Deputy Minister of the Amiri Court Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al Sabah (R) and a dignitary free two white doves to symbolize a message of peace to the country and the world, in Salmiya February 24, 2011. Five thousand doves were released from 40 foot containers in a symbolic gesture of peace at the start of four days of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the country's independence, and 20 years of liberation from the Iraqi invaders.

HH the Emir Leaves Kuwait
HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani left here today wrapping up a two -day visit to Kuwait at the invitation of the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to attend Kuwait''s celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of independence, the 20th liberation day and the 5th anniversary his accession to power. HH the Emir and his accompanying delegation were seen off at Kuwait International Airport by Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah and Qatari Ambassador to Kuwait Abdul Aziz Saad Al-Fehaid.
