Duke & Duchess of Cambridge: Visit to Singapore, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu - 9/2012

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Catherine looks fuller in the face indeed - especially the cheeks. And she was drinking only water.
I assume she is pregnant, but they will wait for after the journey to announce it. So possibly a new little heir for Britian in March or April. :)

I doubt the palace and Dr's would risk her to fly 14 hours straight (I assume it was a direct flight) and have a busy schedule and still travel to other countries. Especially if she was in her first 3 months, she could easily have a miscarriage. I assume she also drank water instead of wine at another event (Cant recall) which.

I haven't read any press articles that mention the wine, it was a poster that mentioned it.

Dazzling - I don't think it was a direct flight, they left the UK at midday yesterday and arrived in Singapore 2pm there time today.

So are they there yet? Are they there yet? The suspense is killing me! Its about 8 thirtyish in the morning here in Hawaii. Anyone heard anything at all?

Having traveled across multiple time zones many times, the last thing I have ever wanted is an alcoholic drink. I'm already tired, were I to have a drink, my face would be in my dinner. Not exactly the impression the DoC would want to make.

Agreed. Having a cocktail would not have been the smartest thing to do. I have to say that Catherine looked lovely. Both outfits were beautiful and she looked pretty good considering the long flight. I was so hoping for a tiara event though. Oh well, its not all about me. :)

Thank you for directing me. And good job on your video. Cant wait to see more. :)

People who speculate about this woman's uterus need to get a life and a hobby. How about taking up gardening?

While a pregnancy announcement would be wonderful, I don't think Catherine not being photographed taking a sip of wine during a meal means much either way. And the fuller face is easily explained by the long flight, as others have said.

I was just about to say the same thing, Duchess. If I'd just got off a long haul flight, was suffering from jet lag, had to head out in humid 90 degree heat to a public engagement with masses of press, even just a few sips of alcohol would either knock me out completely or make me high as a kite. I somehow doubt that's the impression the royals go for when making official overseas visits.

Fair play to William and Kate; they don't look jet lagged, you'd never guess they'd just stepped off a long haul flight. Kate's new hairdresser has done a good job, in that sort of humidity my hair just turns into a frizz bomb whatever I do with it.

I hate all this "she's pregnant" nonsense. I would be very shocked if the Palace announced she was pregnant. There is no way her doctor would let her do such an exhausting tour in her early stages of pregnancy. Not only that, Catherine herself would likely be so tired if she were in the early stages, and possibly suffering from sickness. Drinking water is nothing; she probably did not fancy an alcoholic drink having had very little sleep and travelling through several time zones. If Catherine were pregnant I would think, if she had cared at all about her unborn child (which I am sure she would), she would choose not to go. Sophie's pregnancy with Louise was announced early because she was due to go with Edward to the Caymen Islands, however she was advised not to go. Catherine's situation would likely be the same, if she were pregnant.

I am sure the Queen also chose not to go on a Tour as she had just found out she was pregnant with Edward. I am sure I read that somewhere in history, though I could be wrong.

Anyway, I hope Catherine gets to wear a tiara at some point. I would like to see her in a tiara, and I wonder if it would be the Cambridge Lover's Knot. Either that or we will see if she has been given another one.

I am surprised too with how well the video turn out!! It's a once-in-a-lifetime event for me. Will be going to the 2 venues (Gardens By the Bay and Strathmore Green in Queenstown) to see them today. Hopefully can get some good photos and video.

i remenber the swedish media was crazy when they knew that Victoria wanted water instead of wine(or champgne, i dont recall), the magazines went wild saying that she was pregnant, actually she was, it was announced like 1/2 months later...

but not all women like wine, i dont like it, and maybe Catherine likes wine but was not in the mood to drink it. but considering how famous they are, Will as the heir, a baby for a young couple, a birth of a future monarch and they go for their 2nd wedding anniversary, its NORMAL that media starts to speculate wheither she is pregnant or not, and it will be worse as the time goes on.

