Daniel, Carl Philip and Olle Westling are at the Icehockey World Championships semifinal Finland-Sweden at the Globen Arena in Stockholm. Carl Philip arrived a little later than Daniel.

Well, as a Finn I'm of course disappointed that Sweden won 3-0 and went to the World Championship final. Carl Philip gave award to the best swedish player of the game and both Daniel and Carl Philip were shown when they were singing the national anthem.

TV4 interviewed Daniel after the game. After the victory Tre Kronor were celebrated - and Prince Daniel joined in the chorus.
- It has been such an incredible nerve pressure. I think everyone feels like I, it's been so exciting. Now I feel like, "It's so much fun." It was super evenly. The Finns had a good second period. The Sedins are absolutely awesome. Fun for them to come home, too, they have dominated over in the NHL for many years but they have not been here very often. Before the Sedins came it looked tough. But the whole team lifted when they came.
And when Tre Kronor tomorrow faces Switzerland or the United States in the final, Daniel does not have a favorite opponent.
- Traditionally, people are more afraid of the U.S.. But Switzerland has played well, it will probably be tough regardless.

Does anyone know whether a member of the Royal Family will be present in Malmö tonight for the Eurovision Song Contest? Mette-Marit did attend the show when Norway won, so I was just wondering..

It doesn't seem so. Only prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and minister for foreign affairs Carl Bildt have been seen at the photos.
Victoria was today as the patron of Allmänna Sången in their 50 anniversary celebrations in Uppsala and Daniel was as the patron of the Icehockey World Championships in Stockholm, as was Carl Philip. Maybe they wouldn't have managed to get to Malmö without using a private jet, and didn't want to do that.

The king said that he was sorry that there couldn't be more members of the royal family at the final yesterday (Daniel was there and delivered the medals), but they had a family event...

Yes, I posted the article to the Ducal House of Saxe-Coburg und Gotha thread.

Expressen writes that the king and the queen used the Government Plane to fly to Germany, according to Bertil Ternert Victoria took a regular flight. The Head of State and the Deputy Head of State don't travel at the same plane.
According to the court it wasn't an official mission, but an event of purely private. Bertil Ternert says that there was no official activity. The reason is, that the royal couple yesterday, the day after the party, went to Oslo to meet the Norwegian royal couple, which is an official mission. Whoever did the planning for this trip felt that the plane can go down and then go onto the official trip. Ternert says that the Government Plane may only be used in connection with official travel. It is a trip planner who allows this and they obviously consider things. The king is very careful that he does not in any way use the aircraft too much.

Nice pictures, my impression is however that Victoria looks a bit absent minded. Her feelings are probably still in Sweden... unless she was thinking of the jet story...

I just saw Swedish tabloïds commented negatively the use of the government jet by the king and queen, as explained above. The number of people recommending the article was around 700!! exceeding by far the score of any article on their usual events or activities!!
