Countess Huberta von Galen, née Baroness von Schorlemer, passed away on 27 February 2016 at Münster-Handorf, at the age of 100.

She was born in Grundhof (Luxembourg) on 15 May 1915 an was married there in 1942 to Count Wilderich von Galen (1913-1967).
They were parents of six children (Franz, Octavie, Gabrielle, Huberta, Luitwin, Michael), of whom the eldest and the youngest predeceased their mother.
She is survived by four children, her children-in-law, 36 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Countess Marie-Blanche of Oultremont, nee Countess du Chastel de la Howarderie died in Opheylissem on 29 February.

She was born in Paris on 24 August 1921. She married Civilly in Ixelle on 26 May and religiously in Brussels on 14 June Count Adrien of Oultremont (1918-2005) [second of eight children and oldest son of Count Albert of Oultremont(1887-1946) & his wife Marguerite van de Werve d'Immerseel (1891-1992)] by whom she had two daughters: Sophie (b.1949, later wife of Count Christian of Ursel, b.1937, died a year ago) & Clotilde (b.1952, later wife of Prince Charles Louis de Merode, b.1948) eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Count Nikolaus de la Fontaine und d'Harnoncourt-Unverzagt died this year.

He was born in 1929 as oldest child of Countess Ladislaja Maria Johanna Franziska von Meran (1899-1997) & her husband Count Eberhard de la Fontaine und d'Harnoncourt-Unverzagt (1896-1970.
He married 1953 Alice Hoffelner (b.1930) by whom he had four children: Elisabeth (b.1954), Philipp (b.1955), Eberhardt (1957-1990) & Franz (b.1961) as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The Dowager Countess of Portland, Countess von Bentinck und Waldeck-Limpurg, née Jenifer Hopkins, died on 23 March 2016 at Wexham Park Hospital. She was 79.

She was born in London on 13 May 1936 and married on 23 February 1974 to Henry Bentinck, Count von Bentinck und Waldeck-Limpurg, who in 1990 succeeded to a distant cousin as 11th Earl of Portland. They didn't have children together.
The Earl was previously married to Pauline Mellowes, with whom he had two daughters and one son (the current Earl).

Count Patrice de Mac Mahon died on 5 April 2016, aged 72.

He was born on 11 September 1943, the fourth child of Maurice de Mac Mahon, 3rd Duke de Magenta, and of his wife, née Countess Marguerite de Caraman-Chimay.
He was married since 1966 to Beatrix de Blanquet du Chayla, by whom he had four daughters.
He is survived by his wife, their daughters with their families, as well as by his younger sister Véronique.
His older siblings have all predeceased him; the only son of his older brother, Maurice, is the current and fifth Duke of Magenta.

What caused Chiara Kunigl to die at such a young age.

I am not sure,but I think that it was suicide due to depression caused by some sort of mobbing,bullying...

Count Maurice de Cossé-Brissac died on 24 March 2016. He was 84.

He was born on 26 May 1931 in Paris, the second child of Count Charles de Cossé-Brissac and of his wife, née Herminie de Rohan-Chabot.
He married in 1958 to Béatrice Millin de Grandmaison (1934-1968), by whom he had one daughter, Hélène.
He is survived by her, her husband Friedrich Byloff, and by his three grandchildren with their families.

His daughter Hélène has been married from 1981 until they divorced in 1991 to H.S.H. Prince Vincenz von und zu Liechtenstein, the eldest child of Prince Heinrich and his wife, née Archduchess Elisabeth of Austria. They were parents of two daughters, Adelheid (Countess Dominik von Coundenhove-Kalergi) and Hedwige (Countess Olivier de Quélen).
She later remarried to Friedrich Byloff, by whom she had one son, Artus.
 
Chevalier Jack de Spirlet passed away at Woluwe-Saint-Lambert on 16 April 2016, aged 86.

He was born on 3 April 1930 and married on 9 October 1954 to Countess Anna Regina zu Stolberg-Stolberg (1927-2002), daughter of Count Bernhard and of his wife, Archduchess Hedwig of Austria. They became parents of three daughters and two sons; one daughter predeceased them in 1970, aged 10.
He is survived by his children Beatrice, Isabelle, Guy and Nicolas and their families.

