’re not – a chance for him to talk openly about their experiences and futures. We know that he has been a great inspiration to them, and to us. One of our favourite moments was during his visit to our Camberwell service in 2011 with his wife, The Duchess of Cambridge. Prince William was snapped doing the now infamous ‘swag dance’ with young person Vanessa! He regularly meets the Centrepoint Parliament across our services, taking time to listen to their experiences and learn about what Centrepoint is doing to support them.

From yesterday

Centrepoint chief executive Seyi Obakin said the Duke often paid unreported visits to residents and staff: “The campaign would not have been nearly as successful without the Duke.

"He stuck his neck out and said it’s rotten and awful that youth homelessness is still happening in a country like ours."

Prince William today launched the Centrepoint Helpline as it was hailed a “major step” towards ending youth homelessness.

He joined Evening Standard proprietor Evgeny Lebedev at the service’s central London HQ, listening in to one of the first calls and chatting to staff and volunteers.

The helpline - the first national Freephone service for 16 to 25-year-olds facing homelessness - is a reality thanks to Evening Standard readers.

Our Young and Homeless Helpline appeal, run alongside The Independent and the i newspaper, has raised £3.25 million to fund the service.

Prince William hosted a glamorous night at his palace home on Thursday – to reward those who are helping to turn the tide against homelessness.

The third annual Centrepoint Awards honor the contributions of seven young people for their achievements in areas including education, sports and personal development. The black-tie affair was held at Kensington Palace, where William lives with wife Kate and their kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Like his late mother Princess Diana, William adopted Centrepoint as a key cause – it was one of his first patronages taken on in 2005.

William tells of ‘frustration’ over UK’s homelessness plight | Western Telegraph

Quote:
Figures released last month have shown the number of people sleeping rough in England has risen for the sixth year in a row.
The snapshot survey, released by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, estimated 4,134 people slept rough in 2016, up 16% on the previous year’s figure.
