Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu today inaugurated King Mihail's Technology High School in Savarsin. Her Majesty unveiled the king's oil portrait, in the main hall of the school, donated on this occasion by the Royal Family.

On Friday, 26 October Prince Radu received at the Elisabeta Palace on behalf of Her Majesty a group of young Romanian diplomats who were in the first days of their activity after the oath of faith to the country.

How young they are . They are diplomats for the Romanian Republic . I wonder what Prince Radu knows about diplomats . He was sitting on a royal Throne.
 
It is curious that the Prince Consort presides over the majority of events at Elisabeta Palace these days.

The Custodian of the Crown is sometimes seen, but more often, not.

Princess Maria's profile is also more visible than her sister's nowadays.

Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu today begins a visit to the Croatia before Romania takes over the presidency of the Council of the European Union. The visit will take three days.
They arrived in Zagreb on the afternoon yesterday, on Sunday, 4 November where Mr. Constantin Mihail Gregory, the ambassador of Romania to the Croatia, met with them.

Today 6 November Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu met at the Presidential Palace with Mrs. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, President of Croatia.

Also today were guests of the Zagreb City Hall, where they met the mayor Milan Bandic.

It is simply beyond believe:


a - an almost completely functioning monarchy embedded in a republic
b - Radu dominating the agenda
 
Romania will take over the Predency of the Council of the European Union. Will the Queen come to Brussels with Romanian President , Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affair ??

I don't think so.
We never see any EU monarch in Brussels when their country takes over the presidency.
 
You are right for the CEE , I was wrong. But why is she in Croatie ?
 
On behalf of Her Majesty Margareta, on Monday, 26 November , the afternoon, at the Hall of the Throne in the Royal Palace, a ceremony was given to grant the Royal House Provider.
A total of 21 companies and individuals have received or assumed the status of royal supplier for a period of three years. The certificates were handed over by Prince Radu.

Today Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu were honorable guests at the Thanksgiving service dedicated to Romania at the Queen's Chapel of Savoy in London.
Princess Elena and Mr. Alexander Nixon were also present.
The British Royal Family was represented by Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

'Queen' Margareta and Prince Radu popped to Clarence House yesterday to see the Prince of Wales, they are old friends.

The meeting was broadcast in Romania on TVR [the Public Broadcaster [and this is a screenshot from their coverage].

The exterior shots were from Peleș Castle but I believe the Crown Princess and husband spend Christmas at Săvârșin Castle.
 
Jean Claude Juncker President of the European Commission is afraid about the Roumanian Predency starting on January the first for 6 months. There is too much division between the President and the other politicians. Corruption is omni present.

What a lovely film. I liked the old steam-train with the royal wagons. Nice to see the Prince of Wales, the remembrance of the 1918 Armistice, the presidency of the EU, the Address to the Parliament, visiting a submarine of the Romanian Navy, etc. It was interesting to see the diplomatic reception be filmed. It is in every way alike any monarchy in Europe, without being one. Fascinating! She keeps being referred as H. M. Margareta, Custodian of the Crown, and that is indeed exactly what her current position is.
