I did exactly the same thing. That underwear wouldn't even be used by me to clean a table. And I agree, men should never, ever buy underwear for women whether they are girlfriends or wives. Never, I tell you, NEVER!!!

Daniel - den nya stilprinsen
Daniel Westling har kastat kepsen.
Kronprinsessans pojkvän har bytt stil – till kavaj, skjorta och strikta glasögon.
Nu matchar han och Victoria varandra perfekt.

Jeansjacka och truckerkeps har länge varit Daniel Westlings signum.
Medan flickvännen Victoria oftast klär sig mer ”ordentligt” i dräkter, kavajer, stram hästsvans och glasögon.
Men nu har något hänt.
När paret gick på konsert med Destinys child i Globen nyligen dök en nystylad Daniel upp. Nu klädd i svagt randig skjorta, mörk kavaj, lätt slitna märkesjeans, blanka skor, välkammad frisyr och glasögon (nästan identiska med Victorias).

Mer elegant trend
Enligt trendanalytikern Cay Bond är Daniel helt rätt ute:
– Trenden har gått mot det mer eleganta.
Kavaj funkar därför utmärkt just nu. Fast ännu mer trendig blir Daniel om han vågar sig på en hel kostym med både kavaj och byxa – inte bara till fest.
– Kostymer ser man mycket nu. Många märken satsar på det, som Whyred, Acne och alla möjliga andra, säger Cay Bond.


-Märken oviktiga
Daniels variant, med slitna jeans till kavajen, kallar hon för ”lite brat-aktigt”.
Vilket märke kläderna har är egentligen inte särskilt viktigt, enligt Cay Bond. I stället uppmanar hon Daniel och andra män till mer eget klädtänkande:
– Mer individuellt mode även på killar, tack!

-Håret. Den största förändringen är att håret syns över huvud taget, i stället för att döljas av en stor truckerkeps. Välvaxat och slickat, passar perfekt till nya strikta stilen.

-Kepsen. Så lärde svenska folket först känna Daniel Westling – han var killen som hade keps. Alltid.

-Glasögonen. Ger nu ett vuxnare intryck, och matchar dessutom Victorias nästan skrämmande väl.

-Skjortan. Uppknäppt i halsen ger ett skönt ledigt intryck. Samtidigt som skjortan här fullbordar det mer ordentliga, välvårdade. Speciellt jämfört med om Daniel i stället skulle ha dragit på sig en av sina T-shirtar. Skjorta ärbetydligt bättre.

-Kavajen. Stor skillnad mot jeansjackan! Elegant och trendigt. Ger ett mycket välklätt intryck utan att det blir stelt.

-Jeansen. Lagom slitna. Det får inte bli för mycket, men nu fixar Daniel balansen avslappnat/stiligt bra.

Skorna. Inga slitna sneakers. Nu är det blankt, svart och klassiskt som gäller. Även på fötterna.

Hm, I must say, when I´ve read in the Expressen-article on the destiny´s child concert, that Daniel was more relaxed, I really had high expectations. But now, after more pics were published, I would say, he still gives me the impression of a sulking teenager.
At least Victoria seemed, as if she would have taken it with humour and smiled benignly into the cameras...

An article from kändisnytt...speculating if Daniel will come to the official show to Victoria´s birthday. A "source" says, that this would be a clear sign for an engagement and/or wedding.
The source also says, that it could be possible, that Daniel will ask her to marry him on her birthday (Why not on stage...jumping out of a cake...and holding up a ring ...ok ok...just Lenas wild fantasy...after watching too many episodes of the shows "nur die Liebe zählt" and "Traumhochzeit")

Släktträffen på Sofiero slott
Att kungabarnens respektive är portade till släktträffen på Sofiero slott i Helsingborg under torsdagen är helt enkelt för att inga av barnen ännu är förlovade och räknas då inte till familjen.

Victorias födelsedag kan bli mer än bara tårta
– Det kan tänkas att kungen i år godkänner att Daniel får vara med under tv-firandet av Victoria som ett led i att visa att Daniel är accepterad. Det skulle också vara ett passande tillfälle att visa det just då för det svenska folket. Det kan rent av vara så att Daniel tänker fria på självaste födelsedagen, säger en källa till Kändisnytt.

Yes, Daniels daddy Olle and his mummy Ewa, who probably watched their future daughter-in-law attending the wedding. I wonder, when those 2 became "Royal fans". Being a mean little rat, I would say the relationship of their son to a princess and the prospect of becoming the grandparents of the future heir has something to do with that Ok ok, maybe they just wanted to be nice...and maybe (though not very likely) they have even met Märtha and Ari via Victoria.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it a little tacky that the possible future in-laws of the future Queen of Sweden are posting congratulatory messages in a newspaper. They should learn to be a little more discrete if they want to be part of Daniel and Victoria's life.

