Cecilia McEwen, nee Countess von Weikersheim died this year.

She was born in 1937 as the only child of Franz, Prince von Weikersheim (1904-1983) & his wife, Princess Irma of Windisch-Graetz (1913-1984).
She married in 1960 Alexander Dundas McEwen (b.1935) by whom she had a daughter Sophie (b.1961) and two sons Alexander (b.1962) & Hugo (b.1965) as well as four grandsons and one granddaughter.

Karin Schwarze, nee Baroness von Wangenheim died this year.

She was born in 1937 as older child of Princess Luise of Saxe-Meiningen (1899-1985) & her husband Baron Götz von Wangenheim (1895-1941); in the year of her father's death her only brother, Baron Ernst Friedrich von Wangenheim was born. Their mother never remarried.
She married in 1963 Hans-Dieter Schwarze (1926-1994); two years later they had their only son Trishan Daniel, who unfortunately died in 2007.
She is survived by her only brother, sister-in-law Christa Margarete, nee Binninger (b.1931) and only niece, Baroness Verena Regina von Wangenheim (b.1966); a nephew, Peter died in 1970 as a baby.

Prince Johannes of Auersperg died on 24 April.

He was born in Weitwörth on 29 January 1934 as the youngest of seven children of Prince Franz of Auersperg (1887-1953) & his wife Hedwig, nee Princess of Lobkowicz (1894-1966).
He was married thrice: married firstly in Eisenkappel on 16 July 1959 (div 1971) Countess Irene of Starhemberg (b.1940) [youngest of five children of Count Georgof Starhemberg (1904-1978) & his wife Anna Agnes, nee Princess of Isenburg (1904-1970)]by whom he had four children: Vincenz (b.1960), Marie Gabriela (b.1962), Ferdinand Eduard (b.1964) & Wilhelm Maximilian (b.1968); they divorced in 1971.He married secondly in Salzburg on 23 May 1972 Urdar von Bonin (b.1934); this marriage was childless and ended in divorce in 1976.
He married thirdly in Vienna on 17 February 1976 Adelheid Wellert (b.1941); next year their only daughter together, Agnes Berta, was born.He is survived by his children and numerous grandchildren.

Prince Gerhard von Hohenberg died on 8 May.

He was born in Vienna on 23 December 1941 as the youngest of six children of Maximilian, Duke von Hohenberg (1902-1962) {himself son of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Este (1863-1914)& his morganatic wife Countess Sophie Chotek von Chotkowa und Wognin, created Princess von Hohenberg in 1900, created Duchess von Hohenberg in 1909 (1868-1914); both assassinated in Sarajevo} & his wife Countess Elisabeth of Waldburg of Wolfegg and Waldsee (1904-1993).

He was unmarried and childless. He is survived by two of his brothers: Georg (b.1929) & Albrecht (b.1931) as well as numerous nephews and nieces and their families.

Greville Adrian Cavendish, who died 2 May, 2019, aged 93, was a scion of the Barons Chesham, and descended from the Dukes of Devonshire. He was born on 22 December 1925 as a son of Captain Evan George Charles Cavendish [1891-1955] by his wife the former Esme Frances Sylvia Smyth [1901-59], descended from the Barons Boston; he married firstly, on 9 August, 1952 [they divorced in 1974], Hazel Colleen Elizabeth May [she died 21 March 2016]; married secondly, in 1974, Gillian Webb [who died 10 February 2018]. He leaves three children from his first marriage, two sons, Rupert (b.1955) and Piers (b.1956), and a daughter, Kiloran (b.1959).

Countess Saroja Douglas died this year.

She was born in 1946 as eldest of three children and only daughter of Count Archibald Douglas (1910-1992) & his wife Baroness Margareta Lagerfelt (1924-2010).
She was reportedly unmarried and childless.
She is survived by her two brothers Archibald [b.1949, married to Archduchess Walburga of Austria (b.1958)] & Richard [b.1953, married to Katharine Jean Sheffey (b.1956)], nephew Mauritz (b.1994, son of Archibald & Walburga) & two nieces Anna-Christina (b.1981, married to John Blackburn) & Madeleine (b.1987) [daughters of Richard & his first wife Amrita Ghosh (b.1951)].

