Just had a thought. As its been stated that perhaps the Cambridges want a big family, they could go really, really traditional and have all boys and name them George I, George II, George III and so forth.

I would love to see Patrick as a first name. It would be a lovely tribute to Ireland. I think Julia would be a nice first name too. It's traditional, with a touch of originality.

I thought of Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain who had Julia as third name. It would be too sweet.

The child could be born on the WWI Centenary of Gallipoli; on the 25th April.

For lighthearted consideration - some WWI and ANZAC Day inspired guesses ...

Anzac Johnny Mehmet
Francis Cornwallis Anzac
Edgar Ataturk Wilfred

Matilda Gallipoli Tulip
Elizabeth Poppy Dardanelles
Serena Amity Pacifica

And an April the first birth! ...

Jerry Lewis Jokestar
Ronald Charles Marcel - Ronnie 3

Luna Trixie Belle
Houdinia Rose Hermione - HRH

Now that is just too cute. Boris. Hmmm... interesting name that's not cropped up yet.

Prince Boris...well, it does have a ring to it. I highly doubt that it would be chosen, but it would certainly be different. In any case, I just enjoyed watching the corgi cuteness on display .

James and Henry are popular with the bookies but those names will not be used. I never understand why people get on those names. Even if they don't know young James Severn, people know Kate's brother is called James.

I agree. I've settled on some combination with these two names, but I am very partial to having a Princess Charlotte. Now watch them name her (because it is going to be a girl ) Christabel.

I like both of these except for the Arthur - if they must I'd like to see it as a middle name.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Nimue. After all, Lady Nimue was a rather important personage in King Arthur's time. Caused Arthur quite a bit of trouble, the vixen! Princess Nimue. Has a ring!

Whilst I personally am not a fan of Cecily, I think the idea of a Princess Cecily would be fantastic! Princess Cecily of Cambridge sounds wonderful, and I love your combination of Cecily Rose Victoria. I think Princess Cecilia of Cambridge also sounds lovely, but out of the two names, I have a feeling that Cecily would be more likely. I'm not sure if Christian would be chosen as a first name (but it could be possible as a middle name, wasn't one of Edward VIII's middle names Christian?), as it is the name of the little Danish Prince – but the BRF aren't that close to most of the European RFs, so that might not be a problem for William and Catherine, however I've always gotten the impression that the Danish and British RFs are quite close. I remember reading that CP Frederik and CP Mary called William and Catherine when George was born to congratulate them.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Boris Johnson would be a namesake… he is a distant relation of the House of Hanover, after all

Another version of that name is Vivian.
Princess Vivian sounds quite regal.