I am so jealous. For those of you who have not looked in advance at the venues for tomorrow, the Gardens by the Bay are G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S! see... Gardens by the Bay

Can't wait for your report and THANKS! :flowers:

Just to add my two cents to debunk the pregnancy rumors... People are already at higher risk of developing blood clots on such long flights, and pregnant women are at even higher risk of developing blood clots due to increases in fibrinogen and blood volume... I HIGHLY doubt they would allow her to take such long flights if she were pregnant.

On a totally different note, I always feel sorry for the guys - that we do not pay them enough attention.

To that end, I want to see the Prince in a grey suit with a lavender tie. I thought the light blue tie was great on him and I want to see more non-red and non-navy!

Sophie's situation was a bit different, because she'd already suffered an ectopic pregnancy, so I think she likely took extra precautions. Whether or not to travel, etc., when pregnant is something the doctor and the woman herself would need to decide on an individual basis. I think I seem to recall that Crown Princess Mary had just returned from an oversees tour when she announced her pregnancy with Christian (and I think she may have traveled to Australia early during the pregnancy too, though I'm sure others might remember better!)

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I really have no idea whether she is or isn't expecting, though I do always find it amusing when the media gets so focused on whether or not someone has taken a sip of wine!

And I, too, hope we see a tiara on this trip. That would be a nice fashion highlight!

The mods are going to shut this thread down if the pregnancy speculation doesn't stop and I'll be a sad panda.

I admire anyone who can get off a 14 hour flight looking completely put together and then putting in two or three engagements. Just the thought of it would stress me out. Great job to William and Kate and looking forward to the rest of the tour!

So at 6:45pm PST they will begin their day. The second stop will be at 8:45pm PST, then third stop at 11:45pm PST and their final stop will be at 12:15am PST

The Prabal Gurung dress she wore was probably one of the best looks she's ever had...hopefully she continues to experiment outside of British fashion. She really pulls off those bold colors.

Let's cool it with the pregnancy speculation.

Going forward any and all posts that discuss a Cambridge pregnancy will be deleted without notice.

Nice to see the Canadian ex-pats in Singapore turning out to see William and Kate. You Canucks certainly do get around - in a good way of course ;)!

I like the dress, but she will be criticized if she wears too many clothes from designers who are not British, even though he was supposedly ecstatic that she wore his dress!

(Diana considered it part of her job as a British princess to promote British designers).

I think it's ok for Kate to stray from that on occasion but she shouldn't do it too often.

I doubt anyone would criticize her for wearing a designer born in Singapore when she's on an official tour of Singapore.

Lovely video! How great that she waved at you :D. Thank you for sharing.

@ Daria- The Duke and Duchess will visit a special-needs school tomorrow.:D I can only imagine magic and sunshine will be on full flow.... I've always wanted to fly to Singapore, you in?
Seriously though cannot wait for photos! I better stock up on tissues!;)
And like I mentioned the Duchess is visiting a child hospice in Malaysia, wow, yeah I need to stock up!;)
P.S. This would have been the perfect royal tour to bring RH along.... just gotta say that!;):D

Hey, I'm all for flying out to Singapore, as long as I can bring my class-full of princess fans along for the trip. I can imagine the fighting over who gets to sit next to/color with/you name with Catherine (they love all things princess-related, and the boys don't seem to mind). On a serious note, I think this will be a great memory for all involved, because the kids are going to get two very caring and genuine people to visit their school, so it can't be otherwise. Same for the hospice; when you have someone who is truly passionate about a cause, there's no telling what miracles will be performed. I've seen it with my own eyes.

Who is RH? I've been racking my brains trying to figure that out.

We're referring to British actor Robert Hardy ('Harry Potter', 'All Creatures Great and Small'). He supports causes that are similar to the ones of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and all three of them have a very similar manner with people, so it's quite delightful (and heartwarming) to watch them in action. We're hoping they'll do an engagement together at some point, and brighten up a great deal of lives.

Prabal Gurung was born in Singapore and lived part of his childhood in Nepal and India. Catherine honored the local country by wearing one of the well known designers with ties to the area.
