This story is very strange and difficult to believe.

I can only understand that they believe that the pictures date back to October 2015 (and not to January 2016 as declared). But why do they think so?

They said their specialists had this opinion. There is a lot of confusion recently regarding some news about the King's Family.

But they don't explain the reason for this opinion, do they?

They said they scaned the photos. I am not an expert so I don't know how they can do that.
It is obvious there is a campaign of a part of the Romanian press against the King's Family (at least against a part of it).

I understood Romania to be a republic and Mihail announced his abdication in the 1940,s, so he is souvereign of what exactly?

He is a former head of state, the present head of the Royal House of Romania. As such he has a semi-public status. The Government provides the former King with a residence (Elisabeta Palace, see picture), an office and other support.

The residence was given to the Sovereign by the state as his official residence. Practicly he lived very little in that Palace in the last years.

King Michael is one of the last monarchs/ex-monarchs to reign during WWII. The only other one I can think of is the former King Simeon of Bulgaria.

He has had a very tragic life and he has suffered since he was a child because of family misunderstandings.

He is certainly a symbol of dignity and he has always been a devout Christian.

Which daughters are near the King these days?

If the King is so seriously ill why his eldest daughter does not stay near him?

It's not like the Communists left anyone with much choice; during the post-WWI era the Reds were butchering one royal family after another.

Michael never announced his abdication .. he was forced at gunpoint to abdicate ... it was forced. It was not his choice. Once out of Romania, he recanted his comments.

The Bolsheviks and their successors were responsible for the deaths of members of the Imperial family, princely families, as well as ordinary people. The only other member of a reigning royal family killed by the Communists was Prince Kyril of Bulgaria, one of the regents for the minor King Simeon. All the members of the Yugoslav royal family got when Germany invaded, although the late King Alexander I's elder son George remained in Belgrade. All of the Romanians were forced out, put on trains. KIng Zog and his wife and infant son escaped when the Italians came in.

What happened in 1947 was not a valid abdication because he was forced to do it.

The descendants of the King won't certainly become more popular if there are no taxes paid.

The local mayor of the town where the castle is seems to support the idea of the King not paying tax on the property - is it a decision that can be made by the local tax authorities or is it a governmental decision I wonder?

The mayor also stated that Crown Princess Margareta will be required to pay the tax (seeing as she isn't a war veteran!) and so there should be concern over the popularity of King Michael's descendants.

Now everybody speaks about properties and taxes not about restoration of Monarchy. What a pity.

Any news about the royal couple?

Nothing that I am aware of - we may get some news and pictures when Princess Margareta and Prince Radu visit the King and Queen later this week.

Who is the owner of the Aubonne rrsidence? Is it a property of the Bourbon-Parme Family?

Prince Radu made some comments about the health of the King a few days ago, where he said that although the King's condition was stable, his health was not improving. For a man of his advanced age affected by a serious medical condition, it's not a surprise at this stage.
I don't think we should expect much in the area of photos, the King is ill and the Queen is frail, and it doesn't seem the right thing to do, to photograph either one at this stage.

Most interesting to see the interview with Prince Charles on the previous page - thank you, Benjamin.

Prince Charles has always respected the Romanian royal couple very much.
