:previous: Somehow agree with you, she did not kill someone  or made a bank robbery.

But: we are talking about a person, having a relationship with a "public figure" and a member of a RF, who should lead with good example (somehow :whistling:). That´s why they are doping Charity, supporting the local economics and a lot of other good works.

Now there is coming a girl, who has a pretty face and an excellent waistline and nearly everybody sees, HOW excellent her waistline is, because there is nearly nothing more left to hide. Remembers me of Koo Stark, the "porn girl" from Prince Andrew..... in total everything but not ideal.

On the other hand Mette Marit´s past wasn´t ideal too, or Letizias, and now they are excellent (even Crown-)Princesses of their respective countries.

i used to not like this girl but now i find that isnt really a reason for me to...i dont know her therefore i cannot judge her...i just didnt find her suitable for CP because i admit i was holding on to the dream up marrying him along with my other delusions...i just hope that she is good for him and if not...i hope that he can see that for himself before it is too late.

Pictures often speak volumes. Many of the pictures that I've seen on this blog on Sofia, it's always that she takes center stage. It's like "Here I am, Look at me."

Let's say that Prince Carl and Sofia married and had a couple of children. Let's say that she changed her ways and is now a more settled person. Let's say all is forgiven. Those pictures she took in her younger days will come back to haunt her. How many times have your heard about celebs or others in their wild days who wish they could erase their past? Difficult to do with pictures especially in the digital age would be difficult to completely erase.

I don't have any children but if I did, I would not want them to see these pictures. Usually women think this through after they married, settled down or had children.

There are commoners...and then there are COMMON commoners. Everyone here knows the difference....or at least should. :whistling:

I have no problem with Royals marrying the from the former category and most of us agree...Grace Kelly was from that group and Claire of Belgium comes to mind as well. Superb.

It's the latter type of commoner that I object to...and I have yet for anyone in this debate to provide an example of how such a person could benefit the monarchy in the long run.

Well said, Moonmaiden23. By the same token there are also COMMON royals whose behavior is, at the very least, an embarassment to their families if not a threat to the monarchy (although it can all add up over time).

Rascal, how correct you are about the "common" Royals...we don't need to name names do we? ;)

Both types..common commoners and common Royals have one thing they share....they are COMMON, and not worthy to wear a crown and represent an ancient family or nation, imo.

Exactly! I totally agree with you.

I'm constantly reading post about how people should not judge others by their past, but that's life and that's exactly what will happen when someone chooses to date a royal. After all, I believe if someone wishes to join the royal family the people have a right to know their background...however bad it may be.

Agreed, Moonmaiden23. However, without all the "common" royals, we would not have scandalous fodder for our discussions...LOL!

Well, with accepting a single-mother (and I´m a single mother myself!) and a divorcee f.i. we lowered the niveau even more. I wonder how long it may last until we accept a royal partner who was imprisoned by saying that he/she served his/her punishment and therefore everything is forgotten.
I believe that there a certain women where it´s considered "art" to get photographed naked (f.i. Carla Bruni). But I don´t believe that Sofia already belongs to that kind of women. Haakon and Felipe knew of course that the law gives them the right to marry women like Mette/Letizia. And so they did. I hate my German TV-channel any time they call those relationships ..."they arrived in the 21st century"....by calling those relationships "up to date".
If my daughter would bring a man who was imprisoned and the punishment is over I was still not amused and would advise her not to marry such a person. That´s my definition of ethics - FULL STOP.
The same with being a single mother. I wouldn´t advise my daughter to do the same as I did - I still find it better to live in a marriage and have children.
To come to an end: It IMO sheds a light on CP´s character if he likes women like Sofia....

Perhaps someone is trying to cool off their relationship by separating them. This has all happened rather quickly which is rather suspect. This is what it looks like or sounds like IMO. Interesting to see where the relationship will go from here.

if she really wanted to..she could wait for him imo..maybe this is a test of somesort

Well, he didn't have to accept service abroad, this was his own choice. I doubt his parents would go so far as to pressure him to put his life in danger as some sort of 'test'. Maybe it's a test they decided to give themselves, if it's a test at all.

Hmm, didnt they already try this plan a while back with another member of the family? Did it work? Nope, her boyfriend got a box with 30 letters instead;)

Does anyone know if Carl Philip introduced Sofia to his parents?

He did indeed. You can find an article on it a few pages back in the thread. (Perhaps someone in less of a hurry than I could re-post it or quote the post it was originally posted in?)

Thanks Jonquil. :) I am rather disappointed that he did. I was hoping he treats her as a girlfriend that is not supposed to meet parents. I mean she might be just a fun date. Now, we just wait and see how far it will go.:ermm:
Do royal watchers have to lower their expectations again for what is acceptable for royal girlfriends?

this is all about infactuaction, scientists state that the life span of infactuation is 18 months.... so the cp and sophias relationship is going downhill from here. i give their relationship until march 2011. hope she has enjoyed the rides. ps i wonder what kind of gifts give to their loved ones

Since CP introduced Sofia to his parents, he considers her his girlfriend. If she was a casual acquaintance or someone he was merely friends with, he probably wouldn't have formally introduced her to his parents.

What, they're still dating ? I'll give CP a couple months to get rid of her She's more trouble than it's worth

are they living together?

Yes. And apparently Sofia doesn't want anything in the apartment that has to do with Emma, so she made Carl Philip get a new bed at IKEA.

^Oh, please...she doesn't want to sleep in the same bed Emma once slept? Ha! Now you can get an idea that she would be an anoyinng princess, if she did that.

New IKEA bed or not, she would annoy me anyway Gosh, why do I even bother She's just a poor girl who thinks that she found the Prince She'll wake up soon

This is not to defend Sofia, however, I do understand why she doesn't want to sleep in the same bed as Emma. It's not the same as say, spending a night in a hotelbed...

PR :flowers:

True, Princess Robijn, however some people pick up on things regarding people who have slept in the bed they are sleeping in. Everyone has energy and everyone leaves energy wherever they go. In a hotel, the energy level is very high due to the number of people who use the bed. This is one reason why I don't like hotel rooms very much because I pick up on this often (not all the time) and often can't sleep or have difficulty sleeping because of this. People think I'm nuts but I know I'm not the only one out there who has experienced this.

I agree. I wouldn't want my boyfriend to have memories of his ex all around the house either. But of course, if that means having to change all the furniture, I would reconsider. It's not fair to demand him to change all the furniture, but I can understand she wants to add her own touch, her 'Sofia' - ness to the apartment.

Agree with you Prinsesse

If they do change all the furniture, whose footing the bill? Is Sofia paying for some of this (which she should pay for most of it since she wants the furniture changed) or she is letting CP foot the entire bill. Sounds more like the latter although I may be wrong.
