The engagement was announced between Countess Sophie of Trauttmannsdorff-Weinsberg (b.7 April 1973) [younger of two daughters of Count Peter of Trauttmannsdorff-Weinsberg (b.1938) & his wife Jutta, nee Khaelss von Kaelsberg (b.1939] and Count Alexandre de Lalaing on 23 July. They are going to marry on 5 October.

Sophie's only sister, Blanka (b.1967) married Jose Ferrer Feliu (b.1965) in 1994.
