Volen Siderov: Saxe-Coburg Gotha Is Getting His Properties if He Doesn’t Interfere Parvanov to Be Reelected
August 6, 2006
Quote from the article:
“It is obvious there is a deal in connection with the future presidential elections. Simeon is getting his properties and NMSII will not hamper the reelection of Parvanov”, Volen Siderov stressed.
“The deal is affecting the whole attitude of the coalitional partners inside the coalition after 1 January 2007 when the NMSII should not try to destroy the triple cabinet because there were such intentions”, the leader of Attack underlined.
HE stated that the giving of the properties to Simeon was a crime and that BSP was aiming only to preserve the power with any means – lies, deceits and covering of a crime.

Court Fails to Present Former Bulgaria Tsar with Birthday Gift
16 June 2009
The District Court in the city of Plovdiv decided Tuesday to postpone for October the so-called "Krichim palace" ownership case.
Bulgaria's former Tsar, Simeon Saxe-Coburg, and his sister Maria Luisa seek to regain ownership on the former Krichim royal residence, and were hoping to hear the decision of the Court on the issue within a month.
The Court was expected to give a clear indication of how they would rule as early as Tuesday, which happens to be Simeon's 72nd birthday.

Krichim Palace
Bulgarian court rejects appeal of ex-Tsar in palace property case - Novinite.com
The Plovdiv Appellate Court has confirmed the ruling of the district magistrates, which rejected the claim of Bulgaria's former Tsar and PM Simeon Saxe-Coburg and his sister Maria-Louisa in the dispute over the former Krichim.
In the past couple of years, the Bulgarian state and Simeon Saxe-Coburg and his sister Maria-Louisa have been tangled in a legal battle over the ownership of several real estate properties used by the Bulgarian royal family before its ousting by the communists in 1946. The properties were restored to the ex-Tsar in 2001-2005 when he was the Prime Minister of Bulgaria but after 2009 the Borisov government has initiated proceedings to regain the ownership over them.
On Friday, the Plovdiv Appellate Court held a sitting on the case of the Krichim Palace and an adjacent agricultural land of 371 decares. The magistrates confirmed that 2010 ruling of the District Court in Plovdiv that the royal residence is not the property of the former Bulgarian royal family.
According to the Appellate Court, the Krichim Palace was not acquired on behalf of Saxe-Coburg or personally for him, as a private entity.
The Ministry of Agriculture has also filed a claim against the former Tsar for the return of all 16 000 decares of forests he received in Rila.

Vrana Palace, Tsarska Bistrirsa & Sitnyakovo
Bulgaria wants back 'unlawfully returned' estates of ex-King - Sofia news Agency
24 March 2011
The Bulgarian state has asked to take back three royal residences – Tsarska Bistrirsa, Sitnyakovo and Vrana Palace – and has claimed for compensation of BGN 110 000 for their use throughout the years. The return of the three palaces and their lands happened years ago. The restoration of heris' ownership of Tsarska Bistritsa and Sitnyakovo has been approved by the governor of Sofia, while the mayor of Sofia at the time, Stefan Sofianski, has signed the documents for the return of Vrana Palace.
According to the lawyers, Tsarska Bistritsa has a land of approximately 200 decares, while the Vrana Palace has more than 990 decares.
The claim for the Sitnyakovo residence is only for the building, since the surrounding land is owned by the municipality. The claims ask the Sofia District Court and Sofia City Court to declare as invalid the documents by which the heirs of Tsar Ferdinand entered into possession of the properties.
On March 11, the Plovdiv Appellate Court rejected the claim of the ex-Tsar and his sister in the dispute over the former Krichim palace.

Administrative Court Sofia- District (ACSD) has revoked the tree felling ban in the forests of former Bulgarian Tsar and former Prime Minister, Simeon Saxe-Coburg and his sister Maria-Louisa.
The decision adds a new twist to the saga with the so called "Tsar's estates" - the properties that were allegedly owned by the Bulgarian royal family before 1946, and that were restored to Saxe-Coburg's ownership after he became Prime Minister of Bulgaria in 2001.

Maybe only the European Court of human rights will clarify the situation of these goods.

For me this issue is not unclear, but a friend very knowledgeable in these matters, told me that the problem is that some goods of Simeone and his sister were not restored by the Government of Bulgaria,... They claimed the courts of Bulgaria the return of these properties, but the Bulgarian government has refused it. Tsar Simeone one years ago, he demanded in the Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg the restitution of his right to property

Bulgarian Monarchy Status & Restitution.
What is the up-to-date situation and status of The Royal Family and HM King Simeon regarding any property claims and restitution?
Where does King Simeon and Queen Margarita now live, and what is their official status and position, compared with that of those returned Royals in Albania, Montenegro, Romania?
Also where does Princess Maria Louisa now live, and has she had any property restitution?

King Simeon II and Queen Margarita live in Sofia. Most of the time. They often travel to Spain.
So far the problem of properties of the King is not on the agenda here. Their official status is "citizens" of Bulgaria, but most people call them King and Queen, though.
Princess Marie Louise did not lives in Bulgaria. She comes here often, but she lives mostly in the U.S..
