I was wondering if something to do w/SportsAid was in the cards during their time in Glasgow. It only makes sense after all to do a session like this w/younger athletes during the Games IMO.

Kate's plan for sailing success: The Duchess of Cambridge gets behind Britain's bid for America's Cup glory as she becomes patron of the 1851 Trust | Daily Mail Online
Quote:
She's long been a fan of sailing, famously beating husband Prince William during a race around Auckland Harbour during the Royal Tour Down Under.

Now Kensington Palace has announced that the Duchess of Cambridge has become royal patron of a new sailing charity, The 1851 Trust, which aims to help bring the America's Cup home.

In a statement released by the palace, the Duchess spoke of her love of sailing and said she hoped the trust would inspire a new generation to take up the sport.

Kate Middleton: Live updates as Duchess of Cambridge meets young Olympic hopefuls - Mirror Online

Pregnant Kate is pretty in plum as she meets young athletes in Essex | Daily Mail Online
Quote:
A group of young athletes with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in their sights got a boost from the Duchess of Cambridge today, as she visited a SportsAid workshop during a visit to Essex.

The Duchess, a keen sports fan herself, was all smiles as she toured the GSK Human Performance Lab which puts athletes through a series of advanced performance assessments in order to produce personalised training data for coaches.

But with her second child on the way, it seems unlikely that the Duchess will be doing much sport herself until after the birth, which is expected to happen some time in April.

It just makes realize even more how there are things going on behind the scenes that we never see or hear about. I would imagine that if it had just been a meeting without the reception, we wouldn't have caught wind of it.
