This is exactly how I feel. What did he think was going to happen. Her past will always be topic of conversation.

I hope this incident has shown CP how he seriously needs to think about pursuing this relationship furthur with Sofia.

If anything, I think this incident will make C-P dig in his heels and cling even more stubbornly to this woman.

The people who need to be doing some serious reflecting here are the King and Queen, and the people in charge of public relations for the SRF.

I visit at least four Royalty blogs, and the image of the SRF has become part laughingstock, part dirty joke.

I don't know how or why they have allowed themselves to sink so low.

Moonmaiden, well if he wants Sofia in his life he better get some street smarts. He looked like a world class fool in the video. I honestly couldn't stop laughing. I guess everybody needs to get their butt kicked once in their lifetime...but I have a feeling if he stays with Sofia there'll be more where that came from.

It's so easy for people who sit anonymously behind their computer screens to pass judgement and ridicule. Because no one see's their face does not make them any less flawed or bigoted.

The self proclaimed righteous seem to make royalty discussion forums their first port of call.

People do seem to get great enjoyment piling on and attacking someone they do not know at all don't they? A boyfriend gets into a bit of a slapup and it becomes the girlfriends fault because apparently the other people involved in the slapup are total innocents infected by being in the presence of the girlfriend.
Good grief, it must be hard being such perfect examples of humanity for you to live on the same planet with the rest of us mere mortals.

It's really pathetic actually. Entirely unecessary.

I think most people on here are pretty reasonable people, yes some people clearly dislike Sofia and will blame her for everything wrong with the world. However the majority of people on here are just trying to make sense of the most recent incident, after all in a fight very very rarely are both parties not to blame in some way.
Bear in mind most reasonable people only brought Sofia into this when and eyewitness said it started after a comment about Sofia from the other guy. i dont blame Sofia, after all CP is resonsible for his actions and anything other than simply walking away was a massive mistake in my opinion. I say that based only on what i conclude to be the likely sequence of events based on what i've read.

Maybe they'll choose to holiday in a rather more low-key location next time? Leave St. Tropez and Cannes etc. to the reality TV stars and Holywood B-Listers. That's before you take into account the many dodgy individuals who choose to populate the French riviera at this time of year.

It seems that Carl Philip loves their villa in St. Maxime and partying in Cannes, since the manager of the night club said that Carl Philip had been there many times before.

LMAO! That's what I was thinking! CP gets into a scuffle and everyone finds some way to blame Sofia simply because she is Sofia.

I find it very strange on how Sophia is treated in some postings here. OK, she may not be a so called "decent girl” due to her past, BUT she is a human being. And she is very young. And when you are young you are entitle to make mistakes. Sometimes you don't invest much thought on your future - on what can happen or whom you can fall in love with in the years to come. Sophia is a young woman and the prince obviously seems to like/love her. Will this relationship turn to a marriage?? Who knows? Will they split or will Sophia take advantage of her relationship in order to foster her own career in the public or in whatever branch she has in mind? Who knows? Still, we all should respect the prince's choice.

Many years ago I read similar postings and articles on Princess Mary, Princess Mette-Marit and the Duchess of Cambridge, on Princess Mabel, Princess Maxima and Princess Letizia. Horrible things which I am sure hurt all those ladies very much. They all turned to be respected and very loved royal spouses in the years that has passed. Prince Daniel had been ridiculed. The Duke of Edinburgh was not the first choice of the public as husband for their beloved at then-time Princess Elizabeth.

How disrespectful is this to make such horrible comments on people? And how surprising must have been to all those who had to realize that those young men and women turned out to be different? To judge on them only because of some predictions or dislikes was a bad choice. Who are we to judge on them?

Reports like that one have appeared in magazines, Swedish and foreign, for quite some time now.
Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it turned out to be true.

I don't know the couple other than what I read on the forums. But frankly I find it sad that Sofia gets given such a hard time. So she did some things in her younger years that are questionable. What about it? Everyone makes mistakes and I'm sure she had her reasons. Everyone also deserves new chances.

If she and Carl-Phillip get engaged, good for them! I hope they make each other very happy. If they spent their lives trying to please the judging public who believe they know everything because they have seen a few photos or short videos then it would be a life wasted!

I hope it is true just for the fun of reading all the outraged posts that will appear on this forum.

I agree, it will be a hoot. It is their life, let them be. If they make mistakes [and didn't we all that have lived life to the fullest] they will survive along with the rest of the world. After all, they are only two small humans on this entire earth and whatever they do, it will not shake it.

I know very little about Carl or Sofia, but I find them a particularly handsome couple who seem a good 'match'. Certainly on the surface of it all.

Sofia, despite the gap in her teeth which I confess I find unnatractive in any smile, is an attractive women with a lovely figure. I've seen some of her 'portfolio' photo's and sure, they aren't by any standards a desirable asset for a prospective Princess but it is what it is and occured before she started dating Carl Philip (as far as I am aware?). As long as photo shoots are a thing of the past for her if indeed this realtionship is serious, and if it is serious then there is no way she could continue to model, then I think she should be accorded the opportunity to prove herself as worthy of being a member of the royal family.

Remember, Mette-Marit's suitability was once questioned at length and look at how beautifully she compliments the Norwegian royal family.

Anytime someone comments PRO or CON via a message board about a famous person they are passing a judgement of sorts whether they intend to or not.

Many people do not think that someone who has rather graphic and pornographic pictures available for viewing on the Internet should be married into the Swedish Royal Family, therefore becoming it's face to the world and a possible role model for others. That does not make them any more "righteous" and "bigoted" than it makes posters who don't have a problem with it a bunch of amoral Pollyannas.

In other words, posters on both sides have a right to their opinion without being called names.

For the record, I am not the poster who made the observation about the parenting skills of the King and Queen that you included in your response to me.

ETA: Not everyone thinks that Mette-Marit has been either a successful CP or a credit to the Norwegian Royal Family.
