Why oh why did he not take her along for the wedding in greece? She would have fittet in fine with the blue sardines... The colour of the dress would have made her eyes shine.

That would have really started people going, but it would have been lovely to see her.

Didn't Se og Hør say that Victoria was pregnant a few weeks ago? I think they just want to publish any possible future events beforehand and then take credit for breaking the story when the event actually happens.

I've always assumed that Se og Hør was one of the trashier Scandinavian tabloids, like Star Magazine over here in the US. I'll take this "news" with a grain of salt. :flowers:

It is the trashiest by far, the other at least wait until the see smoke before screaming FIRE! Se og Hør \Se och Hör just think out what news would make good headlines and then write them.

If Prince Carl Phillip is engaged to be married, it's no longer a secret. A secret is something no one knows or something a newspaper doesn't know.

Sorry but if he was engaged, they aren't going to choose Se og Hor to announce it, it'll be announced properly. With Victoria not pregnant and the wedding over, I think Swedish papers are bored.

Only an official announcement would I believe. Because anyone could say that they are engaged.

Oh please! I guess the Swedish papers are very bored! First, the "engagement", now the rift between M and CP? The story actually made me laugh-so she doesn't like Sofia because she did not invite her to a gathering of her closest friends? I mean, is Sofia a close friend?:whistling:
I guess this couple is going to be tabloid fodder; much more so than when Emma and CP were together

Considering all the press have to print are photos from her past, why would they be "classy"? There haven't been any pictures of her in a ball gown or at a formal event, so what else are they suppose to print?

It's her job. What's wrong with that? I knew this photo and I think she has a nice smile, a nice body and knows how to position herself for a nice photo.

I'm so sick of all this Sofia-bashing. She couldn't do it right even if she would try. There would always be negative comments, no matter if she's in bikini, naked but not really naked (like said photo above) or if she's in ball gown like Lumutqueen suggested.

And like Lumutqueen said, these are all old photos that are printed lately. Not new ones. So Sofia isn't doing anything that would considered "bad decision" while she's the girlfriend of CP.

Always the same. Reducing Sofia to a slut and gold-digger because of her past. You don't know her. You only know what the press is making of her. And I bet everything I have that is not who she really is. So stop it already and give her a chance or keep quiet.

There are many who follow the Swedish Royal family and they have questions regarding the background of Sofia and how it relates to the royal Family.

Just as there are those who see nothing wrong with Sofia's background, and believe that she and Carl Phillip have a right to pursue a relationship.

This is a discussion forum, so people do not have to keep quiet. As long as its done respectively and within the TRF rules, there shouldn't be a problem.

:previous: You're right. A forum is the right place to have discussions and maybe my tone was a bit harsh. I didn't want to yell at anyone specifically. But I also think in a forum you should be fair and don't have intolerant prejudices. That includes users and topics IMO. And I'm sorry, but I think with Sofia as a discussion-topic there are more intolerant prejudices than fair arguments around. And that's what's making me mad again and again.

Oh, I don't know. How about a photo of her with friends, at a family gathering, out lunching or shopping...WITH HER CLOTHES ON??

And no...pythons do not count as clothing.

I have a very, very bad feeling about this young lady. I think Their Majesties would be well advised to stand firm against any suggestion that PCP be allowed to bring her into the family.

I'm sorry, but sometimes love is NOT all you need.

It's not that people aren't being fair. They're just not turning a blind eye to what Sophia has said and what she has done. If she dated a movie star or a rich corporate person it wouldn't matter, but the fact that she's with the prince changes things. Whether we like it or not, Sophia's decisions is what put certain prejudices on her. I'm all for love, the rags-to-riches story and Cinderella meeting her prince, but there are things that are not quite right...like the twitter post, etc. How can you expect anyone to give her a round of applause after that?? Screw the nude pics...how about the things she's said! Everything is not adding up with her which causes people to express their concerns. It's not bashing...it's facts.

This quote by Zonk sums it up:
There are many who follow the Swedish Royal family and they have questions regarding the background of Sofia and how it relates to the royal Family.

She is or was until she started dating Prince Carl Philip a soft porn model. I don't know how she makes her living now. My respect for a woman who comes from a modern country that gives women all chances and who uses that to make a living of the passing charm that her sex and youth offers, is little. Had she worked as a nude model to finance her studies I would maybe see things otherwise. And yes, there are pics of her with her clothes on in the net, and in them she looks relatively unsober. Why should I have to respect that woman? Respect is earned! And the fact that she uses some african children to gain a better reputation does not change my feelings for her. I cannot take that serious, since it is not a serious help organisation she is working for, but rather she gives her personal account for donnations! I think CP is out of his mind or simply does not care what the people who work for his living think about it all. In the long run, and with the crisis far from over that might be a bad move.

