Kuwait FM granted prestigious Leone del Marzocco award
FLORENCE, Italy, Oct 6 (KUNA) -- The Italian city of Florence, Europe's capital of culture and arts, decorated on Thursday Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah with the coveted "Leone del Marzocco" award for his role in bolstering ties with Italy and preserving global stability.
"I am very grateful for this gesture. This much-appreciated award is a great honor to me and my country and I am proud of it," Sheikh Mohammad said in his speech in the award giving ceremony held here at the city's historic palace.

HH Crown Prince to sponsor shooting championship
KUWAIT, Oct 7 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is due to sponsor the annual Crown Prince Shooting Tournament, to be organized by Kuwait Shooting Club.
The Governor of Hawalli, Lieutenant General (retired) Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al-Fares, will represent HH the Crown Prince at the inauguration ceremony, due at night on Saturday, at the Olympic Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Range.

Doha, October 06 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani has sent a cable of condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah on the death of late Sheikh Mohamed Abdulaziz Al-Malik Al Sabah.

Congratulations to her,I´m sure she´s a smart,ambitous woman!
When I saw her picture I was quite surprised she´s blonde,I like black Arabic hair and I don´t understand why anyone wants to dye it?It remains a mystery,especially since blondes often have to fight stereotypes because they are often believed to be less intelligent than dark-haired women...Well,I hope she´s happy with it and doesn´t stop her good work:-)

I´m sure she is a nice person,I haven´t seen her before either but she seems to be quite active and communicative.She is looking great,I am just not used to seeing blonde Arab women,but never judge a book by it´s cover!

Women''s Affairs Cmte takes part in CEDAW meeting in Geneva Oct. 13-21
KUWAIT, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Cabinet's Women's Affairs Committee will take part in the fifth session of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) of the United Nations at the UN headquarters in Geneva from October 13-21.
The Committee quoted its Chairperson Sheikha Latifa Fahad Al-Salem Al-Sabah as saying that the participation is a response to an invitation extended by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss Kuwait's third and fourth reports of the (Convention on Elimination of all Discrimination against Women).

Kuwait presents plan to combat sea piracy
AL-KHOBAR: Kuwait has presented a plan to protect marine sailing routes, fight piracy and combat armed assaults. Lt Commander Sheikh Mubarak Ali Yousef Al-Sabah, head of marine operations of the Kuwaiti Coast Guard, said in a statement yesterday that he had presented the plan to the Third International Symposium for Marine Disaster Management, held in the city of Al-Khobar in Al-Sharkiah region.