Horrible tragedy has happened; David Scott Snyder was killed in a car crash near Cooksville, Michigan (USA) on 18 May; his wife was seriously injuried.

He was born on 18 November 1956 in Pontiac, Michigan and on 23 June 1979 in Farmington Hills, Michigan married Archduchess Ileana of Austria (b.1958) [second of five children and older daughter of Archduke Stefan of Austria (1932-1998) & his wife Jerrine, nee Soper (1931-2015)] by whom he had three children: Alexandra Marie (b.1984), Nicholas David (b.1986) & Constanza Ileana (b.1994) and three grandsons.

He died in a car accident and was killed instantly with the Archduchess being seriously injured. What a horrible, horrible thing to happen, especially when they were on their way to a birthday party.:sad:
 
Polly Marchioness of Lansdowne, who died 11 May in Amsterdam, was the former wife of the 8th Marquess of Lansdowne, of Bowood, Calne.

She was born as Honourable Selina Polly Dawson Eccles on 18 January, 1937, the eldest of three children and only daughter of David Eccles, later 1st Viscount Eccles (1904-99) & his first wife, Honourable Sybil Frances Dawson (1904-77) in 1984 her father married again a book collector and author, Mary Morley Crapo Hyde (1912-2003).

She always known as Polly. Her father was Minister of Works at the time of the Coronation, for which he was appointed KCVO. He was created a viscount in 1964, one of the last so created.

Polly's maternal grandfather was Bertrand Dawson, 1st Viscount Dawson of Penn (1865-1945), physician to King George V, who administered the fatal dose of morphine to the dying monarch in January, 1936.

She married firstly, on 1 June, 1962 (they divorced in 1969), Robin Andrew Duthac Carnegie (1937-2000), scion of the Earls of Southesk (now Dukes of Fife); married secondly, on 22 December 1969, as his second wife, John George Charles Fitzmaurice, the 8th Marquess of Lansdowne (1912-99), and became chatelaine of Bowood House, at Calne, Wiltshire; he was a widower of Barbara Chase (b.1918- died in Perth Royal Infirmary on 17 February 1965 after a shooting accident at Meikleour House; their oldest daughter Caroline Margaret, died aged 17 in the same hospital on 27 September 1956 in the same circumstances) and had then three living children: Charles Maurice (b.1941, 9th Marquess of Lansdowne), Robert Harold (b.1947) & Georgina Elizabeth (b.10 Jan 1950).
This marriage ended in divorce in 1978 and was childless.
After their divorced her former husband remarried twice; his third wife died after four years, the last one outlived him.
The Marchioness leaves a son, Andrew Carnegie (b.1963) from her first marriage.

Prince Hermann von Hessen Philippstahl-Barchfeld died at Augustenau Castle (Hesse, Germany) on 18 May.

He was born on 21 August 1935 in Herleshausen as second of three children and younger son of Prince Wilhelm of Hesse (1905-killed in action near Gor, Russia on 30 April 1942) & his wife Marianne, née Princess of Prussia (1913-1983).
He married on 9 May 1962 in Kassel, Countess Monika Strachwitz von Groß-Zauche und Camminetz; they had two children: a daughter Verena (b.1972) and a son Alexis (b.1977) as well as two grandchildren: Ludwig (b.2000) & Anastacia (b.2003) [children of Verena & her husband Felix von Saucken (b.1970).
He is also survived by his brother Wilhelm, Landgrave of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld (b.1933), his sister Princess Johanna, Mrs. Bruno Riek (b.1937) and their families.

Princess Marie-Helene Antoinette Teresa Maximiliane of Schwarzenberg died prematurely on 18 May.