Count Georg von Enzenberg zum Freyen und Jöchelsthurn passed away on 16 May 2016 at Misurina (Italy), aged 89.

He was born on 28 July 1926, the eldest child and only son of Count Georg Sieghard von Enzenberg zum Freyen und Jöchelsthurn and of his wife, née Donna Maria Francesca Lucchesi Palli (of the Princes of Campofranco).
He has been married from 1956 until her death to Princess Elisabeth Esterházy von Galántha (1931-2009). They didn't have children, but he adopted his nephew Count Michael von Goëß.

Prince Karol Stanisław Michał Radziwiłł died in London on 16 May.

He was born in Cracow on 18 November 1931 as a firstborn son of Prince Michał Karol Maria Józef Radziwiłł (1907-1974) & his first wife Aldona Chłapowska (1907-1963).

He was single and childless; his only brother Antoni died in 1999 aged 63
He left two nephews and four great-nephews.

Prince Don Giovanni Del Drago, Prince of Antuni and of Mazzano, died during the night between 28 and 29 May 2016 in Roma, after a long illness, aged 82.

He was born in Bolsena on 8 September 1933, the eldest child and only son of Don Rodolfo Del Drago and of his wife, née Anne Marie Wallace. He succeeded to his uncle Urbano as Prince Del Drago, Prince of Antuni and of Mazzano, when the latter died in 1959.
He was unmarried and without issue. He is survived by his sister, Donna Maria Angelica.
He was also the adoptive son of Donna Ornella Ravaschieri Fieschi, of the Dukes of Roccapiemonte (1904-2004); she was his father's cousin and the last descendant of the Ravaschieri Fieschi family; after the adoption he changed his surname, which became Ravaschieri Fieschi Del Drago. Donna Ornella had been the first wife of Prince Karl von Schönburg-Waldenburg, himself the only son of Prince Friedrich von Schönburg-Waldenburg and his first wife Princess Alicia de Borbon.

Count Jost of Solms-Rödelheim and Assenheim died in Murnau on 30 May.

He was born in Munich on 3 January 1929 as oldest of three children of Count Joachim Ernst of Solms-Rödelheim and Assenheim (1896-1978) & his wife Countess Klara von Bullion (1901-1996).
He married in Wuppertal-Elberfeld civilly on 22 May and religiously on 25 May 1964 Karin Frowein (b.1936) [daughter of Countess Louise-Marie von Rhoden (1903-1989) & her husband Ernst Günther Frowein (1899-1971)]; their marriage was childless.
He left his sister Maritta (b.1940; their brother Gunther Wolfgang died on 1979 aged 47), many nephews, nieces and their families; one of them Nikolaus (son of Gunther Wolfgang) died prematurely in 1981 just three weeks before his 20th birthday.

He was born on 9 July 1940, one of the children of Jean Guerrand and of his wife Aline Hermès (one of the heirs to luxury fashion manufacturer Hermès).
He was the husband since 1976 of Rosalinda Alvares Pereira de Melo, Duchess of Cadaval-Guerrand-Hermès, eldest daughter of the late Don Jaime Alvares Pereira de Melo, 10th Duke of Cadaval, and the older half-sister of the current Duchess of Cadaval. He and his wife had one daughter together, Olympia.

Jonkheer Roland d'Udekem d'Acozdied in Uccle on 27 May, twenty-four days before his 83th birthday.

He was born in Ghent as a younger of two sons of Jonkheer Albert d'Udekem d'Acoz (1903-1984) & his wife, Baroness Eliane de Crombrugghe de Looringhe (1906-1998); he had an older brother Jacques (b.1930).
He married in 1962 Jonkvrouw Yolande de Thomaz de Bossierre (b.1942)by whomhe had four children: Cedric (b.1965), Sophie (b.1969), Stehanie (b.1972) & Rodolphe (b.1975) and seven grandchildren.
Apart from them he is also outlived by his brother, sister-in-law, nieces Nathalie (b.1961) & Viviane (b.1962), nephew Amaury (b.1965), four great-nephews and two great-nieces.

