Who is watching the live feed news cameras outside the Lindo Wing? Am I the only one cracking up about the millions of people that "need" to walk by there right now? And the street cleaner too? REALLY? Hahahaha!

I hear the sound of portable barriers, so that may not be an option for long...

I was lucky enough to be online when the news first broke, but I have to go to sleep now...Its 1am west coast USA. The queen must be thrilled to wake up to this news this morning. A new baby!!!

@RoyalReporter: I think it's been assumed that because Kate was in labour when she arrived, it must be a natural birth. Palace insists it's not getting that

Three days? It's painful just thinking about that!

I'm sure she has all the specialist help on hand she could need for as smooth a delivery as possible.

I bet she's hoping it doesn't go on for three days though.

I am by no means an expert on astrology but one thing I do know is that people that are born during the cusp period between two zodiac signs tend to have positive and negative attributes from both signs. In Baby C's case it would be Cancer and Leo.

I would imagine that Kate stayed home with William as long as possible before heading to the hospital... making sure the contractions were 5 minutes apart or whatever her doctor advised her. I wonder if Kate will have any amusing stories to tell? Like the husband that drives off without the mother or in my case, the man that paraded through the hospital alone carrying my purse as he had to go down to admitting for me.

Luckily once I did go in the hospital, I mostly sat in the father's waiting room (where smoking was allowed at the time) and watched TV. Once the really hard labor began, it took about 1 1/2 hours to deliver.

#Duchess of Cambridge arrived at hospital at 5.45am. Believed to have used Cambridge wing entrance used by Princess Diana. #Royalbaby

Well, we'll be hearing those gun salutes soon after HRH gives birth.

Not that it really matters but it's possible for a midwife or doctor to kickstart the process at home or in a clinic. Diana was induced.

What's silly about it? A natural birth means painkillers like an epidural are not used. We don't know if it's a natural birth or not.

The 22nd is my name day and my boyfriend's birthday!

So if painkillers and an epidural are used it's an unnatural birth? That's my point, semantics really.

Is the Queen now already on Holidays? Or is the Royal Baby arriving in time BEFORE the Queen is leaving?
Bye Bine

Palace says it's not getting into that, I meant to say, re induction.

I think The Queen starts her holiday on Friday.

She doesn't leave until Friday.

It's not called an unnatural birth. That is just not a term that is used.

The term natural childbirth is more than semantics. There is nothing wrong with having a term that means a vaginal birth without the use of medication to induce, relieve pain, etc. Some women take great care in writing out birth plans to be followed when they are in labor and these distinctions can be very important to them.

So Catherine is more then a week overdue as the palace has confirmed. I think It was Monday of last week that Camilla said that she hoped the baby would be born by the end of the week (the 19th).

Everyone I know who has a non c-section delivery calls it natural birth though they still use painkillers etc during the birth. To me, a natural birth is a natural way of having a baby, with or without painkillers. I wonder what else you would call it. Unnatural? Seems weird to me.

Painkillers, epidural isn't given at the very early stages of labour.

How long will Kates stay in hospital be? One to two days if she has a natural delivery?

Now I don't want to go to bed, But it's 4:30 AM here. Heh...guess I know what I'll be doing first thing when I wake up!

I agree, that was my point. I don't think of pain management as meaning an unnatural birth. But it might just be the semantics of the medical industry, I'm not sure.

I don't recall such media frenzy over any royal event like what is going on with Kate's delivery. It is amazing.

The police presence has ramped up on the Telegraphs coverage... *heres hoping they are preparing to take the notice to the palace!*

To me, natural simply means no C-section.

Oh HEY to Lynn in Chandler... I used to live in Gilbert in the "Islands"

Can't believe that Baby Cambridge is finally coming, i'm so excited!!

Internet live shot is buffering more and more - it will be useless soon. Looks like I'll have to go to a TV at the neighbors (where I'm cat sitting) if I want to see anything live from here on out.

Monday's child

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child that's born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny, blithe, good and gay.

I really hope it only takes a few hours for her. Not only it will be more comfortable for both mother and child but also because I'm getting too impatient to wait for 10+ hours or even 30+hours!

Hey there :) And now you live in Canada, Eh? lol  I live just a few miles from the islands...

I am soooo ready to hear the big news. :baby:

Well to me I think this was plann...it is monday, eraly int he morning...so to me this birth was plann to be today, with a c-section or a induce birth...natural but induce!

Can be fast, can be Long, there are no rules, even if it is the first birth.... so let´s wait and see, but for sure it will be today :flowers:
Bye Bine

It is quite the media frenzy. Someone on twitter just pointed out that St. Mary's Lindo Wing website has crashed due to traffic. I also noticed that Kate Middleton, royal baby watch and Kensington Palace are all trending on twitter.

How long will Kates stay in hospital be? One to two days if she has a natural delivery?

I think that sounds about right. If there are no problems, she should be in the hospital no more than 2 days.

It can. It took two hours and half for my mother to deliver her first child after the labour's beginning.

Well we know that it won't be that for Catherine, because it's been four hours since she was admitted!!