She was born in 1987 as a daughter of Prince Friedrich of Schwarzenberg (1940-2014) [himself son of Karl, Prince of Schwarzenberg (1911-1986) & his wife Antonia, nee Princess of Furstenberg (1905-1988)] & his wife Regula Brigitta, nee Schlegel (b.1956); she had a younger brother Ferdinand Karl Friedrich Johann Nepomuk Jakob Alexius (b.1989).
She was unmarried and childless.

Henriette von Bohlen und Halbach, née Princess von Auersperg died on 30 May.

She was born in St.Johann im Pongau on 2 September 1933 as the eldest of three children and only daughter of Prince Alois of Auersperg (1897-1984) & his wife Henriette, nee Countess Larisch von Moennich (1903-1994); giving that her parents married on 25 February 1933, her mother was reportedly already pregnant with her.She had two brothers: Alfred (1936-1992) & Luitpold (1937-1985).
She married civilly in Werfen bei Salzburg on 1 February 1969 and religiously in Blühnbach bei Salzburg on 14 February 1969 Arndt von Bohlen und Halbach (1938-1986); the marriage remained childless.

I'm surprised that N&R mentioned the passing of Mr von Bülow since he changed into his maternal grandfather's surname after his father had been accused of collaboration with the Germans during World War II meaning that he was neither a noble nor a member of the Bülow family.
 
Prince Wolfgang of Hohenlohe-Oehringen died in Florence on 27 May.

He was born in Berlin on 22 February 1925 as the only child of Prince Waldemar of Hohenlohe-Oehringen (1890-1965) & his wife Nina Chischina (1898-1965).
When he was 11 years old, his parents divorced; his mother remarried in 1948 paternal first cousin of her former husband, Prince Kraft of Hohenlohe-Oehringen (1892-1965); car crash took both their lives; Nina died on the spot on 27 August, her husband died from wounds in hospital six days later.
Wolfgang married in Teheran on 15 May 1959 Jacqueline Sophia Tonge (b. 4 May 1933) [daughter of Lieutenant-Commander Cecil Graham Tonge & his wife Waynoni Rayward]by whom he had a daughter Margarita (b.1961) since 1992 married to Stuart Bentham (b.1948)and a son Heinrich (b.1968) since 2002 married to Kristin Charlotte Schmidt (b.1971) and four grandchildren: by Margarita two granddaughters Alexandra (b.1994) & Larissa (b.2002) and by Heinrich two grandsons Theodor (b.2002) & Nikolaus (b.2005).

On June 3rd 2019 has passed away at the age of 100: Woizlawa-Feodora Elise Marie Elisabeth Prinzessin Reuß, Herzogin zu Mecklenburg (1918-2019).

Woizlawa was the last still living participant at the Royal Wedding of Princess Juliana of the Netherlands and Bernhard Prinz zur Lippe-Biesterfeld in 1937. The Princess was a full cousin to Queen Juliana of the Netherlands:

Countess Béatrice de Looz-Corswarem died on 2 June.

She was born in Uccle on 30 October 1931 as the youngest of three children and only daughter of Count Robert de Looz-Corswarem (1883-1950) & his wife Rosa Hubertine, nee du Bois d’Enghien (1897-1981).

Princess Elisabeth Poniatowski died on February 4.

She was born in 1923 to Prince Casimir Poniatowski and Countess Anne de Riquet de Caraman-Chimay. She had one older brother and two younger sisters. In 1946, she married Theodor Kiendl (1922-2012). She is survived by her four children Theodore, Gregory, Paul, and Elizabeth and their families.

He was born in 1967 as second child of Edoardo [dei marchesi] Ferrero de Gubernatis Ventimiglia (1936-2012) & his first wife Giovanna Turi; he had an older sister Ilaria [b.1965; now Mrs. André Vercueil, mother of Jasmine Clélia (b.2002) & André Philippe (b.2003)].
He married in 1994 Giovanna Morganti by whom he had three children: Edoardo (b.1997), Viola (b.1999) & Giovanni (b.2002).
He also had two half-brothers Ferrante (b.1975) & Matteo (b.1978) by his father's second marriage to Elisabeth Brandt.