I agree with you about intollerant prejudices. Apparently the King, The Queen, Victoria and maybe Madeleine too (as I don`t believe to the tabloids) are more tollerant and open enough to meet the girl and give her a chance.

Why would they use those pictures, when the Swedish press can constantly show how bad she is for Prince Carl-Philip?

Exactly! There ARE photos of her with her clothes on. A LOT to be honest. I've seen them and recognized them just like those "bad, bad" nude/bikini photos. But the clothes-photos don't make a good headline and/or story, so why should they print them (even if they're new ones) when there are a lot of old nude/bikini photos around to show her as a bad/under-confident/gold-digging girl? They won't sell as good as the ancient nude/bikini photos and if I would have a newspaper I would tell my people to print those old photos instead of boring new ones, too, no matter if it's fair to that girl or not. But not everything you can read in newspapers and internet is true and shows how things really are. And it seems like CP knows that instead of many of his countrymen who are yelling bloody murder now. :nonono:

You have pretty much said it all...this young woman did not exhibit her body because she had to...she did it because she WANTED to.

She comes across as narcissistic and an exhibitionist...and I am not just talking about her photos. Her statements in the press and her blogs are just as revealing.

To the poster who labeled those of us who are not impressed with Miss Hellquist as "intolerant"...exactly what is it that you feel we are not tolerating?

Opportunism and narcissism, disguised as just a nice girl trying to make a living? Because that is what I see.

I am also not a bit impressed that the King and Queen have met her. That does NOT mean that they approve and are ready to welcome her into the bosom of the family.

It could mean that their rather spoiled only son has worn them down by pleading and insisting, and that they have caved to him.

The standards for Royal spouses keeps getting lower and lower and lower...and with Sofia the bar seems to be set the lowest of all. I wonder when will their subjects will finally say ENOUGH?

You don`t even know Sofia and you call her narcissistic, exhibitionist and opportunist?

It could mean that their rather spoiled only son has worn them down by pleading and insisting, and that they have caved to him.
That`s your interpretation. The truth may be very different.

The only ones that know are Prince Carl Phillip and Sofia. They are the only ones that know the status of their relationship and everyone else is guessing or speculating here.

The more people attack them, the closer they become. It seems like the forbidden fruit factor takes over. It would be interesting where the relationship would go if people considered Sofia to be respectable or people just thought they were wonderful together. If she had no baggage.

We really don't know if they are engaged. Many people of this blog seem to think so by their comments on the matter.

That's true. The more people attack them the closer they will become.

I hate speculating about engagements before it's announced. They're not engaged to me until they announce it. Until then I refuse to speculate.

PCP is a grown man so I doubt he cares about what his parents think. His parents will meet her because she's with their son, but that definitely doesn't mean they approve. The king and queen could end up being best friends with Sophia, but even that doesn't mean they approve.

I understand what you're saying about her being narcissistic. Her posts and comments do hint toward that. When I read what she said, it seemed to me like she was willing to do whatever it takes to get where she wants to be. Some are willing to claw their way to the top.

Don't worry about the intolerant comments. They talk about being intolerant and bashing her but I think that some forget about those statements. Or they choose to forget. She may be a very nice person, but like I said earlier, one can't expect someone to give her a round of applause.

Another thing, why all of a sudden she's involved with charity? Holding a underprivileged baby in your arms doesn't win you points. I hope that came from her heart and not a statement to show that she deserves to be with the prince.

That`s your interpretation. The truth may be very different.

I have read her tweets and blogs Monna, and having viewed her some of her "work" and I stand by my opinion.

With all due respect, YOUR version of the truth might be quite different, especially since we have neither seen nor read anything about this girl to suggest she is simply some dewy eyed young Bambi who has fallen for a Prince.

The more people attack them, the closer they become. It seems like the forbidden fruit factor takes over.

If that above statement is true for CP he has definitely been brought up to the wrong end. He is a grown up man and life is not a play and a pasttime, especially not when one is payed by the people to be an elite and represent the country. Oppositionism is not a very good idea to found ones family on. I could immagine that if he where a descendant of a very wealthy familiy, he would be told that he looses his inheritance if he marries someone who brings nothing but a good portion of greed into the family. These people do not normally play around in the matter of money. And mind you, critics here are well within the limits, unlike other forums in swedish newspapers or in the royaldish forum.

You have pretty much said it all...this young woman did not exhibit her body because she had to...she did it because she WANTED to.

Have you ever had the ability to ask her that yourself?
Or are you assuming such?

She was in no need. Sweden is a socal state which gives people all opportunities. She was not going hungry and she could have gotten an education. She does have quite normal parents. So where is the need? Apart from the need to be admired and in the center of attention?

With all due respect, YOUR version of the truth might be quite different, especially since we have neither seen nor read anything about this girl to suggest she is simply some dewy eyed young Bambi who has fallen for a Prince.
My version of the truth? I don`t have any. Because I don`t know the truth. Nor do you. Only the RF knows.
