On August 13, Noblesse & Royautes will interview Prince Alexander (not the Crown Prince) in connection with his ninetieth birthday. His wife Princess Barbara will also take part in the interview:

And on August 13, Prince Alexander and Princess Barbara's interview took place. Below is a much shorter version of the interview, which you can read in more detail here.

Prince Alexander was born at the White Lodge in Surrey, England on 13 August 1924. He is the first child of Prince Paul and his wife, Princess Olga of Greece and Denmark.

Prince Alexander has lived and worked in Paris for most of his life, which resulted him in becoming close friends with the Count and Countess of Paris as well as the Count of Evreux, whom he said is always very caring and loving towards him and Princess Barbara. However currently, the couple are living in Marbella, Spain.

He said he remembers his childhood well, and has clear memories of the time when he started school in England, when he was around eight years old. He said that it's like he started yesterday. When he was thirteen, he went to Eton College.

His parents lived in Beli Dvor, a complex in the White Palace in Belgrade, Serbia, although they also loved their time in England. They decorated their residence in Serbia with artwork that Prince Paul had purchased. However, when Prince Alexander was seventeen, he and his family had to go into exile as the monarchy had been abolished. They firstly stayed in Lake Navashisha in Kenya, before moving on to South Africa, where they befriended the Greek Royal Family.

Some photos from the interview:

One ~ Two ~ Three ~ Four ~ Five ~ Six ~ Seven ~ Eight ~ Nine ~ Ten

I hope I've translated the interview correctly.

Noblesse & Royautes were granted access to Princess Barbara's photo album. Princess Barbara is the wife of Prince Alexander, who recently turned ninety. From what I understand (Google Translator isn't the best at all times), Princess Barbara was born a Princess of Liechtenstein, but she now lives in Paris. Below are some of the photos from Princess Barbara's photo album.

Princess Barbara and Prince Alexander ~ Princess Barbara and Prince Dushan in 1979 ~ Princess Barbara and Prince Alexander at their religious wedding ~ Princess Barbara and Prince Alexander attending a regular charity/cultural event in Paris ~ Prince Alexander with his sons Princes Dushan and Michael ~ Prince Alexander wearing his royal regalia ~ Prince Dushan ~ Another photo of Princess Barbara and Prince Alexander ~ Prince Dushan on holiday in Spain ~ Another photo of Prince Dushan holidaying ~ Prince Dushan skiing ~ Prince Dushan learnt how to ski during a summer holiday to St. Moritz ~ He is now an avid skier

How is Prince Alexander related to Crown Prince Alexander?

He is his 2nd cousin once removed, however his father Paul was regent for CP Alexander's father Peter II since he was underage when he took power after his father Alexander I was assassinated.

I agree with you SnowBirds, as I too think they work so hard, and are quite sincere. I think the Crown Prince is a hard working man, who wants nothing more than happiness and love in the country he cares for so deeply. Although Serbia would likely vote against the restoration of the monarchy, as I personally feel the lies and not so nice things made up, will forever haunt this family, and the hard work of the Crown Prince specifically might be in vein. My hope is that the people will be more warm over time, and be open to Hereditary Crown Prince Petar becoming head of the family in the future to continue the work his father has done.

Why Serbia would vote against the restoration of the monarchy?
The Royal Family appears that does a good job.

I am not necessarily saying that Serbs would vote against a restoration. What I was dating is -despite the Crown Princes hard work, the idea of a restoration is not hugely supported due to the lies and horrible things that were spread about the Crown Princes father HM King Peter II. HM was accused to many horrible things, and it has been hard to reverse a lot of them. It is for this reason that I ask this!

It's good to see Hereditary Prince Peter taking part in this event as well. I hope that will continue into the new year, for the cause of the monarchy itself, and to bond more with the country and its people in a positive way.

Me too. It's nice to see the princes take part in these events when they can.
