Royal Baby: world's media may be waiting at wrong hospital-
Royal Baby: world's media may be waiting at wrong hospital - Telegraph

I think they could be in London by now. I think she was at her parents while William was on SAR duty. He's off now for a while. Since they have officially mentioned that St Mary's will be the place of birth, I think they will be going to St Mary's.

As for the photographers waiting at that doorway - I was under the impression that was more to do with where she and William will leave the hospital with their bundle of joy and thus from where the world will get the first glimpse of the future monarch.

I can"t be sure but I hear the level of police presence in Bucklebury suggests William and Kate have been there for at least part of today

Alessandra Isabella ‏@alessisabella 51m

If they are at the wrong hospital I will laugh hysterically.

Well, if they gave birth at the last minute at another hospital, everyone would have to accept that but I think they will make sure St Mary's will be the place of birth.

It would be a little funny but the press wouldn't be laughing much. Especially since many of them are in nearby hotels and already stationed. I know I wouldn't be a happy camper, if I was a member of the press or photographer.

Well if the baby holds out until the 30th, making Zara godmother would be a good 2nd anniversary gift.

They are in Buckleberry with the Midds. The hospital is in Reading, I believe.

I the heatwave they're having, they're hanging in the air conditioning at Manor Middleton and lounging by the pool. That's where I'd be. And that sweltering press would be pretty miffed if they purposely duped them on hospitals - it's one thing if she goes there in case of an emergency, but if she labors for hours and hours there as most first time mothers do, that's a little different.

Wow, it looks like it's supposed to hit 89 there tomorrow, just like we had today!

Monday the 22nd is the full moon, another bringer of babies.

If they did that to the press, the press would turn on the Royal Family than you could blink. I doubt they are able or would want to handle that kind of hostility.

If they did that to the press intentionally, yes. But given as they're not in London it's very easy to imagine that she could go into labour and not be able to get to St. Mary's.

I'm just thinking that she spent some time with her parents while William was on duty (in case something happened while he was away). Perhaps they are just enjoying some time there but I think since they have let the media know beforehand that the baby is due to be born as St Mary's, they will be back in London soon.

Mandela day is one of those days that comes premarked on calendars. For July my kitchen wall calendar (bought in Toronto) has Canada Day, US Independence Day, Bastille Day, Nelson Mandela Day and the beginning of Ramadan.

I agree If they did intentionally then yes I could see that, but if she is far away from London in Bucklebury (1 hr 15 minutes) and contractions are very close and the Baby Does not want to wait and is moving fast then I could see the, going to a closer hospital and the media would understand. Thing can mover VERY Fast or it could move slow depending in how anxious the Baby is.

My Aunt nearly had her Second Child in the Hospital Parking Lot! It was not waiting, Her second child was born within literally after 5 or so minutes getting to the hospital because they (contractions) were that close and the Baby was dropping! Her doctors (or in staff doctors as the regular doctors was not there it was like 6 in the morning) met her in the parking lot and rushed right into the delivery room. Her first child she got to the hospital fine and delivers a few hours after arriving. From my aunt and uncle house to the hospital is about a 15 minute drive.

Hopefully Will and Catherine baby will be able to wait if they are in bucklebury and will not have to give birth on the highway!

I can almost guarantee that there no air conditioning at Buckleberry, although there is a pool.

British homes dont do air conditioning.

Do they sell AC in the UK? Or have then in any buildings? How do they keep cool on hot days when they have them?

Modern office buildings have it built in; older office buildings get units added.

Domestic homes do not have air conditioning as standard as, for example, many homes do in Texas.

When it gets hot ( and we haven't had much of a summer for the past few years) people use electric fans and some might purchase mobile units.

The current weather which is an extended hot spell, is not a common occurance so air con is not economical.

In older houses which may be listed (for example Earl Spencer's home) one would need permission and both air conditioning and central heating can do damage to antique furniture, structure and art works.
