Everybody noticed how the role of Princess Sophie was hardly remembered publicly these days.

Carmen Iohannis, the wife of recently-elected President Klaus Iohannis, appeared in a documentary broadcast yesterday on TVR and dedicated to the twenty-fifth anniversary of the return of Crown Princess Margarita to her country.

Mrs Iohannis praised the way in which the Crown Princess has diligently endeavored to increase the prosperity of the Romanian people through the work of her foundation.

Carmen Iohannis said that Her Royal Highness has continued in the example set by her fore-bearers Queen Elisabeth and Queen Marie.

This anniversary is worth noting, indeed, for both princesses. However, perhaps the emphasis is on the return of Crown Princess Margarita because she was the first of her family to dedicate herself to her country by working to better the lives of the most vulnerable members of the Romanian population--the youth and the elderly. For that effort, HRH should be commended greatly.

That said, it is very encouraging that Princess Sofia is in Bucharest for these celebrations as she played an integral role in the establishment of the PMRF in the early days.

Hear, hear! Although the ceremonies mark the 25th anniversary of the return of Princesses Margareta and Sofia, they also rightly celebrate a quarter of a century of tireless commitment shown by the Crown Princess to Romania and she deserves to be at the centre of events. The arrivals of Prince Nicolae and of Princess Maria in Romania in recent years and the visits of Princesses Elena and Sofia further underline the family's ongoing commitment to their country. Romania is fortunate to have such a Royal Family.

Everybody respects what Princess Margareta did for the country. She will certainly continue her work at her Foundation all her life.

Photos from the concert. The Romanian Athenaeum is really a gorgeous place. Crown princess Margarita looked lovely in her blue dress.

This week's "Ora Regelui" had a big coverage of last weekends events.
They also showed how Princess Sofia unveiled the philatelic panel dedicated to Romfilatelia's postage stamp issue Royalty in Romania, to be introduced into circulation on January 30th, 2015, representing a tribute to the four royal couples in the history of Romanian monarchy.

Princess Sofia was not accompanied by her daughter. Is her ex husband still living in Bucharest?

It was Princess Sophie's first visit to Romania in 17 years.

Marlene , Do you know why Prince Lorenz was there and why the only Royal Guest?
Thanks for answering.

The Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest was such a splendid and ornate setting for the gala banquet.

Obviously Mr Michel Biarneix was not invited.

Just like lots of other people weren't invited.
Besides, why should he have been invited? He and the Princess have divorced many years ago and AFAIK he has never been liked by the Royal family.

I suppose Mr Biarneix still live in Bucharest.

Prince Radu and prince Nicolae visited on Monday and Tuesday Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. They met prime minister Cyril Gaburici and the Speaker of the Parliament Andrian Gandu.

On the occasion of the birthday of Crown Princess Margarita (which is today) and the proclamation of the Kingdom of Romania in 1881, there was a royal medal ceremony and dinner at the Peleș Castle on Wednesday. Crown princess Margarita delivered the medals and prince Radu attended.
After the ceremony there was a reception, where also prince Nicolae and princess Maria attended.

In the evening, Crown Princess and Prince Radu gave a dinner in the State Dining Room in the presence of prince Nicolae and princess Maria. The dinner was honored by the President of Romania and Mrs. Iohannis.
Among the guests were Archduchess Maria Magdalena of Austria and her husband, baron Hans-Ulrich von Holzhausen.

From the Facebook of president Iohannis:
My wife and I attended last night at the official dinner offered by the Royal House at the Peleș Castle, the birthday of Crown princess Margarita. For me, the royal family is not only an essential page in the history of our country, but also a symbol of the values we admire: respect for people, power to overcome injustice and hardship, and to show generosity.

I don't know what to think about.
Even in the Belgium Royal Court this Event/glitter/bowings will never happen and should have had great Critics.

Super photos. HRH the Crown Princess exudes charm, charisma, style and class. Now, Mr. President, lead the way towards a revision of the Romanian Constitution to establish a ceremonial monarchy alongside an executive presidency, combine a modern, democratic system of government with an institution that gives expression to the rich heritage, culture, history and values of the Romanian people.

Finally, many happy returns to the Princess.

This year in Romania the Roman-catholics will celebrate Easter on the 5th of April and the Greek-catholics and the Orthodox on the 12th of April. HM Queen Ana and HRH Princess Elena's husband Mr Alexander Nixon McAteer are both Roman Catholics but the other members of the Family are Orthodox. Will the Royal Family celebrate both Easters this year?

Around 90% of the Christians in the world had Easter on the 5th of April. The Greek-Catholics and the Orthodox in Romania will celebrate Easter on the 12th of April.

How do they normally celebrate Easter or Christmas with the family having Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox members.

It is hard to know if they attend Mass every Sunday and so if they are more than nominally Orthodox or Catholic.

Isn't RC Easter on the 5th and Orthodox on the 12th? Problem solved.
