I think if Prince Carl Philip had been the next King of Sweden, then I would see serious problems, with her past catching up with her. A totally different scenario would then come into play. E.g. Would he have to abdicate like King Edward VIII, to marry her? That would be up to the people of Sweden. But in any case, he was not first born, so no issue there.

The British people have had to accept Camilla as Queen Consort, but back in 1936, with Edward VIII, the people refused to do so!

This can be a reason but in general I'd say that attitudes change over the years, people mellow. I was able to do things completely out of reach for my older siblings without even an eyebrow raised from my parents. My husband was welcomed into the family pre-marriage in a far more open way than my sibling's partners, and that wasnt because the other partners weren't liked. Maybe as a parent, if you have gone through a certain process with your child once, you don't bother much next time. I agree that Victoria & Daniel had to suffer from this changing attitude the most, while Madde and especially CG will benefit a great deal. The eldest has always fight twice as hard for something that will be business as usual for the youngest.

Sofia hasn't been modelling for underwear. She posed for doubtful photos naked/topless when she was a minor, she posed for men's magazine Slitz topless with only a snake on her and was chosen as Miss Slitz. She attended the TV-reality show Paradise Hotel and later posed for nude photos in New York. She also did a swimsuit photoshoot.

This is all right but this still doesn't make her a stripper.

Well, having seen an absolutely gorgeous woman perform an amazing "strip tease" more in line with Gypsy Rose Lee, I have more respect for a "Stripper" than a soft porn model any day of the week!

If he wants her as his wife, the bad reports won't stop him from doing do! So might as well forget her past, and move on!!

Has she been welcomed by the Swedish people/press? It seems the King himself, has accepted her into the family.

This thread is a good example of the Green Eyed Monster at work...and, mostly, Sofia's detractors are women.

Why should Carl Phillip be any different from Daddy Carl? Didn't the King visit strip clubs while married to Queen Silvia? I don't see what the big deal is. If the two daughters were allowed to marry commoners, why can't Carl Phillip marry the woman who makes him happy?

I still think Carl Philip will marry Sofia and members of the public will either accept Sofia or not, end of.

Yes indeed...it's out of the question that women could genuinely feel that she is unworthy of being a member of the SRF, because females are catty and dumb and unable to form opinions that require critical thinking.

It's the same as saying anyone who approves of Sofia is amoral and has probably led a sordid private life. In other words, deeply and profoundly insulting.

Has anyone ever thought how the press would have handled, if Madeleine had found a man who has posed naked and dated him? Would the press have loved a man who has posed with a snake or posed in nude photos when he was a minor? Or kissed a male porn star? I think not. It is easier for the press to be positive about a pretty girl and see her as a victim who has done mistakes some years ago.

Yup. Plus men don't have their sexuality commodified in the same way to begin with.
