I wonder if it is a requirement that William's hands be free for the "Royal Meet n Greet", and that prevented him from carrying George down the steps. George looked like he was ready to do some greeting of his own, he's adorable.

George is very cute, he has probably inherited the best from both parents.

I hope it was not too cold weather for him at the arrival.

Kate's legs looked great, and the Maori warrior's derriere was especially attractive.

Expense of Entourage

Since Rebecca Deacon is often near to Kate taking flowers and assisting in other ways, she also needs a very presentable wardrobe. Is she provided an expense allowance for that, especially for a trip like this one? I've heard that employees of the royal family aren't paid huge salaries so the purchase of appropriate clothing could be quite the burden for them.

I think that Ms. Deacon seems superbly suited to this position. She stays in the background but knows when to appropriately step forward to assist. I'm sure Kate truly appreciates her.

I just checked on YouTube and the video from Charles and Diana's arrival for their tour of Australia with William. What was different this time around is that Kate carried William off the plane when back then, William was carried off the plane by his nanny.

George really does seem like he's very much a happy-go-lucky outgoing kid and he's ready, willing and able to take on the world. It will be very amusing to watch his reaction to various things during the tour as his natural curiosity about everything around him is setting in.

Kate carrying William off the plane :) Now that would be a feat in those heels.

How ridiculous this to-do about the wind lifting a bit Ka´te´s skirt. I agree with you some people would prefer she dropped George and covered her legs.

I preferred Kate carrying George herself. Leaving it to the nanny and then taking the baby from the nanny on the ground just smacks a tiny bit of 'let the staff do the heavy lifting while I get all the glory'.

Seems 'Grumpy Prince George' is going to give the 'Grumpy Cat' a bit of a run for his money!

Really? Nowhere do I see people here preferring Kate to drop the baby to cover her legs. That's taking other people's valid criticism way out to left field and exaggerating to negate their point. Perhaps William should have held George if she had to control her flying skirt while descending those steep stairs in those tall heels and intermittently releasing the rail; that would have been the easiest and safest solution for Dad to carry his squirming baby while Kate got a grip on her wardrobe.

And if William had to keep his hands free for "meet and greet" handshakes, he could have returned George to his mother at the foot of the stairs. I'm sure the dignitaries would have been more than pleased to wait for a minute or two.

I think it's rather clever to have the rest day now. I see they had the Irish State Visit in mind. They don't wan't to compete for headlines.

Apparently George was on play date with the GG's granddaughter during the welcome.
Wait, George is dating someone? I expect we'll be seeing the PGeorge and the PM's GD to be engaged articles before the tour is over.

I know what's going to be the headlines when I wake up wednesday morning Irish State Banquet vs George and Catherine's first engagement down under?

The baby group is in the afternoon on Apr 9. If it at 2 PM, it would be 3AM in London. It won't make the print edition of the UK papers but it would with the morning shows and online versions since it can be updated quicker than the print.
