'Jiggly jugs and yummy bums': What do Kate and the Royals think of brother James Middleton's saucy cakes?
Quote:
Little brothers have always been a source of juvenile humour - but this one really takes the cake. James Middleton, whose older sister is the Duchess of Cambridge, has launched a business specialising in cakes iced with smutty slogans. The 24-year-old's edible designs cut a stark contrast with the Royal Family's famous sense of decorum, offering jokes about 'jiggly jugs', 'yummy bums' and 'wriggly willies'.

Is this really news? Not directed to you, but the paper that wrote the article. Must be a slow news day, from what I know James has behaved very well since the dress incident; and his business I hear is a great success.

Kate's folks call time on local
Quote:
Carole and Michael Middleton’s days of heading down to their local watering hole are sadly over. Kate’s parents, who used to enjoy a quiet gin and tonic at the Queen’s Head in Chapel Row, Berkshire, have been put off visiting their local after a map was posted on the internet highlighting their favourite haunts. Tourists have been flocking to the area hoping to share a pint with them,’ says a local.
‘A lot of American tourists, particularly, are desperate to catch a glimpse of one of the Middletons and they stake out the local pubs.’
The Duchess of Cambridge’s parents have already been besieged by fans turning up at the door of their home bearing gifts and fan mail for the Duchess and her sister Pippa.

I agree, but these days anything with the name "Middleton" in it is bound to sell papers - and that's what matters for DM, doesn't it?

I suppose the idyllic days of living anonymously in quiet rural Bucklebury are now over for the Middletons.

Wow . Some really have no concept of 'privacy'. Why would anyone in his/her right mind turn up at a home of a public figure without being invited. That's not being a fan or supporter. The correct name for these nuts is 'stalkers'. Seriously, Catherine and her family are human beings, and not exhibits to be stared at in a museum or zoo.

Wow they just don't have any sort of privacy anymore now that they are in-laws of the royal family.

There are two girls on tumblr/twitter who went to visit the Middletons to drop off a fan book for Pippa and posted about their visit with pictures and everything. The posts have since been taken down, but they thought nothing of going right up to the front door, knocking and trying to give Carole the book. Of course she couldn't actually take the thing. How is she supposed to know what it really was?

The girls still insist they did nothing wrong because "lots of people" visit them. They weren't the only ones was their justification. Personally I can't figure out how they ever thought it was a good idea.

PIPPA AND KATE'S FANS ARE ALL OF A TWITTER AS THEY DROP IN ON THE MIDDLETONS

Perhaps those 'lots of people' that visit the Middletons are close friends/business associates/relatives of the family. These girls are lucky they didn't get caught by authorities and put on a 'stalker' list. If my child ever did anything like this. I won't allow him/her to do anything without adult supervision for a very long time. Talk about poor judgement.

the people who showed up were just two little girls who wanted to give some gifts to pippa. nothing harmful and i can't understand why someone would be upset by it.
unfortunately, all this comes with fame, as do other many positive things. i guess both kate and her family evaluated the positives and negatives before the engagement and they were all happy with what it would involve before they took the next step.

There was an article these days mentioning that the Middleton's have sought permission to build an additional "granny's flat" and a home office as annexe to their garage. I thought on reading that that this is probably to house the security officers of William and Catherine during their stays with Catherine's parents - but now I could imagine it is to house the Middleton's security staff or at least a gardener's lodgings where someone lives who is employed to take care of gardening and "receives" such uninvited visitors.

My first thought matched yours - that the addition will provide an office and place to stay for the security officers for the Duke and Duchess.

The problem is that the Middletons have no idea that these girls are harmless. I would imagine having strangers coming up to your door all the time would be a bit frightening as well as annoying.

I have no problem with them wanting to give a gift to Pippa. But, send the gift by post, don't walk up to their door! I do not understand this whole idea that the Middletons have to give up their privacy because their daughter married Prince William. What happened to common courtesy and manners?

Must come in the wake of modern times, that people believe they have a right to get in touch to anyone they feel like.

That's why so many stars like to live in Switzerland - because here they do not get asked for fotos or autograms or what ever all the time.

I would want to see them, if unasked strangers would show up at there door all the time.. who would be keen on that?

That's an assumption. We don't know if they were 'all happy' at all with the changes they bargained for - never mind the changes they didn't bargain for.

A question: are the Middletons being particularly focused on because - why? Other handsome children still unmarried? Middle-class - like 'us'? Because I don't recall - though I was not on TRF then - Sarah Fergerson's or Diana Spencer's or Sophie Rhys' families having to put up with media attention solely because of their new royal connections - or am I mistaken?

I agree; that's a scary situation to have perfect strangers come to your door and try to hand you what they say is a gift, even if those girls seemed harmless. The next visitors may not be. The fact that people unknown to the Middletons are aware of where they live and feel entitled to drop in on them is a no-no in my book. And where's the common sense of the mother who supposedly dropped the teenagers off at the house? I wouldn't want to be encouraging my child to go uninvited to a stranger's home; just because you have access to their property doesn't mean you should take advantage of that. Now that their daughter is a royal, this is a different playing field. I'm sure the Middletons will now have to deal with what could be the beginning of security breaches and will have to take steps to ensure their privacy and safety.

Their home improvements should include a security fence and cameras to keep these "fans" away from the house.

Including an alarm system plus anything else that the public may not be privy to.

As to the scrutiny of the Middleton family, I too was not on TRF during the other royal weddings and would be curious to know if the other families faced such scrutiny. Maybe it it just a factor of the current times, the internet, etc.