Count Felix Georg von Vetter died sometime this year, age 87 or 88.

He was born in 1928 as the eldest child of Count Rudolf von Vetter and Dorothea Wenzl, Baroness von Sternbach. He married Baroness Elisabeth von Furstenberg (1938-2000) in 1964. They had four children, Georg (*1965), Michael (*1966), Stefanie (*1976), and Bernhard (*1982). He is survived by his children as well as nine grandchildren.

Jonkwrouv Dawn van der Wyck died this year.

She was born on 6 January 1940 as a daughter of Jonkvrouw Brydgytte Bentinck (1916-2010) & her husband, Jonkheer Adriaan van der Wyck (1906-1973). In 1968 she married Paul Vermeer (1935-2011) They had three children: Robert (b.1968), Fiona (b.1970) & Nadia (b.1971). They divorced in 1990.
Apart her children, she is survived also by her four grandchildren.

Count Péter Esterházy de Galántha died on 14 July 2016, aged 66.

He was born in Budapest on 14 april 1950, the eldest child of Count Mátyás Esterházy de Galántha and of his wife, née Magdolna Irén Mányoki.
He was married since 1973 to Margit Reén, with whom he had four children (Dorotty, Marce, Zsofia and Miklós).
He is survived by them, as well as by his siblings and their families.
He was a renown author.

Marisa Coop, who became Marisa Coop-Diatto through adoption, died this year.

She became a wife of Emanuele Nasi (1928-1970) [the youngest of five children of Caterina (Aniceta) Agnelli (1889-1928) {herself daughter of Giovanni Agnelli (1866-1945), Italian entrepreneur, who founded Fiat car manufacturing in 1899 & his wife Clara, nee Boselli (1869-1946)} & her husband Carlo Nasi (1877-1935)] by who she had four children: a son Carlo (b.1951) and three daughters: Clara (b.1951, twin sister of Carlo), Valentina (b.1958) & Violetta (b.1961).

She also had four grandchildren: Emanuele dei conti Pasquini (b.1977) [only son of Clara & her husband Enrico, Count Pasquini (b.1948)], Priscilla Nasi (b.1983) [daughter of Carlo & his second wife, Petula Louise Brard (b.1955)], her half-sister Giulia Nasi (b.1991) [daughter of Carlo & his current wife Ana, nee Rodriguez] and twins Gregorio and Clementina Marini-Clarelli dei marchesi di Vacone (b.1993) [children of Valentina & her husband Francesco Marini-Clarelli dei marchesi di Vacone (b.1956)]

The Hon Gerard Eyre Wriothesley Noel, who died 27 July, 2016, aged 89, was a scion of the Earls of Gainsborough (Earl, UK cr 1841), & a former editor of the Catholic Herald.
He was born 20 Nov 1926, the second son of the 4th Earl of Gainsborough, OBE (1884-1927), by his wife the former Alice Mary Eyre (d 1970); married 1958, Adele Julia Patricia Were, by whom he had 2 sons and one daughter.

Noel was editor of the Catholic Herald 1971-76 & 1982-84.

The 6th Duke of Westminster, KG, OBE, has died suddenly from a heart attack, in Preston, aged 64.

Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor was born on22 Dec 1951 in Omagh (northern Ireland) as second of three children and only son of Robert Cavendish Grosvenor, the 5th Duke of Westminster (1910-1979) & his wife Honourable Viola Maud Lyttelton (1912-1987) and succeeded his father in the dukedom, 19 Feb, 1979.

The 6th duke was also Marquess of Westminster, Earl Grosvenor, Viscount Belgrave and Baron Grosvenor, and a baronet.

