Never an Non Reigning Queen has such an Official Funeral Celebrations.
I am impressed who the Protocole is repected. I think this a solid preparation between the Romanian Socialist President and Authorities , the Crown Princess AND specially her husband.
Great Dignity and Self Controle from the Crown Princess who certainly is thinking to her old Father and his Future Funerals at the same Places.

I wonder because of all that buzz involving state authorities and institutions is quite hard to understand to me. I'm a staunch republican, though interested in all things Royal and I can't imagine why would there be a day of national mourning for the funeral of a wife of a former head of state who wasn;t even married to him in the time he was in office or on the throne.
Anyway, what is the public oppinion about this and about the deceased in general in Romania? Was Anne viewed as "their Queen" by the Romanians or just by a group of traditionalists/monarchists/royal followers?

This is a semi-official national funeral, along the lines one would had hoped for, but that most would not had expected, and frankly, the government deserves respect for how they have cooperated with the Royal House on this delicate and emotional issue.
