Exactly Cepe.

At least 6 weeks ago the security people would have gone out to Kenya to check on all the places William would go - and that meant that at least that long ago the arrangements for William to met the President were put in place. This isn't a last minute thing at all but a planned engagement that wasn't announced in advance.

The anti-William/anti-royal brigade like to portray the royals with power and clout that they don't have and to think they can demand a meeting with the Head of State of a Sovereign nation on a whim.

Normally when royals travel overseas for private purposes they don't meet the Head of State - that happens on approved, planned and official visits.

The declaration was signed by Jet Airways in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, during the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's visit to New Delhi.

By becoming a signatory to the United for Wildlife (UFW) International Taskforce on the Transportation of Illegal Wildlife Products, Jet is among the few the few airlines in Asia Pacific to join the initiative.

The Duke of Cambridge, who set up the Taskforce in 2014, under the auspices of the UFW, hailed the Declaration as "a game changer in the race against extinction."

I wonder if William & Kate had a private celebration drink the other day over the wonderful news about the World's Tiger population growing for the first time in decades? Even if it was water, like I did, this news more than calls for a toast. Long, long way to go yet, but it is a big one.

I really hope it was water. With all the forward strides being made in the area of conservation of the earth's endangered animals with United for Wildlife and Tusk and other agencies that have become involved through William's work with the Royal Foundation, if they drank in celebration for each step forward, it would be one tipsy couple we'd have that would give new meaning to "highness".

Step by step, inch by inch what is being done is working but yet there's so much left to do.

We are happy to welcome three of the biggest transport companies in India to our Taskforce!

Representatives from across the transport sector in India have joined global leaders in signing the Buckingham Palace Declaration, showing their commitment to fight criminal wildlife trafficking.

At a ceremony on 11 April at the Residence of the British High Commissioner to India, Sir Dominic Asquith, KCMG, three of the biggest shipping and airline companies in India signed the Buckingham Palace Declaration in the presence of His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge.

The Maersk Group, already a signatory, was also present.

The Buckingham Palace Declaration commits signatories to eleven commitments that will raise standards across the transportation industry to prevent traffickers from exploiting weaknesses as they seek to covertly move their products from killing field to marketplace.

In a recorded message to the IATA AGM delegates, His Royal Highness Prince William the Duke of Cambridge urges the industry to unite in support of this cause.

Dublin – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) 72nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) unanimously endorsed a resolution denouncing the illegal trade in wildlife and wildlife products and pledging to partner with government authorities and conservation organizations in the fight against the traffickers of endangered animals.

“The illegal wildlife trade threatens the survival of many endangered species, the local communities and businesses that depend on them, and poses a risk to health and safety. In line with our broad commitment to sustainability, the airline industry is reinforcing its role by helping to shut down the vile activities of poaching and trafficking,” said Tony Tyler, IATA’s Director General and CEO.

EXCLUSIVE: Prince William: My tribute to Africa's unsung heroes (with new photos) @tusk_org
Quote:
The Duke of Cambridge visited the frontline of Kenya’s battle against poaching. Here, he reveals the stark reality facing African wildlife – and the safari industry upon which millions of people rely.

My recent visit to Kenya highlighted what, sadly, I already knew – that some of Africa’s most iconic animals are perilously close to extinction, with their existence threatened daily by the illegal wildlife trade.

It was a privilege to see Edward Ndiritu, the head of anti-poaching for Lewa and the Northern Rangelands Trust, and his amazing team, all of whom have shown extraordinary commitment to their work.

Without people like Edward – who I presented with last year’s inaugural Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award – and countless other unsung heroes courageously battling the war against poaching, we would be living in a world without elephants or rhinos.

That is not just an emotional statement, it is the stark reality of the situation and one that would have devastating consequences felt most acutely by the communities that live alongside the animals.

The Duke of Cambridge will intensify pressure on politicians to ban the sale of ivory this week, as senior Tories demand Theresa May acts now to protect elephants and rhinos.

The Duke will make a speech to be broadcast around the world on Thursday, demonstrating his determination to help save endangered African wildlife.

While he is expected to be scrupulously careful to avoid criticising the government, the Duke will win praise from leading Conservatives who want Mrs May to do more.

At last year’s general election, the Tories promised action to ban all ivory sales although this pledge has not yet been implemented. The proposal has been criticised by antiques dealers who say it will put them out of business.

The Duke of Cambridge has revealed his delight as two critically endangered rhinos gave birth four years after he waved them off into the wild.

The two female eastern black rhinos were bred in captivity in Kent before leaving for Africa in 2012, when Prince William gave them a Royal send-off.

Having been raised at the Aspinall Foundation’s Port Lympne wildlife park, the two rhinos, called Grumeti and Zawadi, were released into the wild near Mount Kilimanjaro.

They have both given birth to healthy babies after they mated with a male who had also been bred in captivity.
“It’s great to hear the news,” said the Duke. “The past few years have been a dark time for African rhinos.

“This success story reminds us what can be achieved by committed conservationists even in the face of considerable challenge.

“It is incredibly difficult to get rhinos that have previously been in captivity to breed in the wild,” he told the Mail on Sunday, “so huge congratulations to the team that made this happen.”