He married on 7 Oct 1978in Luton Natalia Ayesha Phillips (b.1959), a descendant of the Royal House of Romanov, youngest of five children of Lieutenant-Colonel Harold Pedro Joseph Phillips (1909-1980) & his wife Georgina Wernher (1919-2011) scion of the now extinct Wernher baronets. Georgina's grandfather was HIH Grand Duke Michael of Russia.
The Duke of Westminster is survived by his wife, four children: Lady Tamara (b.1979) [wife of Edward van Cutsem (b.1973)], Lady Edwina (b.1981) [wife of Daniel Robert Snow (b.1979)], Hugh Grosvenor, styled Earl Grosvenor (b.1991) and Lady Viola Grosvenor (b.1992); four grandchildren - Jake (b.2009) & Louis (b.2012) VanCutsem and Zia (b.2011) & Wolf (b.2014) Snow, as well as two sisters: Leonora Mary (b.1949) [former wife of Thomas Patrick John Anson, 5th Earl of Lichfield (1939–2005)] & Jane Meriel (b.1953) [former wife of Guy David Innes-Ker, 10th Duke of Roxburghe (b.1954)] and their families.

Count Carl Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau died on 4 August.

He was born in Munich on 20 October 1954 as the youngest of seven children of Count Ferdinand von Wchinitz und Tettau (1907-1969) & his wife, Countess Hedwig von Ledebur-Wicheln (1910-2002)
On 23 May 1991 he became a father of Paul Stephan Marie, whose mother was Freiin Elisabeth Zobel von Giebelstadt zu Darstadt (b.1959); young parents formalized their union in Darstadt on 7 September.
Of his many siblings only Johannes predeceased him in 2004, aged 67.
Still alive are: Ferdinand (b.1934), Eleonore (b.1936), Marie (b.1940), Aglae (b.1941) & Elisabeth (b.1944).

Prince Marco of Hohenlohe-Langenburg y Medina, 19th Duke of Medinaceli died in Sevilla on 19 August.

He was born in Madrid on 8 March 1962 as a firstborn son of Prince Max Emanuel of Hohenlohe-Langenburg e Iturbe (1931-1994) & his first wife Ana de Medina y Fernández de Córdoba, 13th Marchioness of Navahermosa, 9th Countess of Ofalia (1940-2012) [herself daughter of 18th Duchess of Medinaceli Victoria Eugenia Fernández de Córdoba y Fernández de Henestrosa (1917-1913); Marco inherited the title after her.
He had a brother Pablo (b.1963) and a sister Flavia (b.1964). Their parents divorced in 1985 and four years later their father married Magdalena Foncuberta y Alonso-Martínez (b.1939).
He married in Ronda on 1 June Sandra Schmidt-Polex (b.1968) [daughter of Hans Carl Schmidt-Polex & his wife Karin, nee Goepfer] by whom he had two children: Victoria Elisabeth (b.17 March 1997, who inherits the title of the Duchess of Medinaceli) & Alejandro Gonzalo, 14th Marquess of Navahermosa (b.9 March 1999).

She was born in Paris on 24 June 1925. She married in Gerbeviller on 26 March 1949 Prince Albert-Eduard Philippe Marie Lamoral de Ligne (1912-1963) [son of Prince Albert Eduard Eugene Lamoral de Ligne (1874-1957) & his wife Marie Louise Calley Saint-Paul de Sincay (1885-1968)] by whom she had an only daughter, Marie Vanda Rita Line (b.1950) married since 1979 to Alfonso Gonzalo Perez de Guzman y Bustos (b.1951).

Don Carlo (of the Princes) Giovanelli died in Rome on 25 September 2016, aged 74.

He was the second and youngest son of Prince Giuseppe Giovanelli and of his wife, née Countess Franca Giulia Fogaccia. He was born on 14 January 1942 in Rome.
He married in 1966 to Donna Maria Elettra (of the Marquesses) Marconi (born on 30 July 1930), the daughter of Guglielmo Marconi (1st Marquess Marconi and the inventor of wireless telegraphy) by his second wife, née Donna Maria Cristina (of the Marquesses) Bezzi Scali. They became parents of one son, Guglielmo Giuseppe Giovanelli Marconi (he at a point took both the surnames of his parents).
He is survived by his (former?) wife Elettra, their son Guglielmo with his wife Vittoria (née Rubini), his wife Prince Alberto Giovanelli with his wife Letizia (née Caproni, of the Counts of Taliedo) and their daughters.
