Disappointing that he couldn't find time in his schedule to physically go and support them in Lyon

I'm not much of a soccer fan but my other half has the game on. Think he'll be annoyed if I cheer on the Lionesses? ?

Interesting, and a nice touch, that William appeared to write it himself.

The Duke of Cambridge, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and President, the Football Association, this afternoon received Mr Mark Bullingham (Chief Executive, the Football Association).

- COURT CIRCULAR || 9 OCTOBER 2019

“A Heroic performance @WelshRugbyUnion, unfortunately this time it wasn’t meant to be.

@AlunWynJones – brilliant leadership as ever. You can all hold your heads high from an incredible tournament, we’re all so proud of you.” W

“Once you start speaking about fitness, we all want to go to the gym and stay fit — well why don’t we do the same with our heads and keep mentally fit as well?”

Glad to see the Welsh Rugby Union assisting those injured in the game and by recent flooding.

The Welsh Rugby Union had 60 buckets for fans to make donations to those affected by the floods, and has pledged £100,000 to support clubs.
Staff have volunteered to help with the clear-up operation across the country.
The union is also taking steps to help with equipment lost in the flooding, as well as providing specialist expertise with recovering and maintaining damaged pitches.
Martyn Phillips, group chief executive of the Welsh Rugby Union, speaking ahead of the match, said: “These are exceptional circumstances and we have therefore decided to allocate dedicated funds and resources to help out rugby clubs in need in communities throughout the country.
“There is money put aside for emergencies such as these and we will take great care to ensure that we target both money and resources in the right areas so that we are helping those who need it most.”
In the article above, William also shares that the Cambridge children have been joining in for the lambing season up in Norfolk where they spent their half-term break this week.

I read that ...that’s just the most precious thing. He said that Charlotte was reluctant, but George just went right on in, lol

Some highlight can be read in below article:

Some (my) selected highlight:
As president of the Football Association, the Duke of Cambridge has been keen to use his role to start conversations around mental health, including helping to rename the 2020 FA Cup final the Heads Up FA Cup final.
(...)
His lockdown experience sounds quite relatable
What are among the things a royal worries about during lockdown? Home-schooling and keeping young kids entertained, apparently.

"I found it pretty testing, trying to keep the children engaged and interested in some sort of work," he says. "It's been an interesting few months.

"I've learned my patience is a lot shorter than I thought it was! That's probably the biggest eye-opener for me, and my wife has super patience."

He goes on to admit he's struggled with year two maths. Comforting.
(...)
He wears shin pads for six-a-side
After being put on the spot, William says he's the only person in his team who wears shin pads.

There is a good reason.

"In school, I basically got targeted the whole time," says William, who says he usually plays at right-back.

Apparently, aged 15, he once asked a police officer with him to use a laser pen and 'red dot' one of the opposition players.

"I kept saying to him, 'see, he's following you'," William laughed: "It put him off for about 10 minutes!"
(...)
He bought binoculars as a present for Kate
When the team talked about bad presents they had given their wives, William admitted he once bought the Duchess of Cambridge a pair binoculars, despite her not being a keen birdwatcher.

"That was early on in the courtship. I think that sealed the deal," he jokes.

"I even tried convincing myself by saying: 'These are amazing, look how far you can see.'"

Asked about Kate's reaction to the gift, he said: "Kate opened them and said: 'But they're binoculars, what's going on?''"

He's not allowed to tweet from the official @KensingtonRoyal account
"They deliberately keep me away from that. When Liverpool won that amazing Champions League semi-final against Barcelona [in May 2019], I grabbed hold of the Twitter thing and just posted.

"It was an amazing match, I was blown away by it. It was one of the best games of football I've ever seen. I got completely out of control. I was like: 'Tweet that! Get it out!'

"And nearly every Villa match we've won - which isn't many this season - I've been trying to get hold of it, but they keep it away from me now."

Other than mental health, it full of football talk, so it may be slightly difficult to follow if you're not familiar with football, especially EPL (English Premier League), some bits that may help:

- William was asked what if George got really good at football, will he let him play for Villa (his favourite team). He answered of course, but then when he was asked what if he supported Birmingham, he deflected it well. Note: Birmingham City is Aston Villa's rival team, their match is called Second City Derby or Birmingham Derby.

- About sacking Gareth comment, it refers to Gareth Southgate, the current England National team manager who has brought England to World Cup semi final two years ago. (Trivia: he played for Aston Villa from 1995 to 2001).

- William mentioned about Frank and Chelsea, Frank Lampard is former Chelsea player and the current manager (just to clarify, manager also means head coach).

- There's a talk about Peter Crouch and Aston Villa. Crouch played for Villa in the past and as he said, he was mostly benched when he was loaned to Norwich City.

- There's a mention about William watching Blackpool game with his RAF mates for a stag do (not his). Blackpool is a football team, they're in lower division this season.
