Sorry, Dennism, I know it´s a bit ( understatement ) mean of me, but you gave me some good laughs when I read your translation. It´s easy for me, beeing swedish, so now you have the right to laugh at my english if you want to!
"Threw themselves into the wall", yepp, that what it says, and how do I translate that...? it´s like they have no chance to compete so they might as well threw themselves... I can´t think of a similar phrase in english.
"Lillsessan..." Lill=lilla= small, tiny Sessa=short for prinsessa=princess So " Baby-princess IS the most sparkling diamond, both her sister Victoria and mother Silvia have to appologize" ( us for saying this).
"Det är i och för sig ingen hemlighet.." "There is no secret about the fact that our youngest princess has an apperance that attracts."
"Ett killmagasin...." A mens magazine reasently made a wall chart, a gatefold pinup (my dictionary´s word), with a bikiniclad Madeleine, and according to sources the tabloid hit the stands" ( or something like that -and know YOU may laugh Dennism!)
"Runt om i Europa" = throughout Europe
Then the photographers and the journalist who wrote this go wild, even I don´t get the meaning about the toplids that fly... but anyway, it happens any time she makes an entrance at the red carpet.
About the men and there gloves... another swedish expression hard to translate. "Put your gloves on something" is like...grabbing, taking, trying to take something you really want.
During the time I needed for this translation Dennism has written me a private message, begging my to have mercy on his swedish. I´m just trying to help you, laughing WITH you, not in a mean way in your face, it´s hard to sound nice and sweet with no voice .
