He was previously married (from 1976 to 1990) to Baroness Elisabeth Akerhielm of Margarethelund (b.1946, mother of his two children: Benigna, b.1980 and Heinrich XXIV, b.1984) and Countess Antoinette von Arnim (from 1991, also ended in divorce, no children)
His third wedding will take place exactly three months after that of his daughter to Oscar Ascoz y Planes.

the engagements between Archduke Imre and Kathleen Walker and between Archduke Christoph and Adélaïde Drapé-Frisch were announced in Bruxelles on 22 December 2011.
Archduke Imre and Archduke Christoph are sons of Archduke Carl Christian of Austria and his wife Archduchess Marie Astrid, née Princess of Luxembourg.
