Their Royal Highnesses will then make their way in an open-topped vehicle to the Church of Melanesia cathedral in Honiara, where they will attend a joyful service of thanksgiving for the life of dedicated service of The Queen.
Following the church service, in the evening, The Duke and Duchess will attend an Island Feast, given in the traditional manner outdoors, hosted by the Governor-General at his official residence. The Duke will use the occasion to pass on Her Majesty’s warm wishes in a speech. Shortly before the State Dinner, the Duke and Duchess will pay a private call on the Governor-General and his wife.

I really like the picture where the sun shined on them on the float. That's a beautifil welcome they recieved. I know they are really enjoying this trip.

Daria - thanks for pointing this out. I had wondered what happened to the planned lunch and seeing the orangutangs. Glad the couple got to see them. You are so right about the additional quips adding depth and insight into the trip and the state of all things "Will and Kate."

From the Daily Mail, a report and photos from the official dinner this evening in the Soloman Islands:

The Duchess of Cambridge had a last-minute change of wardrobe when she ditched plans to wear to the banquet a dress she had brought from London and chose instead one that she had just been given by her Solomon Islands hosts.
She made the switch just half an hour before the banquet when she walked into her room at the hotel in Honiara and discovered that the government had left her a strapless dress with a bright pink and orange batik design.
'She tried it on, she loved it and she is wearing it,” said a royal aide. The dress came from a shop called Island Print.

William was also wearing a shirt he was given by his hosts, although he had an idea what they were giving him as they got in touch with William's office for his measurements!

They both look great and seem to be really enjoying themselves. I have to say, I love the exotic feel from these little Pacific Islands. They may be tiny but they're bursting with colour and fun and a zest for life.

One of the dancers noted that in earlier times, the island folk might have been bursting from royal a la mode!

Next the couple have separate engagements. William will briefly attend a conference given for youth leaders from the Commonwealth leaders in the Pacific where he will be invited to give some short remarks. The Duke will subsequently award six Duke of Edinburgh gold awards to Solomon Islanders and one awardee from Vanuatu. Meanwhile, Kate will attend a reception for Solomon Island women's groups.