Yes, this also came to my mind...but Märtha and Ari married on the 24th of May 2002 and as much as I know the press hasn´t revealed that Victoria is dating Daniel until the very end of May 2002. I though can´t say the exact date, because Expressen has deleted the archive until 2003. Aftonbladet has still some articles online

That the Westlings weren´t in the press until the end of May could also mean, that they were a little bit naive and have thought the relationship between their son and the princess would go on secretly for a while...
And I remember that especially Ewa Westling was more open in the beginning and has talked to Svensk Damtidning (telling what a big heart her son has and that Victoria is so uncomplicated). I guess pretty soon the white lady (aka Elisabeth Tarras Wahlberg) had a serious talk with her.
I though have a feeling Ewa is itching to deal with the press after the wedding. Probably she has already prepared the photos of baby Daniel in the paddling pool
That´s the problem with the in-laws of Royals. After the wedding you can hardly control them. The best (and worst) example for such behaviour is of course Sven O.
Let´s hope the Westlings are more discreet.

Summary of the big Expressen-Sunday-article:
This one is about Daniels two mentors. And I must say after I´ve read the headline and after I´ve seen the pics of the two guys I had high hopes, that Expressen has really revealed a big thing-but nada
Expressen tells (again) that Daniel gets lessons in english and conversation. And then they tell about his two so called mentors. Mats Jansson, 53, top manager for Axfood and Bernt Magnusson, 63, chairman of Skandia. Both grew also up on the countryside and both work out in Daniels gym and both give him advise. But as I get it mainly in the business field (in other words how to deal with his gyms). Both were interviewed and both say, that they work out with him and after it they talk with him about this and that. They say, that they don´t see themselves as mentors, because Daniel is a strong person, who can stand for himself alone.
Imo it would have been more interesting to know, who his teachers in english are and how often they meet for lessons. Strangely I really believe, that he already gets lessons. Though there´s no evidence.
Expressen has also started a poll "Will Daniel be a good prince". So far 71% of the 2436 persons say "yes" and only 29% "no". I wonder, what the TRF-ppl think on this question. Maybe I should add a poll like this (?)

Sometimes to search for "Olle Westling" is interesting. He is often interviewed of local newspapers about social spending. He has an interesting way to defend himself and his "kommun". In a way I´ve the feeling he will get along well with the king (ok, I should give more credit to the king. In 2005 he has always found the right words)

Hej Kåre med fru! Ja det var ju några år sedan Ewa och jag campade hos Er....1966! Men före det så var Kåre och jag FN-soldater i Gaza!!Vi träffades i Jerusalem 1965...vad tiden går. Hej Kåre and wife. Yes, it was a few years ago, when Ewa and me camped at your place. But before that Kåre and me were UN-soldiers in Gaza!! We met in Jerusalem 1965...how time goes by. We have two children, Anna born in 1970 and Daniel born in 1973. We will maybe meet in summer, because for then Ewa and me think about repeating our trip...maybe without camping. Have a good time! BTW since we have talked about books...when Daniel was asked in the interview to this school newspaper about reading, he said, that the book he´s currently reading is "stupid white men" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/006098726X/qid=1118619453/sr=8-2/ref=pd_csp_2/104-6336943-9940723?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 well, I´m not sure, if one has to give the link. The book is widely spread) On Ritva´s page I could read, that he has also said something else about books, but I couldn´t figure it out.
Does someone still own this issue of Svensk Damtidning (it must be one from late winter/early spring 2004...and it includes a summary of the interview)? Yeeeennniiieee (or someone else) do you still have this issue. IMO this is an very interesting thing to know (after all this bad press about his education)

Puh, hard one. And I would say, one can´t know...so far it´s even not sure, what title Daniel would get. Probably "prince"...but it could be, that he would get no title at all and would be known as "Herr" or that he would get an additonal title in form of "duke".
But my guess is, that Victoria´s children will get the surname "Westling"...because mainly the title is important. They would be known as HRH prince/princess X and not as X Westling.
Daniels sister Anna has kept her old name and has combined it with the name of her husband. Her name is "Anna Westling-Blom" So maybe Daniel and Victoria would take her as role model and Victoria would be known as "Bernadotte-Westling", and Daniel just as Westling...but I admit this solution seems weird.

I´m pretty sure, that the hubby (whoever it will be ) of Madeleine will get his surname. The same for the children. I guess she will make it like princess Christina, who and whose children have the surname Magnusson.
This would be then princess Madeleine, Mrs. Bergström...

It is my understanding the Royality to not have surnames - for example Bernadotte is the dynastic name but not a surname. Their grandchildren would need a surname and probably children of younger brothers and sisters, but definitely not the King, Queen, Crown Princess, Crown Prince and their first born children.

Article from Expressen. Basically it tells about the interview for the turkish newspaper. But one part is "new". I don´t neccessarily believe, that this friend is real or close, but I though don´t want to keep this back (from you)

Well, I don´t believe in an engagement in March (IMO this would happen earlier...since this is the "trend" in Royal houses) and this let me think, that the friend hasn´t too much insight...but maybe I´m wrong.

Daniels first official representation?

There is an article in Bunte which says that Daniel has to be very busy with learning english and good manners and everything because otherwise Victoria won't marry him. The article depends on what Victoria said in Turkey about her non-willingness to renounce to the throne. Nothing really new, but the article said also that there will be soon Daniels first official representation together with the royal family! Do they perhaps mean Victorias birthday event?
