Bahraini Royal Family beating and torturing political prisoners
The BCHR expresses grave concern and is alarmed to learn that members of the Alkhalifa family have personally been involved in beating and torturing pro-democracy protesters. After the crackdown on the pro-democracy movement in Bahrain the Center has been receiving reports from victims that they were subjected to severe beatings and torture by people they identified as members of the Bahraini royal family.
Five members of Alkhalifa have been specifically mentioned by victims, they are: Noura Alkhalifa, Khalifa Bin Ahmed Alkhalifa, Khalifa Bin Abdulla Alkhalifa and sons of the King, Khaled Bin Hamad Alkhalifa and Nasser Bin Hamad Alkhalifa.
One of the victims subjected to torture by Nasser Bin Hamad Alkhalifa is Swedish citizen, Mohammed Habeeb Al-Muqdad, currently imprisoned at Al-Gurain military prison.

OMG, when I read this i was so shocked!I didn´t believe it,usually the royals don´t get their hands dirty when they are trying to oppress the opposition...I was especially disappointed about Nasser:
"The victim says Nasser never used his hands but kicked him, in sensitive areas, in his head and chest, and mostly on his face until he started bleeding." I always had a very positive image of him because he seemed to care a lot for his daughter and Sheikha Sheikha, but if the story is true,I don´t have any respect for this man anymore!Kicking somebody in his back or sensitive area is a definite no-go no matter what this person has done to you...and it is cowardly, gutless and dishonorable to hurt someone who cannot defend himself, especially if they were protesting peacefully....

i don´t believe this news...seems to me like the protesters want to put a bad light on the royals to damage their reputation. it wouldn´t make sence that Nasser and his siblings torture prisonors...why should they risk that? and Noora (i guess it´s about Noora bint Hamad)? an 18 year old girl going to the prison torturing people? this is ridicioules....the whole story also sounds very made up and people who love children and animals usually aren´t like that....
of course there are many things going wrong in Bahrain and I´m sure that the prisonors have a hard time but this article has no prove and seems like propaganda...

Princess Noora who tortured people is at her forties. It's not King's daughter.
'Human Rights Watch' has info about the members of Bahraini royal family involved in torturing prisoners.
It does not seem a propaganda. This whole story is so sad...

Kasumi,I´m afraid you are right :-( Maybe not all of the accusations are right, but I don´t think they made up the whole story...and just because someone is nice to HIS children, wife, pets etc. doesn´t mean he´s also treating other people right...
Let´s just wait and see if there is further information available on this topic,as long as there is no more proof we should not speculate about the people involved IMO. There are human rights violation in many Gulf regions but usually the "Top-guys" don´t get personally involved in the torture or violence...

Bahraini princess accused of torturing hospital medical staff

A BAHRAINI princess has been accused of involvement in the torture of detainees during the country's suppression of anti-government protesters this year. Some of the doctors who have been sentenced to lengthy jail terms for supporting the Shia-led protests against the ruling al-Khalifa family have alleged that Sheikha Noora bint Ibrahim al-Khalifa beat prisoners with sticks and a rubber hose, and gave electric shocks to the face with a cable.
The case against the doctors has provoked international condemnation of the Bahrain government. The medical staff allege they were tortured in custody and forced to sign false confessions.
The princess works as an undercover police detective in counter-narcotics. Born into the third tier of the royal family, she is believed to be a cousin of Queen Sabika bint Ibrahim al-Khalifa. - Full article

I hope the whole issue will be brought up before a fairminded court...I´ve even seen some muslim women being attacked in Manamah during the demonstrations but I never believed that a close member of the family had tortured or violated anyone themselves...it´s difficult to see the truth in all the chaos & I hope that there is going to be real justice and the victims get some kind of compensation for their suffering...
