Our Royal Patron HRH The Duchess of Cambridge will visit our Quidenham hospice on Tuesday, 24 January to see for herself why the nook appeal – which she helped launch in 2014 – is so vital.

The Duchess will tour the hospice and meet with children, young people and families as they take part in an art therapy session and use equipment in the sensory room.

She will also spend time with the staff and volunteers who work at Quidenham as they update Her Royal Highness on the nook appeal and our urgent need to raise funds.

Our Royal Patron HRH The Duchess of Cambridge will attend the opening night @42ndStreetLDN supporting #thenookappeal

HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, who is our Royal Patron, will be attending the opening night of popular Broadway show 42nd Street in London in support of the nook appeal.

This special event is taking place at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on Tuesday, 4th April. The new revival of the classic musical stars Grammy award winner Sheena Easton and is expected to be hugely popular, as even the preview performances have received standing ovations!

Michael Linnit and Michael Grade, together with The Global Group of Companies for Gate Ventures, will be very kindly supporting the nook appeal for the run of the show. We have already been pledged a gift of £250,000 towards the appeal from one very generous donor.

Kate attended the West End revival of the Broadway hit at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in her role as Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

She teamed the full-skirted ankle length dress with a jewelled belt and maroon heels and a clutch bag.

The stage show, which stars Grammy award-winning singer Sheena Easton, is helping to raise money for the charity as funds are required for a vital new purpose-built hospice in Norfolk called The Nook.

Ahead of the show she was greeted by the show’s co-producer Lord Michael Grade, as well as director and author Mark Bramble and 12-year-old Ollie Duell, from Cambridge, who has used the services of EACH.

“The Duchess’s visit will come almost five years to the day since she attended the launch of our public fundraising appeal at Norfolk Showground and exactly two years since spades first went in the ground at our site in Framingham Earl.”

HRH is royal patron of East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) and five years ago was at the Norfolk Showgrund for the launch of the appeal for the new nook hospice at Framingham Earl, which is replacing the facility at Quidenham,

On Friday November 15 the duchess will tour the new hospice, which includes a hydrotherapy pool, state-of-the-art sensory room and music studio.

During her visit, she will meet children, young people and families taking part in arts and crafts activities.

The duchess will make a short speech to invited guests before unveiling a plaque to formally open the purpose-built hospice.

Great to see Catherine again today. Seeing the royals at physical engagements rather than Zoom calls gives me some hope that things will be back to normal very soon.

The EACH director Tracy Rennie reflects back on Catherine's interest in the hospice dating back to 2011. She also comments upon the Duchess' public and many private visits to the facility over the years.

Tracy says: "We never underestimate the impact that she has when she speaks to family, and also when she speaks to staff and volunteers.
"She really recognises how hard people work, and the stresses and strains on emotions of volunteers working with the charity as well."
As well as the public visits we see, Kate carries out a number of private engagements where she gets a better idea of how things run on a day-to-day basis, without all the crowds and photographers.
Tracy explains: "It gives them more of an opportunity to have a more relaxed time, less pressured, to really understand what we do.
