Countess Marianne Bernadotte attended last week at a meeting of Stadsbrudskåren. It consists of over 20 interesting women and was founded in 1965. It's purpose is to raise funds which are then donated to support vulnerable women and children in Stockholm. They were planning the auction which will be held in November.

Countess Bettina Bernadotte hosted on 11th September the visit of parliamentary candidate Nese Erikli and Minister Alexander Bonde to the Mainau Island, the visit was about the environment and tourism. The Mainau is a flagship in terms of environmental awareness and sustainability for Baden-Württemberg. The flower island is also in the second round of the certification process to that the state government gives the seal of "sustainable tourism". Alexander Bonde, provincial Minister of Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection and Nese Erikli, parliamentary candidate of the Greens visited the Island. "The visitor numbers are not specifically back because of the heat. There are months when it gets better and other months when people come less to the island", said Bettina Bernadotte. The actual main theme of the visit was to sustainability in tourism. "The Mainau advertises already with offers at day trippers to reduce driving," she said. "The request is unfortunately not as strong as hoped," added the parliament candidate. "The sustainability in tourism is obviously a market which is interesting in Germany," stressed the Minister.

Today is the International Day of the Girl Child.
Nearly 50 landmark at 30 locations in Germany shine in hot pink. The Mainau Castle is one of them. With the campaign, the children's charity Plan International wants to put attention worldwide to the needs of girls. Countess Bettina Bernadotte is a member of the board of Trustees of the Plan International Germany.

On Monday 28th September pupils from Werkrealschule made an excursion to the island of Mainau. Reason for the trip was the invitation by Countess Sandra Bernadotte. To get this invitation, students in grades 1-4 created a music calendar. The Countess liked the calendar so much that all students and their teachers received an invitation to visit the Countess on the island of Mainau.

This year the extraordinary event celebrated its tenth anniversary with a comprehensive program. One of the highlights was the hat fashion show by countess Diana Bernadotte. The "Hat Countess" presented her latest creations in the latest colors with an extraordinary spectacle. The popular headgears of the countess were presented personally by the count's family Bernadotte (Bettina, Diana, Björn and Sandra).
The attractive hat workshop has become popular with celebrities from nobility, politics and society. With their special hat creations, the count's family made also the traditional opening tour of the feast. "It's nice to see how the Castle Festival has developed in the last ten years," says countess Diana.

There has been an infected brawl that has lasted for over two years. It began when the Bernadotte family farm Karl-Johansgården (which Cecilia Bernadotte inherited in 1989 when her mother Karin died) on Hyltingeö in Sörmland in Stjärnhov was written over from the king's cousin Cecilia Bernadotte af Wisborg to her sister-in-law Gunilla Bernadotte. The district court made the decision in favor of Gunilla Bernadotte, but the Svea Court of Appeal changed the decision in favor of Cecilia Bernadotte. Jan Bernadotte was furious at the time and tried to get the Supreme Court to make an assessment of the case. Now the Supreme Court announces: "No review permit. The Court of Appeal's decision is thereby confirmed."
So the Supreme Court refuses to let the row continue and it is clear that Cecilia Bernadotte af Wisborg wins against her sister-in-law Gunilla Bernadotte.

In 2010 the Mainau Castle and Mainau GmbH opened on countess Sandra Bernadotte's initiative Café Vergissmeinnicht. A café where young people with special needs get to work and get the opportunity to optimally prepare in a protected environment for professional life.
Now, on 12th November, the Audi Factory in Ingolstad opened also Café Vergissmeinnicht. Eight young people with special needs get to work there in a year. Countess Sandra was of course taken of the idea and very delighted when she arrived to the café for the first time: "When I entered the room for the first time, I was moved to tears. The cafe is so lovingly furnished. I know that our concept will manage here just as well as on the island of Mainau".

The german press writes sometimes of a count Steven Bernadotte von/af Wisborg (Steven Graf Bernadotte von/af Wisborg). He is 28 years old, some kind of a celebrity and at the previous articles it has been said that he is a member of the swedish royal family. He has designed a fashion collection and has an own perfume.
Now there is a new article, where it is said that king Carl Gustaf is Steven's "Großonkel", and that he is 26th at the list of the successors to the swedish throne.

His whole name is Graf Bernadotte af Wisborg, Steven Norman Wilfried, born 23.04.1987. At least that he has told to some kind of a business register.

I have wondered if this Steven married german Gerhard Bernadotte, whom Jan Bernadotte adopted 1987 and who called himself then count Bernadotte. Jan Bernadotte was in financial trouble and got money from then 34-year old Gerhard from the adoption. It has been unclear if the adoption was legal.

Maybe he got the surname Graf Bernadotte von Wisborg through adoption by another Mr. Graf Bernadotte von Wisborg?
For sure he isn't the 26th in the line of succession to the Swedish throne.

During the last couple of years when I have seen his interviews, videos etc., there has never been mentioned who is his father. Only that he is a member of the swedish royal family and at that one article that he is/was married to a male member of the family.

The Sigvard & Marianne Bernadotte Research Foundation for Children Eye Care celebrated it's 25th anniversary with a symposium of Nobel Forum at Karolinska Institutet followed by a mingle evening at the Aula Medica.
Countess Marianne Bernadotte held the welcoming speech.
The symposium included both a look back at the first 25 years of Professor Gunnar Lennerstrand but also a presentation of medals to the researchers of children's eyes, Professor Gerd Holmström, Uppsala, associate professor Lena Jacobson, Stockholm and Professor Jan Ygge, Stockholm.

It's obviously the daughter of Edward and Nathalie Bernadotte af Wisborg. Edward is the son of Bertil and Jill Bernadotte af Wisborg. They have already a son, Leonardo Folke, born in September 2013.
