Royalty of Croatia

Has anyone heard of the Croatian royalty. I'm Croatian. I know of King Tomislav and Queen Jelena, and I know that they died out in the middle ages. DOes anyone have any info on them at all?

It is organization of Croatian noble families. It has very useful information, and also list of all noble families and their webpages. If you know Croatian, there should be no problem.:)

Dobar dan Ianna! I know a bit of Croatian. My dad once told me that some of our ancestors were Croatian nobility. We have a family crest. Alot of the family crests are rather similar to mine. Mine has a knight with a lion standing on top his head. The knight is holding a shield with a half moon on it. But, I don't see my family crest on the list

I'll try to find more pages. It's a interesting crest your family has. Maybe the list of families depends who contacted that organization and showed them they are noble, like family crest, documents?

Bok Mashka! When you have time, you can explore your family tree..There are always some interesting facts you can find and that can help you. Having a family crest is good start..When you described it, is sounded familiar to me somehow but have to look at some papers..

Aimone, Duke of Aosta and his wife were King Tomislav II and Queen Irene of Croatia from 1941-1943. They never actually visited their "kingdom", however.

Croatia has many princes and princess. Otto, head of the House of Habsburg, claims the title of King of Croatia and his wife Regina claims the title of Queen of Croatia. In fact, all the living members of the House of Habsburg claim the title of Prince of Croatia - including The Archduchess of Austria-Este, daughter of The King of the Belgians.

I'd love to see Croatia electing a member of the House of Habsburg (preferably one of Otto's descendants) as King/Queen of Croatia, though expecting that could be a bit unrealistic. Monarchy under the Habsburgs would benefit Croatia in so many ways - it would calm the political situation, as the head of state would no longer be associated with politics, and tourism would bloom, and Croatia would become politically much closer to Europe as a kingdom headed by a Habsburg.

This is all very good to know...My mother is Croation (Dad Irish) born in 1940. She knows nothing about the Croation royal family. I would love to be able to tell her!

My dad is Croatian, he knows nothing about the royal family either. I think I'll show him the page. I can't read Croatian even though I can speak it a little and understand most of it. Anyway, we don't have a family crest I think, we have a very common surname We are commoners 100% lol I'm fine with it.

My dad, who doesnt agree with monarchies wont be happy if there's a monarchy in his home country even though he does not live there anymore. I believe if a country abolish their monarchy it should stay that way regardless...

I've a coratioan friend his cast is lucic i gues lochich he is old man with old socilist mentality but he is very cute guy and loves peace and global hormony but he believes counrties with monarchy system are more secure and peaceful than other countries where mafia can control ver easily without watch