He was born on 6 March 1942 in Bartenstein as third child and only son of Karl, Prince of Hohenlohe-Bartenstein & his wife Clara, née Baroness von Meyern-Hohenberg. He married in Oettingen civilly on 8 January and religiously on 19 January 1971 Princess Franziska of Oettingen-Oettingen and Oettingen-Spielberg (1947-2011) [oldest of five children of Alois, Prince ofOettingen-Oettingen u.Oettingen-Spielberg (1920-1975) & his wife Elisabeth, nee Countess of Lynar (1922-2005)] by whom he had five children Maximilian (b.1972, current Prince of Hohenlohe-Bartenstein), Felix (b.1973), Alice (b.1978), Margherita (b.1979) and Georgina (b.1982).
Apart from his children he left eight grandchildren.

Princess Stephanie of Windisch-Graetz, formerly Mrs. Dermot Blundell-Hollinshead-Blundell, died sometime this year.

She was born in Brussels on 17 January 1939 as first of two children of Prince Franz Joseph of Windisch-Graetz (1904-1981) & his wife Countess Ghislaine d'Arschot Schoonhoven (1912-1997); she had one brother Guillaume (b.1950).
She married in Londonon 16 February 1967 Dermot Blundell-Hollinshead-Blundell (1935-2009); but they dovorced already in 1973.
They had two sons Henry (b.1967) & Alexander (b.1969) who became Alexander Windisch-Graetz in 2011.
Apart form her brother and two sons she left five grandchildren: Eléonore (b.2002) & Bryan (b.2005) [children of Henry & his wife Lisa, nee Abadjian (b.1966)] as well as Elisabeth-Marie (b.2005), Otto (b.2007) & Hermine (b.2011) [children of Alexander & his wife Ann Charlotte, nee Le Sellier de Chezelles (b.1970)]

Baron Eric de Bertouch-Lehn died this year.

He was born in 1956 as a son of Baron Poul Christian de Bertouch-Lehn & his wife Eva Jeanne Pade: he had two brothers Nicolas and Paul.
In 1986 married Countess Camilla Holstein (1959-2010) [fifth of seven daughters of Princess Marie Gabrielle of Luxemburg (b.1925) & her husband Knud, Count Holstein (1919-2001)]; the same year their first son, Nicolas, was born and three years later - the second one Philip; they divorced in 1996.
Apparently he didn't remarry.
He left two sons, a granddaughter Isabelle (b.2016) and a grandson (b.2018, name unknown) [children of Nicolas & his wife Eva Maria, nee Marcher (b.1988)]

Sister Isabelle, Countess de Lannoy, paternal aunt of Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg, died in Brussels on 15 July.

She was born in Etterbeek on 16 May 1930, as sixth of seven children and youngest daughter of Count Paul de Lannoy (1898-1980) & his wife Beatrice, nee Princess de Ligne (1898-1982).
She is the penultimate of the siblings who passes away; her only siling sibling is Count Claude (b.1932); the youngest one; apart from his she leaves numerous nephews and nieces with their families.
I don't know when she entered the convent and to which religious order she belonged.

It made the Dutch news because Ferdinand Fürst von Bismarck was a youth friend of Claus von Amsberg. He became a witness on his friend's wedding to Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands. Their eldest son is named to him: prins Willem-Alexander Claus Georg Ferdinand der Nederlanden, prins van Oranje-Nassau, jonkheer van Amsberg. And last but not least he was one of Willem-Alexander's godparents.

Sad news, few of that generation still remain.

Her late husband was a first cousin of Franz Joseph II, Hans Adam's father.

It was a second marriage for both. Ilona and Constantin both lost their first spouse during WWII. Constantin's wife and mother of his only child Princess Monica died in an air raid in Vienna in 1944 when their daughter was 2. Ilona's first husband died in active duty in Romania the same year, after only a year of marriage.

They had no kids together due to age. He was 66 and she 56 when wed.
