With five years of official appearances under her belt, the novelty of Kate as a new member of the “firm” has worn off.

Her day-to-day appearances are not commanding the attention they once did and glowing coverage has given way to questions about her working timetable and use of taxpayer-funded helicopters.
perhaps her newness has worn off, but I would definitely argue that she doesn't grab the attention she once did. When she steps out and is photographed, she's always on the front page of tabloids & newspapers. It's such a stupid thing to say and simply not true. Not to mention, there's plenty of negative press about her. That may not be "Glowing coverage" but it is coverage nonetheless.

The Mirror isn't worth to read. There are so many factual errors in this article that it just gets ridiculous.

Prince William and Kate will have a packed schedule from day one of their maiden visit to India, which begins in Mumbai on April 10.

The British royals will stay at the Taj Mahal Palace. A source told HT, “They will first make a short appearance at former cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar’s Cricket Academy, where they will play cricket with children from NGOs. Sachin Tendulkar will join them there.”

This will be followed by an entrepreneur’s convention in south Mumbai, where they will interact with young entrepreneurs.

Later, the couple will be introduced to some of the biggest names in business and Bollywood at a grand dinner in the Taj’s Crystal Room.

A source said, “Each guest has been invited by the British High Commission. The guest list includes personalities from the worlds of business, sport and film.”

Well the terror level in Mumbai is no higher than London or other European capitals.

The visit hasn't been cancelled

The likelihood is, however, greater. But the BRF rarely cancel tours and British security (of the highest level) are already out there

Some people asked why events were all dual and this is the reason. Safer to focus security in one place.

And for those who think tours are easy and a holiday, thy couldn't be more wrong.

For people not familiar with the Commonwealth, a High Commissioner is a diplomat. Like an ambassador. When William and Catherine do something on behalf of the High Commission, they're doing it for the government.

Quote:
Britain’s royal couple Prince William and his wife Kate’s India visit that starts from Mumbai on Sunday could be ‘full of surprises’, according to officials from the British high commission. The week-long tour which includes a two-day stay in the city would comprise multiple events where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would meet people from different walks, officials added.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge: Visit to India - April 10-16, 2016

The High Commissioner is the ambassador in job duties and rank. There isn't an ambassador to India from the UK that is above the High Commissioner. He/She is the highest British Diplomat in the country.

Here's the High Commissioner for India. He will probably will be seen with the Cambridges.
