He was a son of Queen Paola's maternal second cousin Princess Donna Giovanna Pignatelli Aragona Cortés (1933-2000) & her first husband Georges Roulet, who became Georges Roulet Doria d’Angri (1923-1992); they divorced when Oliver was nine (born in 1957) and his brother Fabrice - ten (born in 1956).
When Oliver was 17 and Fabrice 18 their mother married again (in 1974) Gerard Bruneau, 13 years her junior (b.1946); four years later (in 1978), at 45 (and her sons were 22 and 21 respectively) she gave birth to her last child, Thierry Bruneau Pignatelli Aragona Cortes.
Donna Giovanna and Geard Bruneau separated in 1996 but apparently never officially divorced.
Previous year (in 1995) Oliver married Benedetta Frasca (b.1968) by whom he had his only child, Marcantonio (b.1998).
Apart from his wife and son, her left his brother Fabrizio, sister-in-law Patrizia della Nesta, nephew Niccolo (b.1992) and niece Giulia (b.1998).
His much younger half-brother Thierry died untimely in 2012 aged 34 (he was unmarried and childless)
